In Om Shanti Om, along with Dipika Padukone, another actor has made debut and he is none other than our beloved Vishal (of duo Vishal-Shekhar). He appeard in one of the scene of Om Shanti Om along with Shahrukh Khan. I must say he looks so natural in this scene (obivoisly its charishma of Saregamapa). How many of us know the fact that Shekhar has stared in Hindi Movie? Shekhar Ravjiani (of Vishal-Shekhar) was part of movie ‘Home Delivery’(2005). He acted in this movie though his role was very short. But I must admit he was awesome in this short role..I really wonder why he dosen’t make acting as his career..Here is the video from the movie ‘Home Delivery’ where Shekhar played role of salesman…
Here is a good news…In Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007, Vishal and Shekhar (Hit It Gharana) have got the Bramhastra (at least in the hands of sensible gurus). For those who don’t know what Bramhastra is, let me explain you.
Bramhastra is the final chance for audience to get their favourite contestants back on the show. During the round 1 and round 2, the public is asked to vote for their favourite Gharana. The Gharana which gets the maximum number of votes, get the chance to choose the 8 contestants who got eliminated in earlier rounds. Among these 8, two contestants will be chosen by “audience votes” for the Agnipariksha round (The finals). The chosen 2 contestants will belong to the Gharana which has got the Bramhastra.
As Vishal and Shekhar have got this Bramhastra, they have chosen their favourite 8 contestants. The tentative list is here..
I guess, they didn’t select Wasi and Sikandar because of their visa problem. I am surprised with the selection of Desh Gaurav. I think, Tushar or Yogendra pathak (from Rock Gharana) would be better option than Desh gaurav.
From this Friday, Bramhastra round will start (not sure about its format). The guests for this episode are - Dharmendra, Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol (to promote their movie – Apane)…
The voting details will be announced on that day. So be prepared for voting and to save your favourite contestants…

Here are videos of Episode 13 (15th June) of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007. Today’s theme is Vishal-Shekhar’s songs. Watch their special performance in the begining of the show. In this episode Joy Chakrobarty from India and Nirupma Dey from Agartala, India (Both from Himesh Reshammiya’s Rock Gharana) got green card and direct entry to Final Round - Agnipariksha. The remaining participants will perform in the next episode.
Vishal explained “Both have the calibre and self-confidence within them to perform, their voice is not suitable for playback singing but they will make good pop stars. They know their music well, so we’ve decided to include them in our group.”
Praising Junaid, he said, “He has the potential but still needs to be groomed and we will see to it personally that he reaches the top.” Lucky boy Junaid Sheikh is on the top of the world “I’d never imagined that Vishalji and Shekharji would give me a chance. When they announced it on the stage, I had no words to express myself. Now with Allah’s wish, I will do my best as he helps those who help themselves.”
Vishal also played down the clashes with Himesh Reshmiyaa during the show. “I respect him as he is one of the most talented singers in our industry. Everybody has their own opinion”

The coming Saturday’s episode will see a huge argument on the sets between the judges over Sarika Singh, a contestant from Madhya Pradesh, who fainted on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 out of fear of getting eliminated from the show (Watch video of this drama here). The contestant belongs to Vishal and Shekhar’s Hit It Gharana.
Ashaji not pleased
Reportedly, Asha Bhosle was unhappy with her performance. According to her, the song’s sur and taal were not in order. Vishal and Shekar were not in favour of Asha’s judgment.
In fact, they fought with Asha on this. Sarika Singh sung Lata’s song Bhiga Bhiga where Asha passed her remarks.
The next episode she sung Sunidhi’s song Bhage re mann from the movie Chameli and was highly appreciated by all the mentors from Ismail Darbar, to Bappida (Himesh was not present).
Everyone on the sets were impressed by her song and she was applauded by all the judges of the gharanas, but Asha again ended up remarking on her sur and taal not being in co-ordination!

At this, Vishal and Shekhar hit out. Says Vishal, “Sarika is a very good singer. The only concern for Shekhar and me is to hone the ability of the singer.
No disrespect to Ashaji’s decision. She is a guru but Sarika’s performance was par excellence as compared to other performers on that day.”
Vishal further adds, “ we have the Brahmastra where we get to choose one of the contestant who was eliminated, and all the judges of the gharanas have decided to get Sarika back.”
Asha Bhonsle is out of country and was not available for comment. According to the sources, none of the judges are happy with Asha’s judgment and fed up with the kind of remarks she passes.
