SRGMP lil Champs 2009 Written Update – 11th July
The show begins and Shalini gets an opportunity to begin the show by singing bum bum bole.. Shaan enters and says, “Kids are really special”.. He then joins Shalini and other contestants in the group song.. Dhairya welcomes Abhijeet and Alka.. He also welcomes Shaan and asks him to take his seat..
Afsha announces that today contestants will be singing Shaan’s favorite songs.. Dhairya says, today is elimination day and so Alka will invite boys and Abhijeet will invite girls to sing..
Alka invites Abhijeet by passing a remark that contestant Abhijeet is very soft and nice when compared to his mentor.. Dhairya asks Abhijeet, Do you have any other hobbies?? He says, I love to play cricket.. Dhairya asks about the musicians cricket team and Alka replies, It is a game between Composers and Singers but every time its composers who win. Dhairya asks who are players for which Shaan says, one is our captain, Abhijeet da and looking at him he asks, why should I always be the captain of loosing team?
Abhijeet sings meri soni meri tamanna from Yaadon ki baarat.. Singers – Asha and Kishore.. MD – RD Burman..

Shaan – We all love you.. Fantastic.. You have a very bold and well projected voice..
Alka – There is a huge leap in your performance.. You did a wonderful job today compared to yesterday.
Abhijeet – You took wrong variations while singing.. He gives few examples and asks him to be careful next time..

Antara from Tinsukiya is called by Abhijeet.. He says, she looks like a makhan chor.. Shaan comments, I have heard that there are no milk products left in her city as she has taken it all..
Antara sings jiya oh jiya kuch boldo from jab pyaar kisi se hota hain.. MD – Shankar Jaikishen. Singer – Lata Mangeskar

Alka goes on stage and the crowd starts shouting once more.. So, Antara starts singing the antara..
Shaan – I forgot the song what she sang then he comments, It wasn’t a performance to be forgotten.. I have listened to this song in Rafi sahab’s voice but it was quite nice listening to you..
Abhijeet asks Antara, Kya gaya?? She says, gaana gaya and he replies, bahut accha gaya..

Dhairya says, there are six boys while girls are only four.. Afsha replies, We four girls are more than enough for you six boys.. They take a break..
After the break Afsha is found standing near Alka.. Dhairya asks why she is there.. She replies, I took a short cut and reached here.. I wanted to gift this bucket to Alka didi as the water which Alka didi used for Abhijeet da was not sufficient.. I brought this bucket for her to pour the whole bucket of water on Abhijeet da..
Alka says, Now that we are talking about little pot and water, let us call the one who brought the little pot..
Hemant sings Jalwa from Fashion.. Singer – Sukhwinder, Satya and Robert.. MD – Salim Suleiman

All the judges give standing ovation.. Crowd ask Hemant to sing again.. Shaan begins the song and Hemant continues to sing..
Shaan – Kamaal raha Jalwa.. You were running out of rhythm but you caught the pulse of the song..
Alka – Your jalwa was jalwedaar..
Abhijeet asks, what can you predict from my face?? Alka replies, Only sweat.. He the says, This song, Hemant sang very well..

Priyanka sings Yaara silli silli from Lekin.. Singer – Lata. MD – Hridaynath Mangeskar.

Shaan asks, why were you so scared?? Priyanka replies, she was scared of Shaan.. Alka says, No one can smile like Shaan.. Shaan then says, this is the first time he has heard someone being scared of him.. He then continues, you were struggling with the low notes.. There seems to be some distraction..
Abhijeet – I dunno what to say.. It wasn’t like I was listening to a song..
Alka – It was good overall but you didn’t catch the pulse of song.. It is important that you keep a hold to the song until the end..
Abhijeet says, the episode will end if she keeps a hold till the end.. Alka says, she has brought some box which has many things in it and whenever the needs arise, she will pick them one by one..

Abhigyan Das sings Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga from 1942 a love story.. Singer – Kumar Sanu.. MD – RD Burman.. Abhigyan forgets the lyrics but Shaan and Alka help him to sing..

Shaan – I can understand that it is against your principles to praise a girl when you are competing with them.. But we can ignore everything because the way you sang the word hawa was simply out of the world..
Alka – You could have brought in more softness in the mukhda..
Abhijeet – If he had the lyrics with him he would have sung 100 times better.

After the break, Dhairya is missing so Afsha asks, where did the kukudu go?? He replies, I have come to talk with Yatharth’s sister.. Yatharth’s sister says, we are two sisters and one brother.. So, he is too close to us and we are too attached to him.. She adds, when he was 5, he started singing.. He loved singing in wash room as it used to give studio effect.. Dhairya asks, will he become lil champ?? She replies, he has come with lot of dreams and is an independent kid.. He will definitely win..
Afsha says, Give some rest for your mouth…
Yatharth is called by Dhairya.. He sings Aye ajnabee from Dil se.. MD – AR Rahman.. Singers – Udit Narayan and Mahalakshmi Iyer..

Crowd keep shouting once more.. Abhijeet goes on stage and Yatharth sings antara..
Shaan – Fantastic..

Abhijeet starts praising those with surname Bhattacharya.. Alka tells Shaan, its Abhijeet Bhrashtacharya.. Abhijeet then says, I am proud as she is a Bhattacharya..

Abhijeet – When you sang the anthra, I lost the interest.. Don’t take such songs which is so complicated and has many voices..
Alka – It is better to choose a song.. Next time you choose something which has just one voice..

Shaan says, the one to get lowest score in last episode was Yashodhan.. He also announces that Yashodhan and Priyanka are in bottom 2..
Shaan tells Yashodhan, today you were good but because of yesterday’s performance, you are out..
Alka says, he should come back again..

This is blatant disregard in regards to removing Yasodhan. There are girls like Shalini and other girl from Assam are much poor singer compare to him & inspite of this they are making this kind of political decision to keep Alka Yagnik happy , who herself is not classical singer. It’s just sad story in regards to exploitation and humiliation of this small kids.
I have been watching this show from long time and have lot of respect for this show and the judges but i definitely think that today they did do justice with Yashodhan Rao ……..
let me tell I have no relation with Yashodhan ….i am from rajasthan so no state connection ..
I just want few things to say ….Kid has a very different voice and is a sincere fellow….
On 10th July shaan mentioned once that today is not an elimination round so everyone should sing without fear……
and on 11th July they said to yashodhan that he sung well but not enough to cover the bad performance of 10th July ( was he that bad on july 10th ??????)………
Other thing is that I am surprised that … Shaan and Alka has not Seen Jab we Met … or heard Jab we met song…. when its such a bit hit with good songs…..yashodhan has sung that tough song so well …..
on the other hand … Priyanka is in trouble from almost all the episodes …..infact on July 11th also she didn’t do well …..I mean i cherish her voice and the type of songs which she only can sing …. very different … but still at bottom as compared to other guys….
and what about Abhigyan …. I mean I know he is melodious and sings amazing well … But I think on 11th July he sung very bad …not just he stopped but i think his notes were off too……common guys if his for July 11th was enough tomake an easy decision ….i know he is a overall better performance than Priyanka and Yashodhan …. but so what …. he didn’t sung well today …. so he should have gon e…
One thing is for sure that Boys are very strong this season …. and I think before they have trhown Yashodhan out they shoul dhave take out 2-3 more girls … atleast 2 ( you all know who i am reffering too) …..On question on Sheyasi’s talent…she is amazing …but I should say Alka ji is routing too hard for her …..I think there are atleat 2 buys at par with her or sometimes better…
But it seems like that is an ego issue now…. that what if there will be all 6 guys and just 2 girls … will it affect Alka ji’s image …..questions her selection …..
I mean why … last 2 time girls were champions …….so why this fear ….
I know that neither yashodhan or Priyanka or in fact Abhigyan has a chance to be the Lil champ 2009…… so it like they sent a boy this time and unfortunately it was Yashoshan …..
Not Fair …. its a competition …not a Boy or a girl game ….
Please not in this competition … We respect this stage a lot !!!!!!!!

I hope they they some good decision in future otherwise it will be very unfortunate to see this stage doing injustice ….I know that decisions are sometimes not correct when it comes by popular votes but I expect it to be unbiased when it comes from great judges….

It’s time to start blasting the SaReDraMa Lil Champs 2009. What started as a fresh unique bunch of talented indivduals is now being undone by skullduggery YET AGAIN. WHY DOES ZEETV CONTINUE TO SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT!! IT’S MINDBOGGLING!!!
Yasodan should feel hard done by. If anything Bengal Champ Abhigyan, or even Abhijeet, should have gone.
Abhigyan stays because Zee TV have special contract with Zee Bangla that the Bengal Champion will come Top 3 minimum no matter what. Hence the Top 3 status of Aneek, Soumen, etc. Abhijeet got off lightly but still sung well – not disputing. No girls were eliminated no matter how crap they sing because come on – we have to keep some sort of balance right! where’s the competition then! (relax, I’m being sarcastic by the way)
Just like Sunvinder, Shashi, Monesha were wronged for the grown up version, the kids are being wronged here again. I feel sorry for Zee. They started so promisingly, yet once again managed to steal defeat from the jaws of victory.
Incredible.
For the record – due to the predictable nature of the show, I can easily say that the Top 3 will be Abhigyan, Yatharth & Antara.
Bring on next season you predictable fools.
Also Hemant’s elimination somewhere down the line will be the “controversy” of the season. I’m almost 100% sure his father will cause the much needed drama quotient this show has been looking for.
