Saregamapa Challenge 2009 written update – 10th Jan
Hello Friends

The show begins with Yashita and Vaishali singing Mora lal dhupatta mal mal ka.. Soumen and Aditya joins them by singing Dhupatta tera nau rang da..
Aditya welcomes the audience and also the mentors.. Himesh says, the mentors will continue doing the Bethuki Shayri.. Aditya announces that today’s theme is – Old song and New Song.. One contestant will sing both old song and new song on a same subject..
Performances:
Soumen is called on stage and asked to touch the SRGMP C2009 trophy so he could feel it.. He does so and then sings meri upar ke nau jawano.. MD – RD Burman.. Singer – Kishore Kumar.. And from the current era he sings Deewangi Deewangi from Om Shanti Om.. MD – Vishal-Shekhar. Singers – Sunidhi, Udit and Shreya Ghosal..

Vaishali is called on stage.. She is also asked to touch and feel the trophy.. She says, she would take it in her hand only in the finals.. Aadesh asks her why is she always surrounded by politicians for which she replies, she loves to get into politics.. Aadesh advices her not to get into politics and concentrate on singing.. Vaishali says her first love is music..
She sings honton mein aisi baat.. MD – SD Burman and Lata Mangeskar.. From the current era she sings, Hont rasile tere hont rasile..

Himesh – Your winning is for sure.. After saying this he starts proving the point for hyping Vaishali.. He defends himself saying, It is important to let public know about the other qualities of a contestant.. Aadesh says, Her voice will speak.. There was no one to hype Himesh, the composer and he became popular because of his music.. In the same way, Vaishali will also become popular because of perfect sur.. Himesh says, being a mentor, he would do what he feels and doesn’t require any advice from anyone.. He also asks, Why do you think that public will listen to me?? Aadesh says, You have the freedom to do whatever you want, but I want that public decides the winner based on their performance.. Himesh ends up saying, I have the rights to promote and bring out the best qualities of my contestant..

Aadesh – The second song had great range, expression, attitude and the list goes on and on.. God Bless You.. History. Yashita says, she is not keeping very wel and so lost sur at many placesl.. Aadesh says it happens with everyone and that she was very good in the 2nd song..
Himesh – I never wanted you or Soumen to get eliminated.. Today I can proudly say that my decision was not wrong.. History
Pritam – You have again proved that you are a versatile singer.. Aadesh says, I was amazed at the 2nd performance of yours.. There are many who try to fake with their attitude but the attitude is in built in you..
Aditya asks who is the best among the three today.. Himesh asks Aadesh to announce the result.. Aadesh says, This is a sangam.. Each one has the best in them but but none of them were good today.. Pritam says, if you ask us, we would take the name of our own contestant or maybe the other gharana contestant.. So, we cannot decide.. Himesh again starts his argument.. He now starts pointing fingers at Pritam.. He says, if he had to take his own contestant name, then he would have never requested for both the contestant to be in the finals.. There is a heated argument after this and a voice over says, the shooting was stopped for 3 hours.. Then the show organizers discuss it and solve the issue to bring back the mentors on the show..

Promo of Dance India Dance is shown and all the mentors wish luck for the show..
Aadesh is then asked by Aditya who would get the spice mobile today. Aadesh says, he would like to take the help of Pritam Puran today which says, all the 3 should get the mobile.. So, Aditya gifts the mobile to all the 3 finalists..
Aditya announces that there will be 3 shows one each in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkatta.. The 3 finalists would be performing to get the support from the audience..
To be honest Vaishali is a damn good singer in case if she losses the trophy i can only say it will be because of himesh only as he is bad character !!! Himesh this is specially for you talking in loud again n again does n’t mean u talk sense to be honest u talk non sense ,,,,,,,, becareful mate u r good composer and singer but u r attitude will defently let you down if u carry on the same….. Any way best of luck for all you 3….
I m not too good to judge the best singer but I think Vaishali is the best out of three, & i must say Himesh is the WORST mentor & judge I ever seen. Saregamapa Management team should Fired him & bring someone has better behaviour, because he really don’t know how to behave. Himesh is Rude, Non-Sense, Mean, Stupid, always tries to ruin others reputation, & he don’t respect anybody….. no matter how good he is a singer/composer, he hurts other people’s feelings. Aadesh was talking right about Vaishali “We shouldn’t talk about her personal life on stage…. because people already like her very much”. Which is already in her favor so I don’t know why Himesh was arguing with him. He is just Show-off. Himesh you are a “Male-Bitch”.
Himesh thinks everyone owes him a living as he is the only music director who can compose, sings and act!!! Big deal!! you sing and act just like a baboon, stiff and ill mannered!
As usual, at the end of the contesst, he always will act up and treat the other mentors as “stupid and non-existent”. Himesh besharam guy you better stop all this nonsense of yours otherwise the junta will get sick of your antics and that is where your career will end. A person like Vashaili does not need a mentor like Himesh.Without HImesh I think she will garner a lot more votes.

yashita is singing weak because she is musically weak. Hello!! I really dont like the fact that yashita is getting a free ride because of this everyone should win crap. She was an embarrasment in the semi classical round and has always been leaning on style rather than substance. Even singers like sunidhi chauhan who are damn stylish in there singing style are damn good in there sur. This yashita is all over the place. Bad luck for vaishali, she has to face two competitors instead of one. Whay did zee buy into this 3 way final nonsense?

Support is good thing but bad behaviour & no respect to others specially others mentors(GURUs) is Extremely Bad Thing, that’s all everyone is talking about….i think u must agree with this!!!!!!
hmm i’ve noticed that every single time its always 1 contestant from himesh’s gharana thats in the finals (ex vineet from 2005 etc.) and he always starts an argument the last few weeks before the show and then it causes people to dislike him which loses votes for the contestant in his gharana which makes them LOSE

Please have some ground rules for the competion and have a penalty for not obeying it. If you want to have any commitment from the winner like 0.5 h public service, have it not only for Vaishali but for any one.Himeshji, it ia about music not about being a good wife or husband or being a good person. If those are the criterion for the competitors, have it for every competitor not for Vaishali only. Please don’t make this world show look this ugly in front of 122 countries. I really don’t know you want Vaishali to lose or win. It looks like she is not helped by you.
ditto. himesh’s behaviour is so outrageous that it impinges on the integrity of all Indian judges.The judges’role is two-fold-to train their protegees but also to have a duty of care towards all singers. Himesh has been loudly proclaiming in the last few episodes that vaishali will be the winner and then like a typical bully whimpers (after the altercation) that all three deserve to draw equal votes. He should have said this at the outset if he wanted people to believe the veracity of his grand proclamation. The other 2 judges have admirably conducted themselves and Aadesh’s comments on Vaishali’s being a trained singer, were simply a reaction to himesh’s pathetic attempt to laud Vaishali’s innate decency. If this were the yardstick for the judges, then Himesh should tuck his peacock tail between his legs and beat a hasty retreat.If Zeetv invites him to the next show, then the only conclusion one can draw is that he certainly has some stranglehold on Zee. Then the onus is on listeners to demand that Zeetv refrain from giving a platform to such an uncouth judge.

How the heck he know’s if she is good person or good wife –how should the viewers know that she is good wife–and rest two are not good–it’s a show about their singing capabilities not judging their charecter –best singer who deserves win’s –no need for him to scream that she is a good wife -at the top of his lungs
you might all feel that I am sounding paranoid but let me assure you that I am far from being a paranoid person but the truth is that zee tv is shit scared of himesh because of his very strong underworld connections and even last time they had to fix the results and make aneek win. He does run the show whether yo want to believe it or not except that it is not because people love him and shower his candidates with votes which is why they win which is precisely the message he wants to convey when his candidates win but his candidates win because of am twisting and threats.

Rajdeep let me say once and for all that I am NOT a die-hard fan of anybody. Yes I did like Raja especially his voice different from the usual ones more than any other contestants and yes I did root for him but a die-hard fan NO. I dont believe in being a die-hard fan of anybody Period. As for the fixing statement made by me goes this is something that Vishal admitted to albeit off the record during a telephonic conversation and it is true that the whole affair was not very clear.
As far as Himesh’s connections go, his clout has increased tremendously from the vineet time whether one wants to believe it or not and it is true that he gets paid oodles more than the other judges and all his film breaks etc are also due to his connections.
And I once again repeat dont dismiss me off saying that my vision is so coloured because I am a die-hard fan of so and so. I have lived a long enough and event-filled life Rajdeep and know where to draw the line, and can take enough distance while coming to uncoloured conclusions.
Listen to how sure and confident Himesh sounded once again. His brashness is not just pure brashness. He knows that he can carry it off and not get affected.
Having said all this I will be very happy to eat humble pie once the final results are declared and Himesh loses out but all this is rather sad because vaishali is indeed a good singer. Though I still feel that Yashita is more versatile, a much better performer and has been more adventurous in her song selections etc and is the most spontaneous singer of the lot. The others have more or less played safe and chosen to be in their comfort zones. Anyway I dont find any of them superb, mindblowing yuck etc etc.

But I read in a number of newspapers that Vishal-Shekhar both said publicly that Aneek deserved to win and there was no manipulation.
I don’t know which is right and I don’t care.
I don’t think any rational mided person will like Himesh’s behaviour, but to drag the name of any contestant with him is downright unethical.
That’s all.
I didnt drag any contestant’s name. I mentioned aneek but not derogatorily, just as a matter of fact. and the telephonic conversation mentioned was with me. It’s only when vishal admitted to it that I believed it. He also said that there was no point dragging these things on record etc and also that on-line voting etc was not the most reliable way of going about it in terms of providing solid proof etc.
I have nothing against aneek but my favourite last time around was Raja and Mussarrat when he was there.

Do you mean Vishal (of Vishal-Sekhar duo)discussed the fix with you ? If he had any proof, why didn’t he go to the media and team up with Mr.Ismail Darbar.
I had read several interviews of the duo and heard them saying Aneek truly deserved to win and so did Raja, but they thought Amanat was the most matured one ready to hit the music industry at that moment.
@padma … Aneek was unique and hence he won with an overwhelming majority of votes. Raja simply wasn’t a match.
Vishal was talking to you on the phone about the “whole affair” between Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni which was not “clear” to him. Vishal is a devoted family man.
Mentioning Aneek and Himesh in the same sentence is defamatory to Aneek and Aneek’s fans.

What about Vineet? He did not win. I don’t think Himesh has underworld connections. But it is possible that he plays an important part in the show. Even if he is forced to praise Vaishali, he says something like of course you will do good job because you are trained. Well she told that she could not afford a guru. Has he forgotten that. She may be taking lessons now but you can’t call her a trained singer. When Pt Harprasad chaurasia said about her surs being perfect. He says sur acche kyu nahi lagenge. Mahol hi aisa hai.Then why was Yashita off sur.Himesh may be a nuisance but Aadesh is jealous out of work MD.Himesh and Aadesh were fighting like kids.I think Shankar can really discipline these guys.
I think himesh is a piece of Shit, Aadesh’s point of view is always clear & positive, himesh just never like to listen to nobody, like himesh said …”Mujhe Aap ki Nasihat ki Zarurat Nahi hai, Mujhe Nasihat Mat Karo”…& so many times himesh said…. “kisi ko achha lage yaa boora mein apni baat zaroor kahoonga”, then why don’t himesh let them talk too, everyone has right to talk just like he has right to talk. I hate to say that but I have to say that He is a “Male-Bitch”.
Himesh is promoting Visali too much. Three of them are very special and when heading towards finals especially Visali’s song selection is suits close to her voice. But there is no doubt that Yashitha is a real performer. mentors have the rights to promote and bring out the best qualities of their contestant in primary stages but in this stage it is better that the Sur must speak for the Contestant and let the people decide winner .One thing more Yashitha must be very careful about her song selections. very good observation. between vaishali and yashita the former always selected her songs which suited her style and range . god knows who was guiding yashita in song selection as quite often she could not do justice to her songs.this point was completely overlooked by the mentors who were busy fighting with each other rather than noticing what the cotestants were doing on the stage.

Whether himesh is ignorant or plain stupid…Its a show and mentors are allowed to back their student…he is not doing nothing wrong…Yashita is crap, crap, crap …and i guess she and her mom will do anything for money…you know the saying (actions speak louder than words) when you look at her, she knows their was better singers than her and they all got eliminated…you can see the guilt in her and always make up some sub story for people to feel sorry for her…pratibha was better than yashita….what yashita do to be there??? The competition is vashali’s!!! her performance was consistent all through the competition….and so soumen….yashita makes me sick …dancing like a tart will not win her the competition…she should just bog of with ape man pritam.
I agree yashita is becoming an embarrassment towards the final weeks. You are right about the guilt. You could see it both in Fridays and saturdays episode. Pratibha is surely a better singer. If style is what yashita has, then Mitika had both style and singing but she got eliminated long time back though I cant figure out what the hell happened. Mumbai people probably have just too much free time and send SMSs tirelessly.

You r right about yashita, Pratibha is better singer, vaishali & souman are good selection for finale, himesh is extremely a BITCH.
The role of a mentor is certainly to support his or her contestent but not to discourage the other contestants! The mentors are also judges at the same time, so that it becomes mandatory that they remain souvereign to the largest extent possible. Himesh puts his candidate above the others and acts as if they were not equally good human beings. For example he underlines the good qualities of Vaishali and suggests through his words as if the other two candidates were not good human beings. He lacks in manners as he never lets others speak out their mind, interrupting everyone else. At the same time he wishes to claim the attention for himself. As a whole, I think he needs to improve his social behaviour and become a good human being himself before he starts defining the other good human beings! Irrespective of his musical capabilities, he does not seem to be fit to be in a deciding position. May be they could replace him with someone like Sonu Nigam!

I got so upset with the way this show us ran that I had to respond, first Vaishali should bot use her poor childhood as an excuse, she has made it and she is there on the program. She should say thank God and depend on talent and not sympathy to win. As for Yashita, well there is not much to say there, she has talent, there is no doubt. But the most versatile singer there left is Soumen, he deserves to win.
As for the gurus, who put Himesh there. This may sound cruel but he looks like a in the closet gay! This is not an insult, if there was anyone to be insulted it would be the gays and he should take that sorry excuse of a wig off as well as all the blush he wears. He needs to understand this program is to promote young and up coming talent and not a forum to boost his sorry self! He should spend more timing learning not to sing thru his nose and to actually write music and stop making everything about himself. The other gurus can. Does he not see what an ass he makes of himself….I feel sorry for his wife!

Himesh seems to be an uneducated person because only an uneducated behave in the manner he is behaving. Dont worry guys in film industry after a certain time people like Himesh are not to be seen at all.
I am sorry for Vaishali because if she loses it will be only for Himesh. Anyhow she is more interested in politics and she knows that Himesh is good in playing politics. Good for both of them. Vaishali wanted a stage where she could be recognised and this is the best one so that she can easily enter into politics.

Vaishali no doubt is the best singer and HR is doing nothing but promoting best singer !
And these double standard people like Adesh-Pritam also promoted personal life of Debojeet dutta-Asma, Yashita earlier.
Now since HR is left with best contestant and Preetam has got Yashita who is not even worth reachin Top 14 , Adesh is left with very average Soumen, that’s why they are jealous !
Yashita should have quit on her own after listening to Jagjit singh’s comments, he showed Yashita her right level !
Zahir was good , Naina saxena was so goood, I wish they were the remaining 2 finalists with vaishali.
But anyway, Zahir’s progress wasn’t possible bcoz of obvious reason, even Mitika was good option than besuri Yashita.
HR has a new name by me Hysteric Himesh. Such an Idiot. It is Vaishali who is already a winner but Himesh thinks he is shaping her career. Simply Idiotic. Himesh himself probably sing a duet in her scale with her as beautifully. But I still am voting for soumen because he is way ahead of the other two.
I think all Guru’s play politics in one way or the other but the only differnce with HR is he too emotional and shows that he is playing politics but the rest of Guru’s espically Aaesh is very chalak, game bhee khaltay hain our kisee ko pata bhee nahi chalta. So I thin they are the real politicians. I wish Vishali wins S Jangeet’s favorite and not hollywood copycut Yashita since its an indaian musical show.
