Hey dockaul. Just Jinjer is one of our most popular bands and they released this song many years ago. Its one of my favs from them and thought the lyrics might be a bit infectious but I see not many want to talk about peace. The paki-india debate goes on and I lost track of the score sometime ago.

guys, this is one place on the web where indians and pakistanis interact. i think we should have a frank and open discussion about the situation rather than sweeping things under the carpet. extreme views on both sides are annoying but it is time for more dialog between the people of the 2 countries.
i really dont give a flying fig for SRGMP 2008, shopefully next year will be better and we will have fun dicussions. my only interest in these boards now is to read what pakistanis have to say and to have a sane dispassionate discussion without it sliding into tu tu mai mai territory.
dont expect people to divorce music from what they are experiencing in real life at this point, the wounds are too raw, i am sure in a couple months things would be back to some normalcy.

I have posted before and repeat that the mumbai attacks were a aconspiracy against the fast developing India-Pakistan relations.
I still can’t believe that a dozen people from another country come and take control of the heart of a city without inside cooperation. It just shows that a huge network of terrorists exists world wide. Those who attacked mumbai are enemies of Pakistan more than India as they have put Paksitan in an awkward position. In recent times,Pakistan has suffered the most from such groups.
In my view these terrors have a big network in Pakistan, India & Afghanistan and they try every bit to get these countries in war whenever they get chance. Hence, its the need of the hour that India/Pakistan join hands and work together to root out this network.
But the main hurdle is the lack of trust between the two neighbour due to a bitter past. Both governments have to take some bold decisions (agaist the wills of extremist elements) to gain each others trust. And they need to show consistent patience without jumping to rhetorics as the terror elements will continue to try damage the trust.
Imagine, if Pak-India are at peace then to whom those “police states” will sell the arms? what would be their importance then? They will keep feeding these terrorists to sabotage any peace efforts between these countries. Thats the conspiracy I am trying to indicate.
In my humble opinion, India & pakistan should work on a peace treaty, say for 50 years. This will pave the way for an ultimate trust among the neighbours and divert their attention towards the welfare of the people. We have a long history of living together with peace, why can’t we do it again? We just have to beware of that shaitani network which exploited us to go separate way (in the name of independence), sowed the seeds of hatred among us, and never wishes peace among us.

Actually it depends on how God is viewed by the speaker. Hindus generally attribute anthromorphic qualities to God, so it is perfectly fine Swami to say it. Chrsitians may view God as a friend and say, “May God walk with you!” Would you say it is disrespectful to God? May be, based on your religion. Since people of different faiths have survived & prospered for thousands of years, it likely that God really doesn’t care how He/She/It is viewed. Who knows?
I completly agree with you but I still think no matter what kind of qualititis u attribute to God or what kind of religion you follow, in all religions God is considered the lord and therefore using certian quualities may still not be apropriate.Anyways that just my personal view becasue I always pay close attention to spritual people, what they say, how they act.
Once Asma is out, the other singers will be tensed up because then anybody may get out anytime. So long as Asma was there, others were confident that they were safe although Asma proved them wrong for many weeks.

i fail to understand the bitterness and ill will generated by the episode of 13th dec.
i personally do not blame pakistan or the citizens of that country for their direct involvement in recent act of terrorism in mumbai. the centre of the terrorism in this region is pakistan occupied kashmir.some frustrated self-appointed misguided criminals are training gullible poor muslim youths in name of jehad and poisoning their minds by showing them videos of some stray incidents in india.the rulers of pakistan have passively supported such militant groups in kashmir and now their own country is also being targeted by the terrorists.
the recent terrorist attack in mumbai resulted in deaths of citizens of usa,uk,australia,israel and other countries and now the entire world wants to root out terrorism in this region particularly pok.
the pakistani rulers, mainly army generals are primarily responsible for growth of terrorist activities in pok and the monster of terrorism has grown to such an extent that present rulers are finding it difficult to control.
indians want pakistan to destroy training camps in pok and arrest all the misguided criminals who are managing those camps.
indian society is cosmopolitan in nature and we do not carry any ill-feeling against muslims in our country .
we indians love our muslims legends like dilip kumar,naushad,mohammed rafi, kaifi azmi, and among the present generation shahrukh khan,salman khan,aamir khan,shabhana azmi ,salim-javed,khalid a-h ansari(of mid-day news paper).our country had muslim presidents-the highest position in political set-up. we had muslim captain of our cricket team–mohammed azharuddin-,at present atleast 4 muslim cricket players are playig for india. we consider all those aforesaid pesonlities as indians-part and parcel of our society.
we have always welcomed singers , cricketers etc from pakistan and we treat them as our guests ;and we will continue to do so despite tensions generated by some misguided illiterate individuals in both the countries .

The terrorist incidences are increased in Pakistan after Zardari came to power because Zardari is a villain for them as he promotes democracy and demotes dictatorship. I am also aware of Zardari’s misdeeds but at least he is the one having one eye among all the blinds.
I hope and pray that Zardari will join hands with India and US in helping catching the terrorists. I believe he will and he has the best intention. Ms. Bhutto has created a niche of her own…she sacrificed her life in her efforts to bring peace in that country.

debojit dutta is an enigma in this show which always takes the viewers by surprise. he performed brilliantly .he concentrates hard when he performs and gives his 100%.debojit sang sai’s bhajan quite feelingly and as usual was very impressive.despite his slight stammering tounge debojit sings from the heart perfectly. he is one of the top contenders for the title.

Did anybody else notice that ever since India-Pakistani fighting started on this blog, there has been very little criticism of Asma? Otherwise (see the previous episode commentaries), every Tom, Dick & Harry used to pile on Asma. Like they would talk well of Soumen or Zaheer or Yashita and then make an obligatory comment about how bad Asma is. For no reason, sometimes.
LOL maybe it’s because they managed to make Asma sing a bhajan!!!!
If it’s one thing that majority of Indians like more than a Hindu singing a bhajan, it’s a Muslim girl singing a bhajan!!! And NO OFFENCE INTENDED OK!!! Before I get flamed here hahaha
I still think Zaheer skidaddled out of the country on his own accord. They probably didn’t even need to push him! Think about it. Mumbai becomes dangerous grounds for Pakistanis (no matter who) + Muslims become stereotyped on the show + bhajans and swamis visiting next round = Zaheer thinks it’s time to go home!! I really don’t think he minds guys…he’s done his job!! He’s a star! There have been uglier evictions in the past from this show…I think he got off pretty good!!
Vaishali Made has rendered “satyam shivam sundaram—-” perfectly . In my opinion she is far ahead of other performers.I have downloaded this song on my PC Media Player and repeatedly watched Vaishali’s performance . Atleast in one field, that is clarity of diction she is certainly better than the melody queen Lata Mangeshkar . Every vowel every word comes out crystal clear from the vocal chords of this marvellous singer. God bless you Vaishali . You are on threshold of a brilliant career in playback singing .

doc – you have summarised the farce of this show very accurately. i am glad i never got invested in this years version beyond the first few rounds, there were just no compelling singers or stories besides the aforementioned distractions.

I have been watching music reality shows from the year 1994 when Gajendra Singh and Sonu Nigam came together and presented a reality show on Zee tv titled Sargam. The title was changed to Saregama after a couple of episodes on the advice of Sonu Nigam.
I have recorded all episodes of Saregama Saregamapa(songs of my choice)from 1994 to 2004.
I also appeared as a guest at one of the episodes of saregamapa and the recorded interview with shaan was aired by Zee tv .I can tell you right now who has been eliminated in today’s episode on Zee tv ;but that will be unethical as the episode is yet to be aired .
The present Saregamapa programme has probably the finest group of singers ever presented on stage. The comments of all the bloggers hereinabove are meaningless and do not merit any reply ,as they have only exposed their ignorance about our traditional music based on classical raagas. The episode of 13th december was one of the finest ever presenred on tv channels. None of the above viewers appears to have concentrated on music part of the programme . Your knowledge about music is superfluous and your comments carry no weight here. ‘empty vessels thunder much’

A lay viewer will 100% say that participants of 2005 /2007 were far far better & the present bunch are not a patch to the formidable talents of .. Himani Kapoor, Nihira Joshi , Hemachandra in 05 & Mussarat, Amanat, Poonam , Aneek & Raja in 07.

I definitely watched JUNOON KUCHH KAR DIKHANA HAI ON NDTV IMAGINE CHANNEL– a very ambitious programme directed by Gajendra Singh.Some of the participants from Pakistan performed brilliantly and touched the soul of the viewers with soofi music.However due to inconvenient time-slot and non-availability of new channel on tv it had limited viewership and thereby the popularity of the show dipped. I agree with you that the Junoon—was the best show of its kind.
However my comments in regard to sare—of 13 instant were in context of music reality shows on Zee and Star Plus tv channels.
Regarding contestants of present Zee programme atleast 4 contestants can be compared with Himani,Nihira Joshi and others . In my opinion-I repeat in my opinion Vaishali as a singer is second to none. She is a winner of Zee’s Marathi Saregama show and that’s why she entered this present hindi show after the end of marathi programme.Vaishali sings in perfect sur and impresses with her melodious and high-pitched singing . Both Nihira and Himani were erratic at times while Vaishali is always in perfect sur and laya . She is likely to get many offers for playback singing as four top music composers are presently judging the contestants.

Agree with your assesment of Vaishali.. She , Pratibha & Zaheer were in my top 3 this year..
Hope your observations about her scintillating talents do bear fruit & we get to hear many chartbusters from this humble performer .
But the worry remains.. If titans like VijayPrakash, Md. Vakil, Amey Date , Dr. Neha Rajpal, Parthiv Gohil have failed to leave a significant mark in this industry.. what fate awaits a simple ,sincere singer like Vaishali??.

vijayprakash is quite popular playback singer in south and has rendered a difficult classical number in a recent hindi film.md. vakeel has cut an album which is quite popular dr neha rajpal performs as ghazal singer in concerts,parthiv gohil has sung in couple of films and he is now an established play back singer . many others who have participated in reality shows have recorded songs for films . as you may be aware shreya ghoshal,sneha pant -saregamapa finalists are now established play back singers.
you can go to any music site like smashits.com,dishant.com or raaga .com and just look for names of playback singers in new films . you will come across many new names who have sung in films. in india every good singer has tremendous scope to become a play back singer.

If you think singing 2-4 songs in mainstream cinema over a career of 10 years is tremendous scope I think Vaishali will be better off reopening that general store that she & her husband closed in their native place..

Hello NYCOOLJ, I have been following this forum since long time. I was reading your posts regarding Asma. Now pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase enough is enough. Your whole protesting Asma in a new way WAS good may be for the first few times, but now it is getting on to our nerves. We all know very well that she is a trained Arabic singer, so definitely she cant sing our music like others. But she is getting votes because of her jokes or comic behaviour or could be the whole middle-east voting for her. Now I request you to stop giving her a larger-than-life image and ridiculing her. Not so wise to do, especially for someone like you…I mean an educated person.
