Although YOU have been supporting specifically shoumen and debojit, even butted into the comment one person made against Aneek. THAT IS WHY i asked you if you are a bengali ….
So according to you, shoumen and debojit are the 2 best singers in this competition (this fact is obvious from all your post in which you have defended/supported ONLY these 2 contestants)

I dont have a problem with admitting that debo and shoumen are good singers when they sing good. BUT i DO have a problem with people such as Truth who support a singer on the basis of regionalism and not on the basis of Sangeet.
Those people can be aam janta like Truth or a musician or a music director. And these people are found on BOTH sides of the border and i have a problem with BOTH types.
And his comment of ‘broadening our minds’ is a slap in our face. Even the original comments made by Rizwana were to compare last years qawali round to this years round, and where Truth spewed his ‘regionalism’ without even understanding the comments.

For them Amanat was the best singer among the finalists.. That memory is so vivid in our collective minds I dont think I need to provide a link..Aneek was a good singer.. slightly immature.. His most memorable performances were offstage..Him & HR were insufferable in their Luv Stories .. Triangles.. Da bare chested act , Diya je ko proposal..All these are vivid in my memory & Frankly I dont remember a single song He had performed.. (my baad) …
Anyway if Farhan Akhtar the singer!! can make CD’s fly off the shelves in our great land Aneek is a Titan in comparision..My best wishes for the stupendous fullfilment of all his Khwaishein

VS said publicly (in india times, rediff and others) that Aneek is the deserving winner!
And if you watched saregamapa lil champs then you will recall that Ashaji, Sonu and Sudeshji all said that he was the most deserving winner!
I know a lot of people are still jealous of Aneek but I can’t help that!

I just watched a clip on timesofindia site where I saw Debojit & Soumen singing ‘Mujse Shadi Karogi’ with Salman Khan… I think in coming episode, Salman & Katrina are the guest judges.. I think to promote their movie ‘Yuvraj’.. i saw them sitting and judging the show and Himesh and everyone were there… looking forward to see Salman-Katrina chemistry… I really hope Katrina doesnt marry Salman…
That was an interesting exchange between Jimmy, Truth, Onlooker and our own Dockaul. How can I stay in the sidelines when un-truths and half-truths are flying across continents? Jimmy sounds honest and is likeable (welcome to the blog) but has some misconceptions. Truth is making his points succinctly. Thanks.
Aneek was the winner last year, fair and square, hands down, no doubt about that. His “Laaga chunri mein daag” which I just heard/watched on the episode where Pt. Jasraj declared him the winner, was out of this world.
I didn’t follow last year’s SRGMP so I don’t know how Amanat did eventually but I know he is not doing well now – no music director has signed him (not even Ismail Durbar) except Shankar-Ehsan-Loy who gave him a small part which flopped.
I also notice that some Pakistani bloggers here confuse Bengali with Bangladeshi (maybe because the latter crushed their occupation army). While they all speak the same language, Bengalis are Indian. So my Pakistani brothers, it does not make sense to say things like “Bengalis like Amanat but Indians don’t.” Bengalis have a long, ancient tradition in the arts, literature and music.
Big bro Dockaul is always playing the respectable diplomat who says “everyone is right”. Please vote for him – he will soon be running for a political office in Mumbai as Laloo’s partyman.
I bought Aneek’s album. I also want to but Amanat’s album when he releases one but I may have to wait a long time. Let’s buy and encourage them.
Of course, I enthusiastically welcome singers from Pakistan or any country to come to India. There is no question that Pakistan has some extremely talented singers. But I don’t know why the most talented ones do not make it through the Lahore auditions of SRGMP; Surely they have better singers in Pakistan than Zaheer, Amanat, Sara Raza and Mussarrat?

Now that Sara is out, Shankar & Adesh each have only one candidate left, and are in danger of being eliminated themselves. It will be disappointing to see either of them not be in the judges’ chair.
i think no need to worry as am not 100% but confident that shankar will be here till final as Pratibha is still there. I won’t discuss about caste because many of them sings so lovely that we can’t say who’s best and who’s worst but of course everyone do support his favourite. Some according to what caste but many due to singing still and others because that contestant belong to their favourite gharana (i.e they are fan of that judge).I’ll prefer to see at least on final Pratibha, Zaheer. But not all Shoman and vaisalli as they already won a prize and i think we’ve to give the chance an another one. Please do justice to participants. And without poking my nose in what don’t concern me i’ll only say just stop this matter of who’s from which caste.

@chachi 840 … your comments about Shafqat Ali’s appearance on SRGMP stage were right on the mark. If you listen carefully, he said, “I’ve just released an album. It was originally targeted at the Indian market and it contained sophisticated, high-brow classical songs. But in order to make sure Pakistanis would alson understand and buy my album, I had to dumb it down!”. His comment was in bad taste and so was his live singing. I think in the movie his song was “corrected” using computer software.
WAITING FOR PAKISTAN’S “A” TEAM
Fellow Indians, please do not underestimate the talent of Pakistan. They have only sent their B team, not their A team. Surely they have better singers than Amanat, Shafqat, Musarrat, Faraz, Zaheer, etc. I appeal to SRGMP’s Pakistani judges to send their “A” team next year if they have any hope of winning.
A little success went into the heads of Shafqat, Amanat, etc. They immediately broke their singing contract with the very people who gave them success. Amanat dissed Zee Tv and the Indian people – so now his fate is sealed.
Aneek was offered songs in many Bollywood movies but his father had him turn them down so that Aneek can focus on his studies. Before he came to SRGMP, Aneek had promised his parents that a singing career will not come at the cost of education. True Bengali. Bollywood and Pakistani fans can wait. He released an album instead which sounds terrific.

If you think this reality show has lot of ‘manipulation’ and judges siding with particular contestants, go and see what is happening in STAR VOI. I had really strong opinions about the Bengali leanings of Zee but all said and done my only grouse is that Asma has survived so far and Soumen is being underrated. Except Asma all the singers are very good and Veena’s comments are pretty spot on
Did some one say Sara got eliminated? well… she was definately better than Asma. At least her accent was not as thick as Asma. is there any particular reason why Asma is still in the run. Now please dont tell me she looks hot etc etc..
the three finalists should be Pratibha, Vaishali & Soumen. rest all can go. & these 3 will have to prove themselves so that no one can comment on their ability.
@SSG … Bengali leanings of Zee TV? If anything, Zee has made sure that Pakistanis and Omanis are given an unfair advantage over desi Indian singers. It’s true that some of our best singers come from NE India (including Bengal, Assam, Tripura, etc.) but let’s not forget Vaishali from Maharashtra and Pratibha from MP. I do feel Debojit and Soumen are both excellent singers, and Debojit’s simplicity is heart-warming. It’s time for Asma and Sara to return home.

That is the point.In your opinion, Aneek was not good enough to be the winner.But that is just your opinion. Both Amanat and Aneek were fabulous singers. Both of them were classically trained in their resp. gharanas. Most of us ( general public), do not have the knowledge to judge them on their technicalities.
IMHO both Aneek and Amanat had the potential to win.You definitely have the right to be frustrated at Amanat’s loss but please do not take away Aneek’s credit because he equally deserved the title.

On many occasions Shekhar said ” Amanat! you are the most versatile singer in this competetion”, and ” You are above this competetion”

I am neither Bengali nor Gujarati, but think that Aishwarya Majmudar was more deserving than Anwesha… I think most people thought the same and thats why she won..

Anwesha was one of the best female contestants of these reality shows (if not THE BEST)in recent years. Aishwarya was good but Anwesha was much better.
She did not win because public voted less for her.Do not want to bring regional issues here.

Aishwarya & Anwesha – both are way way better than all these female singers from Saregama this year… Aishwarya has attempted some of the most difficult songs and sang them perfectly like.. “Kesariya Balama”, “Albela Sanjan aayore”, “Manamohana bade jhoothe” – a very very difficult song.. even if that competition would have soley judged by judges I mean without the public voting, I am sure Aishwarya would have won it.. IMHO.
True…Aishwarya sang some really difficult songs.But Anwesha sang difficult songs too like “Bawariya re”, “ek radha ek meera”, “tere mehfil pe” and more recent ones like “gaa re mann piya piya”, “mere dholna”.To me she personified perfection.
I am not qualified to say who was better, but I thought Anwesha was more matured,had a better control and had an vast range.On the other hand Aishwarya’s voice quality was better and sang with a lot of feeling.
…IMHO Anwesha truely deserved to win.
One thing I agree 100% with you: they both were way better than the contestants (both male & female) we are discussing in this forum.

Viashali and Debojit a loved your perpormances. Keep it up. I think Viashali, Debojit and Yashita are the best singers and at least should be in top 3 if you look at at from a singing perspective not looks, being hot, cute or funny since its a singing competion. Pratiba is also a great singer but personaly i feel less emotions in her songs. I think Asma should have be out not Tarun and Sara again from a singing petspective and Afghan music lovers.
Has anyone seen the ZeeMarathi little champs sargamapa show? even those 8-10 year old ones sing thousand times better than most of the Zee Hindi Saregamapa contestants. Has any one tried to sing a particularly difficult song so far?
If they want to show real talent they must try some of the songs below..

Yeah, I have heard a lot about those kids since my parents get to watch it in India.. I live in USA and i have a dish but still i cant have zee marathi.. once or twice i tried to watch the program through desitv.com but broadcasting of all the channels was good except that of zee marathi…

Wow senty… geet gaya ‘patthharone’… Asma ‘Rocks’… wow… i havent come across the use of metaphor which is so subtle and yet such powerful impact… way to go…
Frankly speaking… this year’s saregamapa is really crap.. i dont understand why cant they select some other songs… its so boring to listen to the same songs again and again.. and no matter how well Soumen sang ‘Tu to jane na.. maine ki teri bandagi’.. i cant still forget how Raja sang it… Zaheer sang ‘Afreen’ this year but i still have Musarrat in mind…
Also.. i dont know why male contestants are loosing interest.. first Tarun.. and now Zaheer.. i think they feel that their own mentor HR is supporting girls… it shouldnt be that way.. whoever sings the best should win.. i remember in one of the episodes, Vaishali was the topper and Zaheer was 2nd topper and Aaditya asked HR how did he feel about that.. he said.. i know a girl will will this time.. i was like come on..
Anyway, but more than anything i get surprised that Asma was not even in bottom 3 in last episode.. which makes me think..is this for real? do people really vote for her? i dont know who’s going to be eliminated today.. i really feel that Shashi & Arshad would have taken the competition in another level.. Shame in HR that he chose to give a 2nd chance to Asma and not someone like Arshad..

I already heard Arya Ambekar “Rutu Hirva”.. when i was trying to watch it through idesitiv.com… she was fantastic.. after that there was some problem with the link and couldnt watch it further.. i am sure all of them are way better than the hindi saregama pa little champs…
The way there are ‘Natya sangeet’ songs are there and the way aple marathi singers sing them………..

Wow! This song reminds of the old format of SRGMP. I still have some of the DVDs of Sanjeevani, Bela Shende, etc. singing in the old format..! Probably singers like Amanat, Mussarat, Shashi would have gone further if it was a old format.

Please let’s focus on the singers, not on their demographics. It’s natural to support your own type but it’s extremely important to select the rightful winner. If I voted only for my best friends, I think my dog sings better that all contestants – but I still act more responsibly and vote for the princess of good music – Asma, who else?

Amey Date was my fav in Indian Idol a few years back.. where he made it to top 5 I think. There is so much talent out there… all the more irritating to jhelofy this new era nautanki.
