No new episodes for Saregamapa as Strike goes on…
Workers in India’s television industry have gone on strike again, just a day after unions brokered a deal with producers to end a two-week stoppage that deprived viewers of their favourite soap operas. So there will be no fresh episodes of Saregamapa Challenge 2009.
The strike was called off late Wednesday after serial producers agreed to demands from members of the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) to increase pay and improve working conditions. But some members of the umbrella body of 20 organisations refused to accept the deal and voted to extend the strike on Thursday, saying union leaders had not consulted them.
The producers had agreed to give set assistants a 35 percent pay rise, pay a monthly rather than a daily wage, as well as introduce a contract system and guarantees that no worker would be laid off without a month’s notice. But some FWICE-affiliated unions, including those representing boom operators and make-up artists, said it was still a raw deal and refused to report for work, demanding more money.
“We are unhappy with the deal and so have decided to strike,” the president of the Sound Department union, B.N. Tiwari, was quoted as saying by the Times of India newspaper.

Me too sad and davastated with the horrible incidents in Mumbai, and condemn by all means the terrorist acts.
But Raj, these people are not representative of muslims, rather a disgrace and shame of worst kind. Al Qaeda is a product of USA which was used against Russia and same is with Talibans.
Islam is a religion of peace and harmony but a bunch of people are abusing its name, and some others with their vested interests are taking advantage of this situation but the blame keeps coming on the muslims and this is putting us under a complex situation i.e. whenever there is a terrorist act, the fingers are pointed to the muslims. There is a very need of assessing and investigating the incidents before pointing the fingers to any one. This could be the conspiracy of those who dont want to see a thaw in the relations of India & Pakistan. Both governments should work together to reach the root of this conspiracy.
We also should not restrict ourselves to look into the things as they appear but try to get insight of that.
I pray, may Allah punish the enemies of humanity with the most harsh way, give courage to the victim families to withstand this tradegy, and all of us to remain determined against all the conspiracies.

In fact there are educated Muslims who have started doing it already. If you guys heard of Assam problem specially related to Bangladeshi insurgents. These Mujahiddins somehow got mixed up with these Bangladeshi (all Muslim) immigrants and started creating problems in Northeast. As a result everyone started blaming all the Muslims of Assam even the welleducated khandani Muslims became victims of stereotypes. Lately all the educated Muslims of the NorthEast took a bold step of joining the AASU (all Assam Student Union) and openly declared that they are not a part of these groups and they in fact are helping them by all means to catch the terrorists.
I mean to say that it’s possible to come out and openly protest against this. Reminds me of the beautifully made movie “Shoot on Sight”.

I saw some glimpses of srgmp episode this weekend while switching channels. So I am sure there was some re-runs of the show. Dont know which episode was re-ran.

How do we combat an enemy that is in the form of a thought process, an ideology, that simply believes in mindless destruction. How do we explain little kids getting trained to grow up and die in their early 20s?? I don’t know if any anti-terrorism squad or intelligence agency of any country has the squad or intelligence to deal with this ideology, the way it is today.
We need to breed a whole new generation of minds, of thought processes that counteracts, to purge our planet of this dirt. Dunno how it could be done, but until then, we are for sure leaving behind a very dirty and stinking planet for our kids.
I don’t understand the purpose behind this so called religious war.. this so called martyrdom .. the reason behind mindless killing … and getting killed in the process. It’s mindboggling, how advanced technologies are being used for a “cause” that is centuries old in its beliefs..
I have some very close friends, Muslims, many are from Pak, they are my friends in the US, colleagues.. we share life at work, we have similar joys and sorrows to deal with, work stress, kids, school, weather, traffic, gas price … and it breaks my heart to see the embarrasment they go through each time this topic is raised.

I just saw a clipping on one of the forthcoming episodes of Saregamapa…
It had Aamir Khan as the guest i guess promoting his ‘Ghajini’.. looked like a fun episode but i couldnt spot Vaishali anywhere.. I am afraid she’s eliminated.. absolutely shocking.. i thought she would be one of the top 3.. looks like this episode was shot on Saturday after her elimination.. Zaheer was wearing sangeet chakra.. so he might have been the one with highest votes.. Debojit, Asma, Pratibha, Zaheer, Asma & Soumen were there..
I am a big Aamir Khan fan so looking forward to this episode.. but will be really sad if Vaishali’s gone…….

I think saregamapashow should be called off now after the mumbai incident especially the way indian media has shown it and spread it like a poison against Pakistan im sure now no one is going to vote for zaheer!!so the show isnt going too be fair now…
Pakistani people have proved to be weak in dealing with the bad-apple terrorists among them. They just stand by, watch, apologize and get killed by the terrorists. Their government is just as worthless.
It doesn’t matter whether Pakistan is unable or unwilling. If they are unwilling to control the terrorists, they are complicit. If they are unable to get rid of terrorists from their land, they should give up that land to India.

I feel an excruciating pain somewhere deep inside when I see the map of India with “kata huwa gala” in CNN NEWs. After 25 yrs from now the map will be one with the “kata huwa left hand”. The whole of Northeast will be gone. I am not sure how many of you know that Assam is going through what J&K went through. The ISI, Lashkar-E_Taiba along with many Bangladeshi immigrants(turned into millitants)are burning the poor villages of Assam and putting up their flags there. They want to make it a Taliban. The govt won’t do anything because the state govt. got to power because of the votes of them.

I feel the same way as you about the Northeast states. They have always been neglected (because they were home to any *so-called* high profile politician).And there are people dying there everyday and totally going unnoticed.
However I think, now that the financial capital of India has been attacked, it has gained international coverage and the politicians are being forced to take the matter of national security seriously. So atleast the officials are under pressure to take action.
Let’s hope they really do something this time . Clearly the northeast states cannot be ignored or they will become training grounds for terrorists.What we need is to cut out the supplies of the terrorists and seal our borders (not just Pakistan but also China, Bangladesh, Nepal).
India should clearly understnad what is at stake her. Its prosperity as a world economic power is at stake. Its honor and pride as the world’s largest secular democracy is at stake. Indeed, its very existence is at stake and also at stake is its aspirations to become a superpower and a member of UN Security Council.
This is an opportune moment for India to strike terror into the heart of terrorists and their passive supporters. The world community is with us – the US has given the green flag, China and other world powers are urging India to act. None of the other countries have the brain power and the fire power to subdue terrorism – they are begging India to lead.

Currently I am visitng India and clearly there are signs of change. The public is clearly pissed off. They are showing their anger against the politicians and protesting publicly against these politicians irrespective of which party they represent.I feel this is a giant leap for the Indians.
However NYCOOLJ, not sure about China’s intention. I don’t honestly think they are supporting us. China is emerging as the next superpower and clearly India is their biggest rival.It is possible that china is even supporting (financially and by providing arms)the terorists being trained in Pakistan/Afganisthan, to gain total control.
China will beg India to attack Pakistan? My dear friend China is supporting Pakistan with every possible way.. arms, money and investment..
One of my Pakistani friend told me once when on Kargil war, that China is asking Pakistani government for the only chance to further attack and gain more land including the tibet region.

i think it just shows that people of Pakistan and India just want peace and have the same sorrows and joys. Recently the attack on Marriots, among many others including Benazir’s assasination was one big example of how incidents like this in Pakistan have affected the people there.
My heart and prayer goes out to Mumbai, the victims and their families… I think atleast this forum where people got to interact because of a show and their mutual love of music and drama
I think its time we act as intelligent citizens of our countries and demand the governments to provide protection and instead of quickly blaming each other or communities.. i’m sure they have more resources than this…

Killing of innocent people is not acceptable and every one condemn it strongly. But please check the attitude of Indian media and Government. They start blaming Pakistan even after 30 minutes of the attack with out any investigation. This is total childish that these people came from karachi. How is it possible?
Your Navy is there, coast Guard is there and you have a massive radar system and it is not possible to cross it with weapons. I studied it personally that one ship have to go through 20 circles of radar system it is going to Mumbai from karachi. This very active costal line and happening area under strong observation. Indian Navy is very quick in capuring the poor fishermen when they cross even one inch of the disputed area.
Indian Medai has proved the case in the air with out investigation and stron evidence. The distance between karachi and mumbai is 500 nauticle miles and it take around 50 hours to reach mumbai from karachi.
Think on other lines as well..

India Blame Pakistan on Parliament and samjhota express attacks. But after investigation india’s on service cornel and indian extremist was involved.

I totally agree with Umar’s comments. i have also studied and about possiboilities of terrorist going from Karachi to Mumbai and it’s impossible. India has got very strong monitoring system in their sea.
ofcourse what has happened is really condemnable and there is curse of God in terrorist who did mumbai attacks or any attack in the worrld on innocent people.
But we are the sensible people and should not just blame each other we shoudl try to analyse all the situation. Pakistan is already fighting with the terrorist (produced by US and Israel). I am living in UK and i have got many friends who are from India (both Hindus and Muslims) and believe me even they were having strange attitude with me after they listened to Indian media and then i explained all the situation to them and they or OK now. But I can’t explain to whole world now.
I must say the Indian Media is the most irresponsible media in the world. The general people of both the coutries love each other but it’s the Politiacians and media (Playing in foreign hands) of both countries make their money on the cast of public of india and pakistan.
