Saregamapa challenge 2009 Written Update – 17th october

Today is the theme of sufi songs.. The whole stage is designed to create a sufi environment. But today there will be one who will get eliminated and we will get the top 10 contestants..
The show beings with a voice saying about the journey of SRGMP C2009 and also that today one among the awesome 11 will get eliminated..
Each of the mentor introduce their gharana.
Aditya directly announces the topper for today.. The one to top is Zaheer Abbas from Rock gharana. He sings khwaja mere khwaja from Jodha Akbar. MD and Singer – AR Rehman.
Vaishali gives the sangeet chakra to Zaheer.. She says, I am really happy because this sangeet chakra will remain in our gharana

The second topper is Pratibha from Lakshya gharana.. Aditya asks, which flag should fly high this time? She says, The one that deserves should fly.. She sings ali more angna. Singer – Shubha Mudgal.

Soumen Nandi is the third topper.. Aditya asks whom does he think is god? He says, God is mother for me so I will sing for my mother.. He sings Saiyaan.. MD and singer – Kailash Kher.

Shujat is called on stage. Aditya says, we have seen that if we tell the results before the performance, the contestants are bound to be upset.. So, we will announce the results after your performance.. He sings Sajan de mat.. MD and Singer – Mekaal Hasan Band..
Shankar – Very good attempt and I felt the emotions were little less – Superhit
Himesh – In this genre, the voice that we are looking for is Shujat.. History
Aadesh – I also felt that you did not connect with the song.. But will give history for your effort.. History
Pritam – I will pray that very soon you record some song and it comes out in the market..
Pritam announces that Shujat is in bottom three.

Kaushik Deshpande is called on stage.. Aditya asks, if you will be in bottom three.. Kaushik says, I have been in between the lines for the past few weeks and guess I will be in between the lines this week also.. He sings toota toota ek parinda. MD – Vishal Shekhar. Singer – Kailash
Himesh – All singers are doing really well and there is no question of flop or average. Hit when they fall a little short, superhit like you – Gives History
Pritam – It was perfect, but the life was less.. Superhit.
Aadesh – Your emotions were less but technically you were perfect.. Superhit
Shankar – You are little short of history.. But you were technically perfect.
Shankar announces that Kaushik is in bottom 3.

Vaishali of Rock gharana is called on stage.. Aditya asks have you seen god and what do you feel of god? She says, for all that I have faced I always thought there is no god.. But after I met my husband and winning SRGMP Marathi, I always feel god takes many tests, but atlast gives us happiness. Aditya asks how does manage the family, her kid and also the riyaz.. A clipping is shown where her husband helps her in household job and she does riyaz while doing the house hold work.. She sings tujhe dekh dekh sona.. MD – Anu Malik.. Singer – Rahet Fateh Ali khan.

Tarun says, we sing this before singing any qawalli.. Shankar requests him to sing the beginning again.. Tarun says Today I feel that I am singing in a darga.
Himesh creates a small drama trying to act as if Tarun is in bottom line.. He hands over the envelope to Aditya and asks him to announce the results.. Aditya announces that he is in between the lines.. Only then Shankar says Himesh is an actor and Pritam says today his film had a blockbuster opening..

Himesh – You are very good.. Take blessings and keep the good job. History
Pritam – Hopefully next episode you will get the sangeet Chakra.. You have made us proud.
Pritam gives the envelope to Aditya and he announces that she is in bottom 3.

I am so happy to hear the Pratibha is in the second place. I am sure after Naina’s elimination and Shakar Mahadevan’s comment about the reason for her elimination, janata ki ankhein khol gayi.

This List is based on their recent and previous performences. Soumen & vishali may b better than yashita. But they have less performences. So Yashita has the edge. Zaheer is the best becoz from 1st round(Chakkar view) he performed very well.

I think Yashita has been the most consistent of all and good at all genre. Every time she sang she scored history with all judges. Also she is the most confident of all in performing on the stage.
Soumen and Zaheer are very good also and have been very consistent. I feel Soumen is the dark horse, he may have some great performances before all is said and done.
Pratibha is a notch below the above three because she has not been as consistent compared to above 3. Her genre is classical variety and no one beat her at that I think.
Debojit is good, he is an emotional singer but not not as consistent as the above 4. He sings from the heart and no one can come close to him in singing from the heart.
Vishali had couple of great peroformances but again not consistent and is sort of all over the chart with her performances…even today she was mediocre.
The remaining 4 are not in the league of above 6 and should be eliminated before the above 6 if people vote according to the talent on display in various genre, not just one week.
One singer who was unfairly eliminated was Mitika Kanwar. She was a versatile singer and was great at falseto. She needed to be in the top 7 or 8 at a minimum.
I agree Mitika should still be here. Was sad to see Kaushik go – he is very good.
Yashita rocked!! It is sad that people are still intimidated by confident women. Wish her all the best.
I wish Zaheer will be the winner of this competion.Keep up Zaheer, the whole India is with you and voting for you without any hesitation. India Know how to appreciate a good singer like you. We feel proud of you boy!
Sara does not deserve this stage. Other singers are far better than her. and above all- she maintains this aura around her like she is superior – comes from heaven or some place like that
Sarah should be eliminated. she has a
“we are Pakistani, we are the greatest – you are nothing” attitude.
Singing wise also she is below average.

Zaheer was MINDBLOWING.
I think he is amomg the top 3 contestants to win SRGMP.
But then again, are the votes real or does ZEE make them up?
If they are real, he might not wing, because SRGMP is a POPULARITY contest, and i dont think Zaheer is popular. He never created drama, looks old, lost hair and look 28… srry thats how i think it is.
