Maybe Asma is working very hard but still there is SOMETHING wrong. Other contestants said what they felt and it is true as Shankar said she is a weak performer. She is taking undue favour by the audience or “ZEE”.
Yashita was in “BOTTOM THREE” and this week she got “Chakkar”. Arey bhai koi “CHAKKAR” hay. What a variation in voting just like stock exchange.
Shujat was right. Zee TV is now DRAWING a line between Pakistani and Indian singers. Aditya comes with very loaded statements: …kon jeetay ga India k Pakistan ( aur sath main thora sa Oman).
Asma is still there…love you all the music lovers! Don’t mind guys, it’s something called “personal opinion” etc etc.

I wonder why SAREGAMAPA authority is palying such dirty game with these young contestants!!! First Debojit, then Tarun and this time poor Asma. These people sure do not care about anybody but their sick publicity.
Very sad to know that what I had feared has come true.. Shujat is eliminated. I really dont know why Zee is playing this game to keep Asma safe!! Or wonder if she is really getting these votes.. I think next week it will be either Debojit or someone from HR’s gharana. If not Asma, it will be either Debojit or Vaishali. Another thing I feel about Zee this year is they dont want Sara to be elimninated soon.. they want to publicize ‘Pakistan ki Beti’ more than anything..
I dont know why they are having this India/Pakistan thing.. the voters should vote only for the best singer and not someone from their own country. I feel in this contest Zaheer is the true winner.. His singing has not only been upto the mark but another main thing is that he’s been consistant. I also feel that if Tarun or Vaishali or Yashita wins, thats also no probs because they all sing well.. but I dont like Tarun’s attitude..
Also, wanted to ask if anyone heard the song Amanat Ali sang in Dostana.. I did hear the song and I was very disappointed. All he sings is ‘Mere Maula mere maula’ in the beginning, at the end and between the two stanzas. He hasnt sung the full fledged song. Just like what Kailash Kher sang ‘Subhanallah.. Subhanallah..’ in the song ‘Chand Sifarish’ from film Fanaa. The Dostana song has been sung by Vishal Dadlani (vishal-shekhar) and Shreya Ghoshal. Whatever Amanat has sung is very sweet but looking forward to hearing him sing a full fledged song..

I also didn’t like the polarisation in this episode. After getting the standard to this height, it doesn’t look logical to vote on the basis of country. Whoever sings the best, should win.I also feel that the participants were enticed to comment against Asma. This should be avoided.
You actually think they were enticed to comment. They know their comments are going to be aired, so why say such hurtful things. Zee is also stupid for airing the comments, I hope they learn their lesson and clean up their act or else I will just stick with Indian Idol where Anu Malik calls it the way it should be called.
Yes I agree with you as well. They are not kids. But the thing is why did Zee Tv created this Drama. This wasn’t participants private conversation. They were asked individually and probably they might have been guided what to say.

Like many others, I just dont feel good about the managements strategy about creating such dramas and also portraying as a war between the 2 countries. I am sick of it and hate it. I was enjoying the good music till now.But if this goes on, then Ill have to stop watching this programme

I am so turned off with all the drama that took place. Shame on the contestants for being so cruel and Shujat just proved he is a typical male slime. “Divorce is such a bad thing in the Muslim culture, stop your singing” Who the hell does he think he is giving such advice. Yes Asma is not that great of a singer but how can all the contestants be so cruel. Everyone’s true colors definitely showed today.

Debojit’s special status … sara’s comment regarding leaving the show because of things being said in pakistan about her … tarun and Kaushik’s fight … prathiba and yashita’s rivarly … Asma’s mother’s divorce last week and her being bashed by all the contestants this week … Even in addition to indopak rivarly, Zee is introducing Lahore and Mumbai ‘waat lagaing’ competition!! wow .. talk about focus marketing …
The contestants are not children … they know that things they say will be aired … they probably have to play with Zee’s scheme of keeping the emotional drama going …

I think zee judges each contestant on his/her perceived entertainment value … and when someone is at the bottom i.e. he/she cannot bring in more revenue in terms of SMS .. or drama to the format by whatever means … is eliminated …
Naina was a simple human being, always smiling hence boring, so she got out … although she had massive singing potential … mitika didn’t play along with her love affair when Pritam announced it … so she is out … Kaushik played along but was getting boring … shujaat also tried with his phony flirtatiousness but didn’t succeed … Asma still is bringing that ‘entertainment value’ to the table … when she stop doing that then she will be shown the door …

I hate this show. Today Shujat got eliminated even he was good singer. I think ZEE tv is doing all the purposely for TRPs.
I definitely beleive it’s all staged. ie, they want certain contestants to stay on the show, ie, Sara. I also think they want certain contestants out, ie, Tarun. which is a shame, cause he is such a good singer. Did you guys notice, that today’s episode, he had the worst song? I never heard of that song. I read an interview by the contestants, where they said that they don’t pick the songs, they are chosen for them!!
I will reserve my rankings until after tommorow’s show…For today I thought Sara, Yashita were extremely good…. Vaishali, Prathibha and Debu were okay…..Zaheer and Soumen were less than okay level….Tarun and Asma were less than average.

I have no comments about Debojit’s comments on Asma because he is a “special child” and sometimes he doesn’t even know how he acts…for example the way he says “Arz hai” with that piculiar posture before starting his shayeries..proves that poor chap doesn’t realize what he is doing.
So I actually sympathize with him for his behavior!!!

asma got comments on her personal life because she opened her personal life on stage……… and i wonder if a person can sacrifice her mother for just singing on that stage
and the outburst of other contestant is fair ……. asma gets history even for mediocre performance just on the base that she is improving but it is a competition and the judgement should be on a comparison basis and not individual growth
asma is nowhere close to the eliminated singers like naina , kaushik, mitika n shujat……….. and i think esp aadeshji is too biased abt her….

I’m not a fan of Asma, but here is what I have to say:
Even though Asma may have revealed her personal life on stage, that does not give the contestants any right to comment on it! Neither is Shujat anyone to say what he did. And though people might say that their comments on Asma are justified because Asma is, undoubtedly, the weakest singer of the lot, the fact still remains that they are no Lata Mangeshkar to judge her singing. They aren’t even the judges to judge her. If they really feel that she does not deserve to be in the contest, they could have put their opinions across in a mature manner – like Yashita and Sara. It was completely unnecessary to take cheap potshots on other people like how Debojit did. He didn’t come across as a “special” child at all. And as someone pointed out on another site, if Debojit’s comments were really scripted by Zee TV, why would they let him refer to Laughter Challenge which airs on a rival channel? If he is really a “special” child, it is the responsibility of his parents to ensure that he does not do anything that might embarrass himself – which I do not think they have upheld at all.
I am disgusted with the levels of stupidity this show has reached.

What happened on 24th, was one of the such dirty HATHKANDA. The management should be ashamed of putting this kind of dirty games. The participants were interviewed about Asma individually. It was not a conversation between the participants.And then wickedly, they put it on air to create a drama. “Show ko Hit Karaney Ka Hathkanda” as narrated by the host in above mentioned video clip.
They are also trying to portray it as a JANG between the two countries, which is wrong.
I think Zee TV should avoid such Hathkandas ,otherwise this beautiful contest will end in controversy.

You must have gone through the comments and realized the level of rage for creating this kind of controversy. I am a Pakistani and living in Dublin. I watch this programme with my beautiful Indian Friends. We watch this for entertainment, for music, nothing else.This is not a cricket match being palyed at Mohali or Lahore. This is a contest of music, which has no language, no religion, no boundaries. And you people are trying to generate hatred in music. Millions of viewers all over the world must have been disturbed what you people are trying to do. I was enthralled by the love and affection shown by Indians to Pakistani singers. The viewrs were commenting and judging the contestants on their SANGAT nothing else. This programme is providing a base for love and affection.
And now you people are trying to convert it into a contest based on boundaries.
I would request rather not to invite singers from other countries in future. I will still watch this programme and millions of viewers around the world as well. As we love music but we dont want to see another contest based on hatred and drama.

From a talent and competition level this show has indeed been a disgrace to all.But I was flabbergasted yesterday when for the “Aaj Kal Tere Mere” Song sung by Asma, the channel said the original singers were Rafi / Asha. A show at such a International level, atleast check your facts. Its a Rafi /Suman duet.
It’s a big insult to a great singer. I am writing to Zee response, they should atleast apolozise.

Judges give proper feedback. The back stabbing selfish contenstants here have made a big cock up by having a go at Asma it will def back fire. Honey Bear cum Gorrilla to go next!!!!
At first I got all excited that Amanat finally had his OWN song, but after I heared it I was very disappointed!! I mean come on, his voice is way to good to use for JUST that 1 line or so.
Lets hope that his full fledged song will come our way very soon!!

Wow, what a brilliant show Zee TV put together this weekend. Congratulations to their creative team! If I had to summarize the success of the show in one word, I would say: Asma. Her mere presence lights up the stage like nobody’s business.
This weekend’s shows had all the hallmarks of a blockbuster.
DESIGNS FOR GLOBAL DOMINANCE
It was an excellent theme – India vs Pakistan vs Oman. Oman came out victorious which makes me proud as a hard-core Indian. Despite what some bloggers may surmise, we Indians are proud to see an underdog fight back and win. Alas, this year Pakistan lacks in the talent department. Their best soldier, Zaheer, sounds like an ancient Roman town crier.
REVENGE OF THE PRINCESS OF OMAN:
Shujat said nasty things about the dignified, poised princess Asma. So did Zaheer, Yashita, Soumen, Tarun, Debojit, etc. She forgave Debojit because of his childlike innocence – and his powerhouse talent – and also because he openly professed his love for Asma! Others were all mean to Asma so she has a surprise planned for them next week. Sorry, you have to wait and find out.
INDIANS RULE
Though Oman stole the show, the real winner was India because Indians always vote for the best singer irrespective of country of origin. Last year, they voted for Aneek who was clearly better than Amanat and Raja (Amanat’s recently released song bombed though Shankar-Ehsan-Loy gave it their best shot). This year, it may be Soumen or Debojit, both from Bengal, who can easily learn better Hindi/Urdu pronunciation, and beat the competition. But Indians are in love with Rock Kanya Asma who will carry the flag of Indian music to all corners of the world. Sarah and Pratibha (is she looking hotter every week? Asma is helping her) are improving. Yashita should sign up with Hollywood or Broadway – she sounds far too Western. The dark horse in all this? Debojit, the child Romeo.
PAKISTAN IS TRYING
Pakistan is certainly a worthy opponent. In my opinion, to win SRGMP, they need to send a handsome, modern singer, not an ugly classical singer (like someone from the band called Fuzon). Also more women will enhance Pakistan’s image and the odds for winning.
SEE YOU ON THE MOON
Kudos to ISRO, We are the 6th nation to plant a flag on the moon. This will help us expand our musical range. Ismail Durbar’s “Chaand Chhupa Badal Mein” is directly lifted from a French song but now he can claim he was inspired by his first-hand knowledge of the lunar surface (I mean we should put him on the spacecraft and dispatch him).
FINAL WORD
A new (or renewed) wave of nasal singing is going to pervade and prevail on the musical landscape over the next decade. Leading the charge: Rock Kanya Asma who will champion the cause of poor kids through her singing.
It’s disappointing to see how conformist most folks here are! Though many of you complain about te judges, the reality is most of you cannot see past Yashita and Zaheer. And the reason is obvious – it’s because the judges have praised them the most. And all of you, despite pretensions to the contrary, are like a herd of goats following the shepherding judges.
Please, develop your own sense of music, make your own decisions, vote for the truly deserving – don’t just follow the judges blindly.
Close your eyes. Listen to the songs. Then ask, mirror, mirror, who is the most beautifully nasal of them all?
The Rock Kanya Asma. The path-breaking princess -singing, dancing and spreading joy to the world!
A very disappointing show. I had a house full of family and friends with tears i their eyes for Asma. I was totally shocked as well. Not fair to hit on Asma the way all her fellow contestants have done. Asma comes from an Arabic back ground, she obviously enjoys singing, which is what she is doing, she has learnt to speak and sing the Hindi language as well, she is trying, give her the benefit.
Asma did not pour out to the viewers her recent personal encounters, she had just mentioned that her parents have divorced due to her wanting to sing. Fat Debojit is not a “special child”, if he is, he should be playing with stones at home and not singing. She knows very well what he says, and that silly stomach act of his, makes him look retarded.
As for the Jack Sh*t Shujat, one things good is that he god out. He does not sing well at all and he had absolutely no right to comment on Asma’s parents divorce. He deserves to go out….IDIOT….
Go back to the recordings for this episode, none of the contestants have sung well. They have their good and their bad days. All we see is that if they perform poorly, the excuses start pouring in, like I’m not feeling well or someone called in and said that I should have sung in praise of ALLAH, what nonsence.
Sara and Yashita, I would think that they are traitors towards Asma to have said such hurtful things about her. Asma has always been true friends to them and she has supported them as well.
Tarun hasn’t been doing to well himself, he’s been quite useless recently.
What about Vaishali, she’s working on the pity of her husband. She’s actually worse off than Asma, she should be sitting at home taking care of her husband, instead of passing silly comments to others.
I short, this Zee was totally unprofessional to broadcast these comments, and therefore have become a BIG JOKE to world out here. I have lost my respect for the heartless contestants for their comments, and I think that having a stone heart is better than having the hearts that these contestants have. It portrays they upbringing and the dirt they habour in their hearts.
They suck…..

I completely agree with you that Asma is an inspiration to all young people who have dreams; she shows us how to go about achieving our dreams with tenacity and a smile. We Indians love Asma; I vote for her thousands of times every week. In Hindu we call her the Rock Kanya!
How’s everything going in RSA (I guess it is Royal Saudi Arabia?). In my hometown NYC, mayor Bloomberg got the laws changed so he can run for a third term.
However, there are some points you make on which I am not with you 100%.
I think Zee did us a service by airing the nasty comments and exposing the two-faced hypocrites. It was a touching show as evidenced by your family members all crying. That’s what we want on TV.
Debojit is just a child Romeo. He is not fully aware of himself. He actually loves Asma (and all the other babes).
The rest of them were just mean and jealous.
Asma is the future of Bollywood music. She is going to win the SRGMP crown and rule Bollywood. Her movie about the camel-and-stick is going to be a hit, and will be remade in India by Himesh (with Himesh in the role of the camel’s caretaker).
