As per the show, it should be named “Himesh Reshmmiya promoting show” instead of SAREGAMAPA.They are so nackedly promoting this annoying chap and his gharana that is so shameful. Last time, Anik was good but not better than Amanat Ali, or Raja Hasan. Even Poonam Yadov was better than him, manipulating managed to make him the winner.
This time, each and every judges were saying to Debojit” I will be very happy if u become the winner, you deserve it”. When himesh got Vaishali (who is avarage in comparason to Debojit Zaheer, Yashita, Pratibha & Mitika)suddenly Himesh started to shout “woman will be the winner”.. I am afraid if this maniipulating dude has already started to play his dirty cards to have her winning the show!!!!
I used to watch the videos on this website before but have dish now but still regularly check this website and read your comments…
I dont know but i got confused by some of the previous episodes.. like for example if you take last week’s (ie friday’s & saturday’s) episodes. Do the participants know what they are going to sing in the coming episodes? I think they have to know cos they have to practice the songs. Like in today’s episode, they all knew they were going to sing Sufi songs. Last friday, the top 3 & the bottom 3 sang the songs in IPL episode & the between the line contestants sang HR’s Karzzz songs. That means that both the days there were different themes.. the episodes were different but they all were wearing the same clothes so i believe that they shot both the episodes on the same day. If half of the contestants were going to sing Karzzz songs, didnt they know that they were going to be in between the lines???
Also, I have a doubt now how the voting works.. one day all Indian contestants are in bottom three and the next time its the turn of the Pakistani contestants. I think they want Asma to be in top 10 cos the top 10 contestants go for world tour and they want to cash on her popularity (I strictly believe that its her charm and not singing). Obviously its Kaushik’s turn today cos SM’s gharana has the maximum nos of contestants. Soumen Nandi wont be eliminated until the few last episodes cos AS will be out too if he’s out now. I think next week it will be Shujat and not Asma (I hope I am wrong).
I still miss last year’s season. Be it Amanat, Raja, Aneek, Poonam, Sumedha, Junaid or Harpreet or even Mauli. I dont consider Mussarat as participant.. his singing was just out of the world and his level was way up than any other contestant’s. I think all of them performed extra ordinarily and still mesmerize me whenever i see their videos on youtube. I think this year my personal favourits are Zaheer, Vaishali, Tarun & Yashita. If totally the singing is considered and there has to be a winner from this year, it has to be Zaheer. His singing is perfect – technically correct, he is always attached to the song, has the most perfect diction of all.
Let’s see what happens in coming episodes…& lets see who wins!!
I just cant believe that Asma has not been even in bottom 3 for 2-3 weeks and wonder if the JANATA is really voting for her!! I just think something is not right just becos one week 3 contestants are in bottom 3 and in next episode, totally different 3 contestants are in bottom 3!!
BTW, in today’s episode Kaushik is eliminated and HR tells him that he should compose 100 tunes and then come to him, he would set a meeting with him and producers, i was thinking, he should never go to HR with his tunes, I am sure he will steal half of his tunes

Today, her immediate response “Ithihas” to “what is ‘history’ in Arabic?” was so fake.
In Arabic “history” is translated to either “tareekh”, “hikayah” or “sajjal”.. it has more then one translations because Arabic is more comprehensive language as compared to english..
I am watching this programm since couple of years. I was amazed coz of some decisions, which were made last couple of days. Naina was a good singer, but unfortunately she is not there. Coz she don’t have the skill to creat some drama. But in this episode i think the decision is the best, coz Zaheer is unmatchable. The way he sings, his personality, his approach. I think he has all the characters that an ideal play back singer should have. From beginning untill now he song different modes of songs. I hope that all the people, either from my India or rest of the world should vote for him, because he deserves to be the winner.

Everbody talks about Zaheer’s consistency but what about Pratibha, Yashita and Debojit?

Debojit is amazing. I think he is just a victim of Himesh’s dirty manipulation.. Otherwise, A taelnted biy like Debojit has it all to win this contest and he deserves it. I do notknow why SAREGAMAPA had to show that judges were praising him out of sympathy!!! That is so mean…

Everyone was pretty good today. Zaheer and Yashita were the toppers IMHO.
Zaheer..ne pachhad diya competition ko. Sure. His voice is awesome.
Pratibha’s Ali more angna daras dikha… great song, great performance. Her part in the song was less but jo bhi apne hisse mein tha.. she nibhaaoed well.
If I may say so.. degree of difficulty ke hisaab se I felt Shujjat’s song was tough. Usske liye he should get extra points. I agree he missed the soul. Almost always does
Vaishali.. nice. Her voice is sounding way better than it did in her first and second performances.
One majjjjjor complaint – she went “dadak dadak” instead of “dhadak dhadak” .. and since this word carries the song to a large extent, this mis-uchharan diluted the “feel” of the song for me.
Debu.. was good. Sur bahot ird gird ho rahe the. Looks like he is working on the lisp. It is not so apparent in his recent performances. No history wistory today. Maybe a super hit.
Tarun has a very sufish voice. Brave attempt at NFAK’s Alla hoo. Tarun was almost there. Bahot feel se gaaya.
Yashita was mindblowing today. Again. She is such a consistent singer.
Why did she get into the bottom three? What went wrong with her last week’s tandoori nights?? I’ll tell you.. her darn costume.. She looked horrendous last week. Sorry.
Anyways, if public is really voting.. and Zee is really countng.. then she should be ok next week.
Sara .. Come on ppl !! She is not that bad ! Her voice is a bit over-playful.. but she is not that bad as I keep hearing in this forum. Ya..I would advice her to not smile through out the song. Her voice is very old fashioned. I think she will be good in an old Noorjehan number like “mujhse pehli si mohabbat mere mehboob na maang..”
Asma .. my most fav The jaan of the show.. She actually sang well ! Seriously ! On the “Asma scale” she scored History !
Overall it was a very entertaining episode.. partially coz of the “round” of the day.. Sufi..soul.
For argument’s sake.. wonder why we always go wah wah over songs that go high notes.. how about a lo notes round. It will be interesting to see low notes ke sur kaun ustaad theek se laga sakta hai.

As far as shujaat is concerned.. i think that person is under-appraised.. Only mistake he makes is moving his body during the song.. I think if you re-hear same song with your eyes closed (or without watching the “performance”), you will feel the soul completely present in his singing..
ha ha ha.. i hope you change your liking to loving.. .. its gona speed up the process..
consistancy has been only the strong hold of Asma.. all the other contestants have had bad proformances.. but Asma has been consistant.. aap bhi ghaor kijiyay ga.. i said BAD performances
when it comes to SUFI singing in new commers.. i would always compare them with recent heart throb Ali Abbas.. lets see who matches up with him..

You nailed it buddy! That’s the whole thing…”lack of understanding”.
That’s why I mentioned in the begining that Sayon is a far better singer than this lot as he knows how to sing in lower notes and control it. But he is out!

I liked Soumen’s performance. It was better than many. Pratibha sang good but that power was missing in her voice!
And , maybe I am wrong, but I felt that Yashita lost the beat(taal) a couple of times near the end
I wonder what is Asma doing in this show. She shouldn’t have been even in top 25 list. And i also wonder who the hell is voting for her. Definitely dirty politics has creeped into this show.
HR is famous for manipulations..so lets not go into that.. even though we like it or not , the show is not only to get good singers ,but it works on getting TRp via its melodrama…Our job is to communicate what we feel clearly here regarding singers and nothing else.. Pls remember , more we talk about them and their melodrama (good or bad) more will they be encouraged… Anyways ..YAshita, Debo,Zaheer are the best acc to me .. followed by soumen,pratibha and vaishali..

This is one great show. Congratulations Zee TV for such a high-TRP show. Some folks on this blog complain that Zee TV is focused on TRP. It’s like saying why are the Tatas focused on Nano! That is the business they are in – get it? The higher the TRP, the more money Zee TV makes.
Nasal singing is the wave of the future and the Rock Kanya Asma is its foremost practitioner.
Did you notice that Zaheer was trying to sing like Asma? He is taking lessons from her which is good for Zaheer because the judges gave him good marks.
Asma has a big heart so she freely gives advice and pointers to the other contestants.
Did you not see.. how THE nose was begging Asma to give him a chance in her whachamacalit mega multistarrer !
Wow ! And the daan veerangna readily accomodated him ! Now, only a magnanimous, spirited, risk taker like our Asma can do something as daring as that !

The rest of Asma’s day is spent in helping poor children (she does not get paid for it like Shefali Sunderlal of CRY does), planting trees to save the environment, talking to world leaders about world peace, and other acts of befitting a princess.
She wants to learn Hindi and Urdu but, again in her sense of originality, she has decided to first learn Sanskrit and Farsi.

this week show was good, minus kaushik was in the bottom 3… pakistan ki bhatie and aasma was in among the others , how come??? is money being paid to zeetv to keep them in or to the judges???…Zaheer and tarun was excellent this week and credit must be given to these two singers for their achievement and ability

I think the contestants have shown that IF the drama factor is taken out of this competition, they can give marvellous performances. Each and everyone gave their best shots.. yes!! Even Asma gave her best performance to-date..
I will like to request judges to be neutral from now on, no more “Tumhara pati idhar hai, tum nay us kay liyay gaya hai is liyay history” or such crazy statements.. Vishali was not upto the standards of other singers who got history so she should have been given superhit or something..
Zaheer, Pratibha, Kaushik and tarun were excellent.. Debojit, Shoumen and Sara were very good.. but there are two performances which I would like to talk about specifically..
“Sufi ang” demands singer’s inner self.. aik “pukaar” hai jiss ko nibhana hai.. improvisation is THE key to it.. lagay bandhay aur copy cat singers don’t work.. cuz only the original singer and that also “on that certain time” can give the performance which was recorded.. copying it can be good but u have to let yourself GO if you want to put the feel in it.. you have to improvise YOUR feelings into it..
The two performances I want to talk about are Yashita and Shujaat.. I don’t know why but to me those were the only two jinhon nay mujhay jhoomnay par majboor kar dia.. I don’t want to go in technicalities.. but MAN they were just OUTSTANDING..
I don’t know what went wrong with judges when shujaat was singing.. I can understand about Pritam and Himesh but what happened to Aadesh and Shankar??.. I just can’t understand..

I think selection of the songs (chaloo?), Melodrama, Saas-bahu kay jhagray and all the other “crap” was playing a BIG role in “us” under-rating these singers..
Well for me.. NOW, I am looking forward to next performances by these two..
I fully agree with you about shujat and yashita. They ventured out of the comfort zone. zaheer didnt take chances but was very much into the sufi spirit. i also totally agree with you abt trying to listen to shujat with eyes shut. the effect is amazing. his movements can indeed distract listeners from the beauty of his renditions.
i find shujat very very promising.
i dont want to be a partypooper but, just for the heck of it.. sometime, listen to other singers also with eyes closed.. you’ll know the difference.. only a couple will come out as winners..
98% of the time males become the topper in these shows. This time we have many powerful singers in this group- Yashita, Pratibha and Vaishali.Asma and Sarah are also welcome!

When himesh got Vaishali (who is avarage in comparason to Debojit Zaheer, Yashita, Pratibha & Mitika)suddenly Himesh started to shout “woman will be the winner”.. I am afraid if this maniipulating dude has already started to play his dirty cards to have her winning the show!!!!

I used to watch the videos on this website before but have dish now but still regularly check this website and read your comments…
I dont know but i got confused by some of the previous episodes.. like for example if you take last week’s (ie friday’s & saturday’s) episodes. Do the participants know what they are going to sing in the coming episodes? I think they have to know cos they have to practice the songs. Like in today’s episode, they all knew they were going to sing Sufi songs. Last friday, the top 3 & the bottom 3 sang the songs in IPL episode & the between the line contestants sang HR’s Karzzz songs. That means that both the days there were different themes.. the episodes were different but they all were wearing the same clothes so i believe that they shot both the episodes on the same day. If half of the contestants were going to sing Karzzz songs, didnt they know that they were going to be in between the lines???
Also, I have a doubt now how the voting works.. one day all Indian contestants are in bottom three and the next time its the turn of the Pakistani contestants. I think they want Asma to be in top 10 cos the top 10 contestants go for world tour and they want to cash on her popularity (I strictly believe that its her charm and not singing). Obviously its Kaushik’s turn today cos SM’s gharana has the maximum nos of contestants. Soumen Nandi wont be eliminated until the few last episodes cos AS will be out too if he’s out now. I think next week it will be Shujat and not Asma (I hope I am wrong).
I still miss last year’s season. Be it Amanat, Raja, Aneek, Poonam, Sumedha, Junaid or Harpreet or even Mauli. I dont consider Mussarat as participant.. his singing was just out of the world and his level was way up than any other contestant’s. I think all of them performed extra ordinarily and still mesmerize me whenever i see their videos on youtube. I think this year my personal favourits are Zaheer, Vaishali, Tarun & Yashita. If totally the singing is considered and there has to be a winner from this year, it has to be Zaheer. His singing is perfect – technically correct, he is always attached to the song, has the most perfect diction of all.
Let’s see what happens in coming episodes…& lets see who wins!!

I just cant believe that Asma has not been even in bottom 3 for 2-3 weeks and wonder if the JANATA is really voting for her!! I just think something is not right just becos one week 3 contestants are in bottom 3 and in next episode, totally different 3 contestants are in bottom 3!!
BTW, in today’s episode Kaushik is eliminated and HR tells him that he should compose 100 tunes and then come to him, he would set a meeting with him and producers, i was thinking, he should never go to HR with his tunes, I am sure he will steal half of his tunes

In Arabic “history” is translated to either “tareekh”, “hikayah” or “sajjal”.. it has more then one translations because Arabic is more comprehensive language as compared to english..

I am watching this programm since couple of years. I was amazed coz of some decisions, which were made last couple of days. Naina was a good singer, but unfortunately she is not there. Coz she don’t have the skill to creat some drama. But in this episode i think the decision is the best, coz Zaheer is unmatchable. The way he sings, his personality, his approach. I think he has all the characters that an ideal play back singer should have. From beginning untill now he song different modes of songs. I hope that all the people, either from my India or rest of the world should vote for him, because he deserves to be the winner.

Everyone was pretty good today. Zaheer and Yashita were the toppers IMHO.
Zaheer..ne pachhad diya competition ko. Sure. His voice is awesome.
Pratibha’s Ali more angna daras dikha… great song, great performance. Her part in the song was less but jo bhi apne hisse mein tha.. she nibhaaoed well.
If I may say so.. degree of difficulty ke hisaab se I felt Shujjat’s song was tough. Usske liye he should get extra points. I agree he missed the soul. Almost always does
Vaishali.. nice. Her voice is sounding way better than it did in her first and second performances.
One majjjjjor complaint – she went “dadak dadak” instead of “dhadak dhadak” .. and since this word carries the song to a large extent, this mis-uchharan diluted the “feel” of the song for me.
Debu.. was good. Sur bahot ird gird ho rahe the. Looks like he is working on the lisp. It is not so apparent in his recent performances. No history wistory today. Maybe a super hit.
Tarun has a very sufish voice. Brave attempt at NFAK’s Alla hoo. Tarun was almost there. Bahot feel se gaaya.
Yashita was mindblowing today. Again. She is such a consistent singer.
Why did she get into the bottom three? What went wrong with her last week’s tandoori nights?? I’ll tell you.. her darn costume.. She looked horrendous last week. Sorry.
Anyways, if public is really voting.. and Zee is really countng.. then she should be ok next week.
Sara .. Come on ppl !! She is not that bad ! Her voice is a bit over-playful.. but she is not that bad as I keep hearing in this forum. Ya..I would advice her to not smile through out the song. Her voice is very old fashioned. I think she will be good in an old Noorjehan number like “mujhse pehli si mohabbat mere mehboob na maang..”

Overall it was a very entertaining episode.. partially coz of the “round” of the day.. Sufi..soul.
For argument’s sake.. wonder why we always go wah wah over songs that go high notes.. how about a lo notes round. It will be interesting to see low notes ke sur kaun ustaad theek se laga sakta hai.

I haven’t seen the show till now.. after last week’s performances i felt a little disappointed.. still trying to build up “courage” to watch another “slaughter of music” in the name of a “voting based talent hunt”..
Now, after your review.. it seems that it is an episode worth giving a shot.. i’ll watch once i finish my job today..
Your question is good though.. i too wonder why lower scales and control over song in them is not “that much” appreciated these days?.. Maybe its due to “general” lack of understanding about how difficult they are to control..
As far as shujaat is concerned.. i think that person is under-appraised.. Only mistake he makes is moving his body during the song.. I think if you re-hear same song with your eyes closed (or without watching the “performance”), you will feel the soul completely present in his singing..

Anu’s review makes it easier for me to make a go-no-go decision on the show. The sufi round seemed interesting.
IMHO Yashita and Asma are the most consistent singers this season.

Zaheer has jumped ahead. If I were him, I would make the most of it. Give some thundering perfomances and solidify the lead.

You nailed it buddy! That’s the whole thing…”lack of understanding”.
That’s why I mentioned in the begining that Sayon is a far better singer than this lot as he knows how to sing in lower notes and control it. But he is out!

I liked Soumen’s performance. It was better than many. Pratibha sang good but that power was missing in her voice!
And , maybe I am wrong, but I felt that Yashita lost the beat(taal) a couple of times near the end

HR is famous for manipulations..so lets not go into that.. even though we like it or not , the show is not only to get good singers ,but it works on getting TRp via its melodrama…Our job is to communicate what we feel clearly here regarding singers and nothing else.. Pls remember , more we talk about them and their melodrama (good or bad) more will they be encouraged… Anyways ..YAshita, Debo,Zaheer are the best acc to me .. followed by soumen,pratibha and vaishali..

Millions of Asma fans shed a tear on her deeply personal loss when her father and mother separated over whether a muslim woman should perform on a public stage in a secular country like India. It was heart-breaking but at the same time it is a liberating thought that women cannot be suppressed anymore by outdated ideas of the mullahs that they are men’s property and belong in the kitchen. Needless to say, Asma’s performance was way ahead of others. Zaheer made a valiant attempt. Soumen and Debo did well. Yashita was a pleasant surprise.
This is one great show. Congratulations Zee TV for such a high-TRP show. Some folks on this blog complain that Zee TV is focused on TRP. It’s like saying why are the Tatas focused on Nano! That is the business they are in – get it? The higher the TRP, the more money Zee TV makes.
Nasal singing is the wave of the future and the Rock Kanya Asma is its foremost practitioner.
Did you notice that Zaheer was trying to sing like Asma? He is taking lessons from her which is good for Zaheer because the judges gave him good marks.
Asma has a big heart so she freely gives advice and pointers to the other contestants.
Did you not see.. how THE nose was begging Asma to give him a chance in her whachamacalit mega multistarrer !
Wow ! And the daan veerangna readily accomodated him ! Now, only a magnanimous, spirited, risk taker like our Asma can do something as daring as that !

I think the contestants have shown that IF the drama factor is taken out of this competition, they can give marvellous performances. Each and everyone gave their best shots.. yes!! Even Asma gave her best performance to-date..
I will like to request judges to be neutral from now on, no more “Tumhara pati idhar hai, tum nay us kay liyay gaya hai is liyay history” or such crazy statements.. Vishali was not upto the standards of other singers who got history so she should have been given superhit or something..
Zaheer, Pratibha, Kaushik and tarun were excellent.. Debojit, Shoumen and Sara were very good.. but there are two performances which I would like to talk about specifically..
“Sufi ang” demands singer’s inner self.. aik “pukaar” hai jiss ko nibhana hai.. improvisation is THE key to it.. lagay bandhay aur copy cat singers don’t work.. cuz only the original singer and that also “on that certain time” can give the performance which was recorded.. copying it can be good but u have to let yourself GO if you want to put the feel in it.. you have to improvise YOUR feelings into it..
The two performances I want to talk about are Yashita and Shujaat.. I don’t know why but to me those were the only two jinhon nay mujhay jhoomnay par majboor kar dia.. I don’t want to go in technicalities.. but MAN they were just OUTSTANDING..
I don’t know what went wrong with judges when shujaat was singing.. I can understand about Pritam and Himesh but what happened to Aadesh and Shankar??.. I just can’t understand..

I think selection of the songs (chaloo?), Melodrama, Saas-bahu kay jhagray and all the other “crap” was playing a BIG role in “us” under-rating these singers..
Well for me.. NOW, I am looking forward to next performances by these two..

I fully agree with you about shujat and yashita. They ventured out of the comfort zone. zaheer didnt take chances but was very much into the sufi spirit. i also totally agree with you abt trying to listen to shujat with eyes shut. the effect is amazing. his movements can indeed distract listeners from the beauty of his renditions.
i find shujat very very promising.
i dont want to be a partypooper but, just for the heck of it.. sometime, listen to other singers also with eyes closed.. you’ll know the difference.. only a couple will come out as winners..
