I got some time to kill and killing-time ke time mein, I researched a little bit.. I have heard ppl at my workplace use ‘the term’ under discussion very freely and very often and they use it without worrying that they are belittling or insulting anyone.. So the posts here kinda prompted me to go figure what its all about.. I did a bit of research to understand (for myself) .. Nope.. I didn’t have english as a medium of instruciton in my school I didn’t pick up much english such as these terms. I do read a lot and I am an everyday student..student forever.. etc etc.
So here goes.. (google and yahoo answers)

The usual topic leading to friction on sets between the contestants from both countries has been about who will win the title of Hero Honda SaReGaMaPa.
A major show-down that took place on the set last week led Himesh Reshammiya, one of the mentors on the show to comment, “Why can’t these youngsters just concentrate on music? I am a Hindu but I am inspired by Sufi music.”
Our source witnessed a heated argument between Yashita from Mumbai and Zaheer from Pakistan where Zaheer openly challenged her by saying that “Iss baar Sangeet ki iss shaan ko Pakistaan mein lehrakar itihaas badlenge hum” This was not taken well by the otherwise fun loving Yashita who retaliated by saying “Hero Honda SaReGaMaPa ka parcham yahi par raha hain aur yahi rahega …”
The same tension was also seen amongst other contestants from Pakistan as they felt that they were not getting ample votes. Reacting to this, mentor Shankar Mahadevan, said, “That is not the case. My own friends vote for their favorite Pakistani contestant so where is the issue?”
However, our correspondent was pleasantly surprised when they saw Eid being celebrated on the sets of Hero Honda SaReGaMaPa and that too without Non Veg food. The reason was the Hindu Navratri festival. The participants were also seen catching the Eid ka Chand and then proceeding to go for Dandiya Raas together.
Participants from India and Pakistan are currently fighting this fierce musical battle which will eventually unveil the best talent. All eyes are currently set on Zee TV every Fri and Sat at 10 pm to know the results.

Yes who cares who the sponsor is … Good thing is now the actual show time has decreased and sponsors ad time has increased. So viewing the show on DVR saves a lot of time.
As it is we are trying to see if any brilliant performances will come through. Like @senty had said the introduction round was the best till date followed by the first hip hop round.

Many people here criticize that Zee TV is after TRP ratings. What is wrong with that? That is the business they are in – is that a secret?
The show is interesting because there are some good singers from Pakistand in it giving everyone a run for their money. However, indications are that the singer from Oman will walk away with the crown while the Indian singers will make the most money by becoming play-back singers. Everyone wins when the TRP is high.
This is a great show with great prop – Pritam Puran, India-Pak rivalry dominated by Oman, Hindu war cries like “har har Mahadev”, and the obvious Indian tradition of welcoming talented people no matter where they are from.
