Saregamapa Challenge 2009 – Videos of 12th Septemeber episode
Today is very special episode of Saregamapa challenge 2009. Today is Bhramhastra special round where we will get chance to listen to the contestants who got eliminated in previous rounds. Today Saregamapa set has changed into courtroom and every contestant will stand in ‘katghara’. Aditya is dressed up as lawyer and Mentors will give witness while audiences are judges. Aditya says that audience has taken the decision and Bramhastra goes to Rock Gharana. So Himesh has got Bramhastra [as usual]. They have chosen 9 contestants for the Bramhastra round and they gonna perform today and tomorrow and then they will chose their final contestants [ not sure about how many]. Also I have found that there is ‘Brahmastra Wild Card Voting‘ on Saregamapa site. Its free so vote for your favourite contestant.[Not sure how they are going to count these votes..] So enjoy these videos of 12th september episode of Saregamapa Challenge 2009

I know this nigaa won’t pick sahshi even though he is been saying shashi is a winning contestant he likes the other fruity people who talk more and sing less. Shashi is the best and he should be picked.

They are from Eklavya.I also did not see their performances..I do know why they were called..Raag Ragshree would have been given chance..instead..I am not why they brought aasma leaving Raag Ragshree…

I hope Sashi and Tarun should win the Bramhastra. I dont understand why Himesh is very much interested to get back Sunvinder Singh ….. he’s just a singer he’s not like Suman who is learning classical music from his young age. One should have to keep in mind all these. Shashi deserves the Bramhastra. Even Tarun is also a very good singer.
Sashi again repeating his mistake. he is not utilizing the oppurtunity by choosing right songs.I think in this phase he should select some popular song and rocked the performance.
Inspite of ability, if he can not choose right things no one can help. Hope he gets it tomorrow the right one..

well.. 12 September 2009 ko Zee TV ki pehli film “saregamapa court drama” release hoi.. jis main hero ka kirdar Aditya aur heroin ka kirdar Asma Mohammad Rafi nay kiya..
Baytahasha paisa barbad kar kay aik flop film banana sirf zee tv ka hi kaam hai.. is film main na koi kahani thi, na ikhlakiyaat.. suspense sirf music say dia gia tha aur comedy ki bharpoor magar nakaam koshish asma say ki gai thi..
film main kaheen kaheen ganay bhi thay jo k hamaisha ki tarah hum nay “forward” kar kay daikhay
film ki story likhnay wala urdu say na-balad tha is liyay tamam larkiyon kay liyay “wald” ka lafz istamaal hota raha jo k “son” ya “baita” kay liyay istamaal hota hai.. baiti kay liyay hamaisha “dukhtar” ya “bint” ka lafz istamaal hota hai.. someone should give Zee TV lessons in urdu..
anyways, lets talk about the SINGING..
First up was Chaloo sardar (with some other nicks) Sunvinder.. he selected a chaloo song and chaloo chaloo hi gaya.. there was more movement in his body as compared to his voice..
Then came Parachi.. Asthai was under-standard.. picked up the song from antra but she sang in “closed voice” through out the song.. zabardasti gaa rahi thi kya?.
Fareed was up next.. I never had any hope from this “fighter” from begining.. he seems to fight with himself more then the “zamana”.. forgot couple of times.. was singing in “phansi phansi” awaz.. and the pultay were “ultay paltay”..
Tarun.. Uthaan was very good.. but “behlaway” main reh gya.. vibrations bhi nahi theen.. and what did i heard?.. they are trying to find a one genre singer??.. i remember asha ji saying that they require another rafi or asha who can sing any type of song.. am i smelling something?..
Manisha.. Wow!.. i think this was the ONE and ONLY performance for me in the whole show which was worthy of being in Bhramastre or whatever.. beautiful control.. perfect “lay”.. and precise on “sum”..
Shashi.. damn man.. r u for real?.. “Badshah” for bhramastra???.. u must be kidding me right?.. or was it the script?.. for God sake.. you are a “trained” singer.. i for once agree with aadesh about selection of song.. but whatever ur thinking was.. good singing (in whatever the scope of song was)..
Sheuli.. seems short of breath cuz she was eating the ending word.. and yeah.. there are somethings called murkiyan and paltay in singing.. ever heard of them???.. amazingly all judges said good singing to her.. ???..
Divya Kumar.. deserved to be in Eklaviya gharana.. should stay in there.. cuz if this is what he brings for “Wishwa Yudh”.. he’s gona get slaughtered.. even in a “chaloo gana” he was just okay.. aur awaz bhi larz rahi thi.. nerves??.. may or may not be.. and again “gurus” said he sang beautifully..
Asma?.. I dreadfully state that i think Mauli was 1000 times better then her.. Atleast she was good in “Item Numbers”.. Asma was flat throughout the song.. and was mostly sounding like shouting or threatening.. Oman ki shan should stay in Oman and RIP.. and let us enjoy SINGING..
Okay.. if i really had to choose from these contestants then i would go with Manisha and Shashi.. but keeping in mind the standard of contestants we already have right now.. i dont think they are gona last.. maybe they’ll be eliminated in next two episodes (if judged on singing)..
but hay.. who am i to say anything.. janta votes for all the rubbish reasons.. maybe asma will win the contest due to her “innocence” and “gulabi urdu/hindi”.. who knows?.. and besides.. Oman WILL vote for her right???..

i agree with your reviews as far as the performances are concerned,but i disagree the way you made mockery of all those singers.well they are given a second chance to impress ,wheather they fail to utalize is upto them.and now nobody,including asma can say that they werent given a fair chance.
janta has to decide whom they want back,afterall janta decides.remember when janta choose auniq ahead of amanat,and raja.so now its nothing to do with sur,taal,perfection but personal liking and disliking.
in my opinion,zee saregamapa is declining in popularity and standards,so why to feel shocked at the court setting.when we can see a dhool and breaking news setup,tarrot card setup.
As far as voting is concerned.. i agree with you in totality.. my last para expresses my concerns..
and NO.. i was not mocking the singers.. i was judging them on the basis of their performance.. they were given SECOND chance to IMPRESS us.. i feel they moked us with under-prepared and second rated performance.. well, except Manisha and Shashi..

I think this is totally a farce.
How come Aasma instead of Raag Ragshree(UK). she sang so well in her last performance. I do not know why they brought eklavya’s..and some others…Really I do not know the basis….
Each passing episode, Zee outdoes itself in the cheesiness factor.
I had higher hopes from Shashi and agree with others that his song selection was poor. I wonder why none of the contestants sing songs by Rafi? Other than a few Asha songs and an occasional Kishore, I have not heard many songs for old times.
shashi was disappointing.i hope he will prevail his chances otherwise it would be unlucky to loose such a talented singer because of himself,because people supported him all the way
I felt the same way which I have expressed earlier.I do not know the reason of bringing Aasma instead of Rag Raagshree(who gave very good performance) and much better than
Aasma..Looks like Zee wants to expand market share in middle eastern countries..The way all the pakistan singers are retained etc.

Sunvinder ka voice texture acha hai … but today he was struggling with high notes … in the part ‘mein hoon don ..’ he couldnt sign in a ‘khuli awaz’ …
Prachi ko gujrat ki janta ki wapis la sakti hai .. not her singing …
Fareed STILL was chewing the words … in the effort of not chewing, he forgot the song, what, 3 time???!!! not my fav candidate …
I have a feeling that they will try to include Tarun … all the talk about ‘genre singer’ and voice texture … if voice texture is so important then call back Muhammad Arshad .. his voice texture is REALLY unique, not mention him being in near perfect sur …
Manisha … YOU ROCK GIRL … really deserve to be back in the competition …
Shashi … a potential comeback candidate .. though I agree with AgentX regarding the song selection … come on shashi … you can do better than that … just trust your gut feel and select the song that YOU like … people will love it …

Asma … she would have been my top candidate if this was an entertainment competition … unfortunately it is not … it is a SINGING competition (I think?!!)… although her Sara ‘mama’ item was superb ..
Only candidate I disagree with AgentX is Divya Kumar … he has got ‘bharao’ in his voice .. natural texture or developed after extended ‘kharaj riaz’? I dont know … but I sincerely believe this guy has got some serious potential … his eklavya performance the very first time was ’sohni lagdi’ by Sajjad Ali … which was really not that bad … This confirms my suspicion of choosing sifarishi singers in the first iteration of the program …
Im not gonna concern myself with who is going to be in … as it now an SMS battle which is the most ridiculous way of judging a person’s singing talent …

I had the same feeling about Divya Kumar when he started “bachna ai..” that he is a going to be a good singer.. but when he said “haseeno”.. i was like “what?”.. then i thought he made a mistake.. but again next time around he made the same mistake.. just listen to the way he says “haseeno”.. “larzish” bohat ziyada hai.. and this “larzish” stays throughout the song everywhere.. he did not had control on vibrato in his voice.. that was.. for me.. his downgrading factor..
Now lets say he is selected and had to sing a “Vilambit” song.. its gona be a problem for him..

disappointed at performances except manisha.i feel pathatic for the janta who are to vote.how many chances these people want??we were complaining all the season for too much eliminations,so thesepeople were to prove our point.right?definately the ones people would like will be back,but they should have performed their hearts out.
to me the biggest performer is aditya,who has taken up the task of increasing the trp with his performances seeing none of the contestants are willing to.
to me 2009 is not going to reach even the shadow of 2007.hope next time the setup might be on some beach or in some night club.utterly disappointed.

I don’t know why Aneek’s name is mentioned again and again in this contest!
Asha Bhonsle, Vishal-Shekhar, Suresh Warekar, Sonu Nigam… to name a few all said publicly that Aneek deserved to win!
So why this discussion? Just because Amanat and/or Raja didn’t?
So am I to understand that the notable singers/composers I mentioned do not know anything about music ? Nor does the public?

dear i agree with you in that all those notable singers said that for aneek,but in my opinion they would have said the same if raja or amanat would have won.and you know it would have beenafterall,how many judges had ecer said that the winner didnt deserve to win??and yes amanat,raja and even pooja were better then hamesh special aneek.and all of them including aneek are far far better then the best ones this time around.aneek name keep on surfacing again and again,because people doubt his win.do you think if raja or amanat or pooja would have won,then sonu nigham would have doubt their win???to most of the people,auniq win was a bad ending to a great 2007.but seeing 2009,i wish could recall all 2007 contestants to perform this time around too.

hey all…it was agreat epsidoe. i think anyone from manisha, shahsi and tarun should return. No way does anyone else deserve…please junta vote correctly and bring back the deserved…I would go for traun and manisha based on YESTERDAY’S performance but overall shahsi is betetr than tarun
If sunvinder and aasma return, my faith in this show is over. Shashi, tarun, mansiha are all more deserving. i don’t have bsnl/mtnl kandline thos who have vote your hearts out esp. for amanisha…she is so talanted…

I heard gajendra sing (who used to be producer of the show saregama) conducting Star Voice of India..
This year singer’s standard is very Low compared to last year.No one is closer to last year’s top 5 feel..(amanat,Raja hasan,Aneek,Poonam, etc..). I just came to know about this.My friend mentioned this..
Very sad to see the standards like this..It is getting deteriorated..every week..rules are chaging..Go on….

Today’s episode is a slap on the face of music lover’s and also dedicated follower’s of the show.
The creativity of the show should be in it’s choice of music and getting the best out of its
contestants.Presently creativity is being applied in the wrong places. Even the Kid’s SaReGaMaPa was better.
I could watch a episode of Sesame-Street then this farce.I had to literally forward to just listen to the songs I didn’t even wait for the comments.
But on the analysis agree with AgentX, Manisha was the best. I give credit to any female contestant who can sing a old Asha or Lata number and make it bearable. Manisha did full justice to the song.
The judges say that the choice of song is with the contestant, but I feel it’s the show which is telling them which song to sing. If its really the contestant’s choice then I imagine what kind of music they have been listening to. If this is what they call “Competition” type songs, then they need some serious lesson’s in the history of Indian music.
No Wonder, first Shaan, then Gajendra, then IsmailDarbar all moved to VOI and StarPlus and any wonder that show is quality wise better then this farce.
Even the quality of singers in SaReGaMaPa lil champs were better then the present lot. The Song selection of Tanmay will put many of the present male’s to shame.
I am relieved that having stopped Zee subscription,i only watch the bearable parts of this show on Web. I would have
cursed myself, if I was paying Zee for this stupidity.
And the Judges on the show wonder, why the winner’s and contestant’s of the show can’t make it big in the playback industry. Seriously have we seen any contestant, who is better than Sonu Nigam, KK & Shaan, or Chitra,Sunidhi,Kavita,Sadhna,Alka,Shreya.
