Saregamapa Challenge - Review of 2nd August Episode
Saregamapa Challenge 2009 is now in second round and contestants will compete for 2nd Chakravyuh round. Today is elimination day. The show begins with the contestants singing Yeh Dosti song from Sholay. The contestants are sitting on cycles with some hearts in hand. The whole stage is decorated with balloons, a blackboard and some chairs. Even the AV of the song is shown in the middle. The song loose control is played and Aditya enters the set with a stick. He acts as a prof, pulls the ears of contestants and drags them to the bench. But later on, they all sing Masti ki pathshala together.Aditya welcomes all the viewers and wishes “Happy Friendship Day” for the viewers from Saregamapa..
Aditya tells a her on friendship which his friend has told him to tell here… The sher says..
ki tu hain mera yaar
tere dam se chalti hain meri life ka car
par yaari nibhate waqt hamesha rehta hain saath…
The contestants all say wah wah.. He says, he has something more to say and continues to say one more sher.. Again the contestants say Wah Wah.. Aditya asks them to stop all this and go and get seated… Survinder asks Aditya, Wah Wah ki payment kab milegi?? Aditya says, “first you pay the payment for saying Wah Wah after your performance… LOL
Aditya calls the mentors as teachers today…
Aadesh says, Dhoom Machade.. Everyone is shocked.. He says today is friendship’s day and so each of the gharana mentors will say the other’s nara.. His gharana contestants say - Duniya hilade..
Himesh says, Har Har Mahadev
Shankar says, Jai Matadi, Lets Rock..
Pritam says, “Jai Ho”..
Aditya now invites the principal of the masti ki pathshala and that is Kavita Krishnamoorthy..
Kavita - Happy Friendship Day to all.. I get remembered of my autograph book where we used to write the best ship in this world is friendship..
Aditya asks Shankar how he feels as both of his contestants got through yesterday.. Shankar says, I am going to chill out.. I am having fun in this environment.. Its going to be a rocking evening..
Jai Ho Gharana Performance
Faraz Butt brings a doll with him.. He says, this is his friend and Aadeshji has kept a name for this doll and is called - Hari Puttar.. Aditya asks if he is going to dedicate the song for Hari Puttar?? Faraz says, this doll is his friend and so he will do so.. He sings Rock the party.. Singer - Bombay Rockers..

No one can sing at the same level emotion/passion as Amanat Ali or Mussrat Abaas. For some reason I feel there’s something lacking in SRGMPA 2008…
Amanat sings from his soul (roh)…what a Beautiful soul that boy has. Can’t stop listening Tujshe Naraz Nahe Zindagi, Mitwa, Albela Sajan, Sawan Beettoo …

I used to watch this show with my mother once in a while when I was younger. This summer I’m watching it from the beginning and I think I have cried almost two times already. I have seen American Idol and in no way does it compare to the intensity of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Personally, I don’t think that modern day American artists can come close to matching the beauty of Indian geet sangeet, even though I am an American born and raised teenager. The contestants that come on that stage sing their heart out, and they don’t only go up there with hope to change thier own lives but the lives of their families. I salute every single contestant that has gone on the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa stage for their courage and beauty. It reflects the beauty of our country as well as our people.
Something is lacking for me in this new season of saregamapa…
No one is near the great AMANAT ALI we saw last year or even the UStad NUsrat Fateh touch that Mussarat had.
Plus,missing thos 2 greats judges >> vishal and shekhar
Just to say… not following this years saregamapa like i did last year because for me for the moment no one is dam close to AManat who was the best of the lot.

I guess the bar was raised too high last year, thats why we are having too many expectations. Anik, Amanat, Raja Hasan they where all superb and are already singing in movies. There will always be someone who stands out, and last year it was amanat, cant forget that tujse naaraz performance. This year there is definetely enuf talent , but not as good as last year. But, the show rocks, keep watching.
Totally agree with Imran. Really missing a singer who can touch the heart like Amanat, Mussarat, Aneek, Raja. All of them were brilliant. But still this show is better than other reality shows and time and again we would be witnising good performances. And also we should not expect that every saregamapa show is going to produce the singer like Amanat Ali as Ismail Darbard says about Amanat “When i heard Amanat i got the feelings that this type of siger is born in centuries” aisa singer sadiyoon main aik hee paida hoota hai. Hats off to you Amanat.

Absolutely. Thats the main reason I get so POed at the naatak baazi of the judges and the show organizers. These kids are nothing but pawns in a much larger game. The contestants leave their familiar lives, their education, job, family, and what not, to participate in this show. I especially feel sorry for real talent that gets kicked out at a stage that leaves them in a limbo. Neither the required exposure that takes them forward in a music career, nor the security of their previous life.. school, job, etc.
I join you in saluting these kids.. they are indeed very talented and very very courageous.

we really miss his voice today saregamapa show and no one have a great voice like Amanat Ali he touch the soul.
