The punjabis from Pakistan speak punjabi 24-7 and yet they sing hindi songs exceptionally well (So far I doubt any of them have any pronounciation problems in Hindi).

The Indians on the other hand, speak Hindi all the time (bare in mind Hindi is the national language in India)and yet SOME of the contestant can’t even do justice to a hindi song. It should be a flawless performance.

There’s nothing wrong with Debojit’s languange, he just needs to consult a speech therapist. It’s not a languange problem. I agree with Jamshid’s explanation.

If that’s the case tell me the names of the singers (the punjabis) on other non-punjabi singers on the SRGMPA show that have problems with Hindi pronounciation

First most of you were saying that the contestants shouldn’t be allowed to sing Punjabi songs….now u say that they ‘a lot of professional singers have problems with hindi prounciations’…maybe they shouldn’t sing Hindi songs in the first place.

I guess you both are right. I agree with Harjeet that Debojit does have a bit of pronounciation problem.

I also agree with Rajdeep that many non-hindi speaking singers have this problem in the beginning of their career but they recitfy it over a period of time. I think Debojit’s problem can also be improved through training.

That may not be the criteria for his elimination in the initial rounds. However towards the final rounds(provided he survives) I am sure every aspect will be considered. If he doesn’t improve by then, then there could problems.
