Today is the last episode of First Round and also the last day for Asha Tai as Mahaguru. Today two contestants will get eliminate. Single episode with no excessive drama. Guys i don’t think we will have such episode again. All decisions were perfect.I didn’t like, Pritam saying since Rashi is from my gharana, i will vote for her. I suppose this show is about best singer rather than best gharana.

Rashi deserve to be in the final.He sang extremely well
and perhaps the best performance so far.He has great singing qualities.His expression was superb.Srut, taal and everything of a good singer.
Rashi was right that the name of the show belongs to India and international challengers are continuously eleminating. she is right and u will see that the winner will still be indian and it can not anyhow be any international. the two in Eklavya gharana will soon be eleminated and then it will be turn of Pakistanis to get eleminated .Top 10 will 9 indians and one international.this is cheating.

Dear , Once Again (Aslam O Alykum) Shashi has good Classical sound and sang well today , but especialy particular in this song ( naina Thag Lain Gaye ) i think , i am not a singer and a mentor but i think ABBASS JOSHI sang very very very much better. even from ( Ghustakhi - Mauhf ) From RAHAT - FATHE ALI Sb . in this compitision all the Participants are sang very well. especialy those who come Abrode. Because they don,t have the facility of USTAAD And i apriciat those who sang in Urdu/Hindi very well.especialy main dil se DUA gou hoon JAFFERY k liye K wo apne Maqsad main Kamyab ( AMIN ) . Jaffery and Asma Both are Good Talent .

I truly was rooting for Jeffrey. Not because he is American, but because I really enjoyed his voice. It’s a different texture than the others. It’s a shame that SRGMP calls itself an International show, but quickly eliminates the international contestants. Sure, not all of them were great, but some of them had great potential. Sigh…
hi every one again i would like to request every one here ,who ever watch sa re ga ma pa please don’t vote for those people who cant sing or just for look ,this munch is just for voice not for look,otherwise it will be injustice for those who really have nice voice,we should break the barriers and just vote for good voice forget about India or Pakistan just watch show and enjoy allot and again good luck for every one.

its 4 aditya.he should be an actor rather than a show host.coz he acts very well.i found him doing acting on most of da occasions, when the participnts get eliminated.he has nice looks but there is little problem with the hieght.but still he is young & will soon gain that & will entertain us with his debu drama “q k saas b kabhi baho thi part 2″
i believe dat rashi shudve stayed…but jeffery is one of my fav but again rashi shudve won…i believe her song was difficult then the other two…nd the way she sang n da way she ended da song was extraordinary…..i hope she becomes a playback singer in years to come….gud luck rashi n jeffery…i am my self a singer nd i wudnt mind singing songs for jefferys album lol

I agree with you to vote only for those who sing well not to them who look good. I think this is not the point to raise because every viewer has coherent taste of singing and they know that it’s singing competition not the beauty contest.

I feel that the existing SRGMPA format needs Restructuring.
First and foremost, if this is truly an international show, then why are all four judges Indians? At least have two Judges from other parts of the world i.e. Pakistan, UK, etc. to assess the participants.
Why is it that one male and one female contestant should be eliminated? It really doesn’t make any sense. For instance, if all three guys sang exceptionally well, but two of the female contestants were horrible. Will be reasonable to eliminate ONE guy and ONE girl. I don’t think so. This one to one ratio is Ridiculous.

I was in same the condition when I first read your name I was reading it as HAR-JEET (Loose-Win). If I am not wrong Harjeet is an Indian name and I felt it’s incomplete in a sense like “Harjeet Singh” or ………..? plz tell me its meaning also.
I don’t agree with your point in which you pointed out on the elimination of one girl and one boy. I think Asha Tai was there in the show just to evaluate the singing of Boys and Girls separately. After the completion of 1st round judges and viewers will take decision for the best singer ( male or female )
About your suggestion regarding the judges should be also from PK, UK, etc. I think current panel of judges is performing their duties honestly without any difference among all the contestants. If I would be the one judges I ll also analyze every one equally and support my own “gharana” at the most.

First I thank Anuradha from India Forums and Saregamapa authority to start display in this website review of Saturday episode also. I think Ashaji left the decision to select one from Sanjivani Bhooti holder because the mentors want to have the power to get a contestant back who has a great voice quality but eliminated due to only one bad performance on the stage. I suggest that this selection power should be left on the mentors. Yet Saregamapa authority has given the power - “Brahmastra” to the audience which can prevent from passing unjustified comments to the participants or making undue arguements on the stage by the mentors. But I hope we might be allowed to vote for Brahmastra via this website.
Saregamapa’s Challenge 2009 has been arranged based on the requirement of Indian film industry and not on any pure competition. In Indian film industry there is separate area of work for male and female singer. Male singer’s job cannot be done by female singer and vice versa. Saregamapa authorities job has been to give the public nearly equal no. of male and female outstanding singers ( 10 to 12) amongst those available with them. Hence during elimination by judges rounds participation and elimination of equal no. of male and female member each episode is justified.
Well,,I dont undstnd,,why Z TV choose to Pritam as a Judge? I found all of his music are copied from other. Any one cant give me his any original song. Bhool Bhulaia,,from Korean song. Channa ve from Pakistan. etc,,to more find,,,log in Youtube.

Celebrity singer Ishmeet Singh from Punjab, India who shot to fame by winning the Voice of India (on Star TV) contest in November last year, drowned in a swimming pool on Tuesday July 29, 2008 at a resort in the Maldives where he had gone to take part in a concert
To Innocent Ishmeet Singh on his Sudden death.
May his soul rest in peace and GOD grant his family courage to bear this loss. He will remain alive in our prayers and hearts.

Past Saregamapa Challenges witnessed dissatisfaction by mentors on the decision of judges (e.g. one judged by Khayam Saheb in Challenge 2005). In the last challenge, judges rounds were minimized very much and some participants were allowed to by pass these rounds which was also a point of dissatisfaction. To avoid these types of dissatisfactions, I suggest for a jury of two judges (instead of single judge) out of which atleast one should be a renowned music composer of Hindi films.

Correct me if I am wrong. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Sara Raza Khan, Shujat Ali Khan, etc. family name is “Khan”. So What about Amanat Ali’s surname, is he also a “Khan” or ….?

Amanat would not be khan so he doesn’t put khan after his name. In Pakistan there are three or four types of “Khans” the typical Khan family belongs to Peshawar or NWFP like Imran Khan, Shahrukh Khan basically they are Pashtoon and speak “Pashtu”. As far the Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Asad amanat Ali khan, Hamad Ali Khan (Singers) are concern they are from “Sham Chorasi Gharana” (Historical Mughlia Era).
If you are thinking that every Muslim singer or actor (from Pakistan) is from khan family, it’s not true. It is maximum I know about Khans if some confusion left tell me I ll consult with someone else to make it more clear.

I disagree with the suggestion that judges from other countries should be sitting on the panel. This is an Indian show and Indian judges should be respected in their roles as they are the ones who will provide work for the successful candidates. Its upto other countries to discover talent according to their own requirements.

I would like to add one more thing, another famous cast that use Khan at the end of their name is ‘RAJPPOT’ families. I my self is a Rajpoot and we use Khan too as last name. Hope this will work for all of you.
By the way, apart form Khan I know only one term whilst I am living in UK at the moment that was ‘Paki’ but on this show I have come to know about ‘Indis’ and recently another ‘Bangalis’ and in future there could be some more like ‘Kolkati’ cool hai na.
Any ways show is great and with out any prejudice I think the most talented singer should be the winner of this contest. Last year I believe people are not happy with the results including mee too and belive me a number of my friends from INDIA who are in UK were surprised and unhappy as they thought that Amanat shld be the winner. But any how this is life all about.

Having watched SaReGaMaPa 2008 US Auditions closely and having witnessed the kind of talent which got rejected, it is not surprising that the US contestants were voted off in the first round itself. I had very high regards for Suresh Wadkar, but now wonder what made him appreciate someone with Jeffreys singing capabilities. The comments on some of his songs compared to what the better participants received were so different, that I thought it was a different show.
During the auditions, good talent was not even a second chance, while Jeffrey himself claimed after winning that his voice broke 3 times during auditions, but was still selected.
About 2009 show. Shankar Mahadevan is a very refreshing change can’t say the same about Pritam. Coming back to Jeffrey, I almost fell off my chair when Pritam commented saying ” You have so many imperfections, but your imperfections are so perfect that the end result is great”. So what does that tell new wannabee’s that they need to be imperfect and not to care about SUR and Taal.
But saving grace was Asha Bhosle, who rejected him outright.
Let’s watch and see, what happens next.

The singers are a mix bag. Gotta wait for a few more rounds to see who nikharofies and who non-nikharofies. It is too early to catch a fav and stick with him/her.
