Chanda mama asking for chanda mami was ha ha ha hillarious.. my god.. I was like fell off the chair and rofl.. by the time the bhoot act came on, I was screaming for mercy. Haalp ! Haalp !
Performance wise I found all the four quite impressive today. Twas a pleasant hour and half.
Anamika sang a beautiful song beautifully. I loved her chaand wala performance. Great song choice in “gali mein aaj chaand nikla”. Excellent voice for this song.
Her haunting “naina barse” was cracking up in few places. And went off tune a wee bit too. I thot Anamika could have stolen the show with this song. But was kinda disappointed.
RohanP was great too in the chand wala round. But “chand taare” was an easy song. and .. I thought his voice was stretching .. almost breaking at some points. But it didint ..so. Whew ! His haunting song selection from “Neelkamal” was awesome too. Overall a neat performance.
Amir.. ok. his “chand chupa” was EMOF awesome. I thought he too deserved A+ for this song. I love the slight nasal tone in his voice. His second song “Kahin deep jale” was good but again.. same thing yaar.. song mein feel miss tha. Anamika almost always brings her songs alive with her soulful performances. Most times RohanP does.
Tanmay’s “chand mera dil” was just about ok compared to the other three this round. His “gumnam hai koi” was flat as well. I found his songs were lacking “feel” too. But will give him credit.. he rarely slips sur.

Song selections were good today except for Amir & Tanmay’s Lata ji songs selection.
Don’t know, who selected these two Lata Ji’s ( very famous) songs for these two ( boys) kids to sing. Did n’t make any sense. Obviously ,these songs will not sound that great in kids voice even Sonu Niggam & Suresh Wadkar will not sound great.Hope, this doesn’t effect public voting.All 4 singers are very talented. Judges need to encourage them & give good deserving grades.Too sad, judges at this stage of competition acting like this. It was very disappointing to see that judges did not say anything about songs selection but did criticize young talented kids singing.Oh well, hope my favorite comes in top 3.

Looks like Zee TV & judges have already decided to eliminate Amir or Tanmay next week in elimination round. Hope this does not happen.
Sonu Nigam should sing ” kahi deep jalay kahi dil , Suresh Wadkar should sing ” gumnam hai koyee,bedhnam hai koyee” & be compared with Lata Mangeshker.Good luck.

I don’t know how Sonu and Suresh liked Anamika’s song. Both the songs were not A+ worthy. Rohanpret’s first song was better. Both judges were too harsh on Aamir. Tanmay is the weakest link here.
Anamika is much hyped singer in this show. In fact, the whole season of Li’l champs 2008 is the worst. Except the judges, there is nothing to see. Yeah, even though they are making some strange decisions, still I watch this show just for them.
guys amir has the most wonderful god gifted voice. He is a natural and is the only one who is bound to go far beyond this competition. Pls pls vote for him.
For some strange reasons that I wouldn’t even want to analyze lest I get into religion etc (I am a Tamil Brahmin Hindu by the way) because I cannot think of any other due to which both the judges have a constipated expression on their faces when amir starts singing in his most amazing and effortless manner (and by the way he is by far the only common favourite of all the music directors and people who know music).
Hope justice is rendered once at least on this show and amir wins.

amir seems to be getting really harsh end of the judges, nothing is good enough for them, whereas the other kids get A+ for no reason at all..amir def has the best voice of the lot.tanmay seems to be the weakest singer but prolly rohan or aamir will be out this week
he better not get voted out. I hope the public will prove to be smart enough to understand the judges’ devious behaviour and teach them a lesson. If amir leaves I for one will finally boycot this show forever.
Really hope the public proves to be better judges than suresh wadkar and sonu nigam who have really disappointed me I must say because the other kids had so many flaws in their renditions and still got A+s!!!

I am writing from Fiji Islands.
Firstly this programme is very popular here, though we watch old episodes as we do not watch live but everyone makes sure that they watch every episode.
Like myself there are other concern people in Fiji who think that public judging is not the way to decide the winner of Lil Champs. We do respect that India is the country of music but there are many voters who vote JUST to make a person win and in doing so not the best person wins. I think there shall be a proper way to judge this young talents, regardless Sudesh Ji and Sonu ji comfort the losers to maximum but I am sure that their inside feeling stays.
We feel that both judges were and are the better people to judge.
At last Aditya you are great at hosting and Sonu Ji, you are one of the best India has produced.
We hope that this comment will be passed on to Aditya, Sonu and Sudesh ji.

ae zindagi gale lagaale was FANTASTIC i cld’nt see where sonu was coming from. when the kid improvises he is criticised, when he doesnt( ae maalik tere bande)he is criticised// am sure poor baccha doesnt know if he is coming or going!

Unconfirmed report says that Amir has been eliminated this week. Amir’s father was not very happy with that and says that it is a setup of Zee. Amir was upset for not getting in the top 3 and does not want to back.
I have to see what really happened. This report seems to be true to a great extent.
There is still a day left and the unconfirmed results would now force people to vote for Aamir, is that what media trying to do here?
Of course, Aamir is a great singer but the media should leave the politics out of here.

The voting closes on Monday morning at 8 or 10am. The program is recorded on Tuesday. Then how come you so you what you are saying?
well tanmay was the clearly the weakest singer last week, but the judges with their negative reaction to aamir swayed the votes

hope aamir survives puberty with his fantastic voice intact and we see him in the adult SRGMP in a few years.. ! good luck kiddo and be glad that you brought some joy to some jaded adults like me!

Hmm, I for one agree with the judges (OK, no flames). Aamir has great potential, actually all of the top 5 do. They are the best talent found amongst potentialy lakhs of kids, right?
With training and hard-work they can all achieve wonders. I was with Vasundhara, because she really sang with emotions way beyond her age. Even if she made a few mistakes here and there, you could forgive it because of the feelings she brought alive in her singing.
Notice that after her elimination, the judges kept commenting how others did not sing “with feeling”. Devoid of that joy from the one singer who did that (she got eliminated), they probably felt the lack of it in other kids much more so.
Particularly Aamir has GREAT voice, but sings emotional songs in a very upbeat manner. his “genre” is Sufi songs, and that genre of all, requires a person to feel every word, every phrase they sing.
Rohan is OK, sticks mostly to Punjabi style songs. Tanmay is OK, does not have a great voice like Aamir, but makes up for it by sticking to the “sur” like glue!
Anamika is near-professional. She deserves to be in the top 3.
So did Vasundhara…I am going to follow her career avidly.
Amir Hafeez is the unlucky contestant who gets eliminated this year!!!
SRGMP Lil Champs should be named Lil Champs Jokers & Mediocre Singing Show because thats where they are heading. Eliminating all the talented kids.

surprisingly i never found aamir off sur, plus with that powerhouse voice,,it was a great combnation
tanmay and rohan have KIDS voices, aamir has a man size voice, and esp tanmay was badly exposed last week.
i thought “chand chupa” was superbly done and same with kahin deep.. the remarks by sonu were totally out of line and def played a part in the kids elimination.
in a sense its sad that u can trust neither the janta nor the judges..

Hi Monsoon, am feeling totally miserable and ANGRY as hell about this gross injustice and zee and the so-called unfit to be called so “MENTORS” (Ha Ha).
I totally agree with you abt the only thing I will retain from this show as well, just amir songs. In any case the show was worth watching only for him and his god-gifted voice and effortless flawless singing.
And Deepa, let me say that I find you way off the mark abt feeling lacking in amir’s renditions. If that were so, so many thousands of people from all over the globe would not have been moved to such an extent by this ten year old’s voice and singing. In fact he is the only one who have brought tears to people’s eyes with his sanwre etc. And pls do not forget that he is only ten years old and he has to go through many bitter-sweet experiences in life to really feel the lyrics of sufi songs and also get elevated spiritually. As of now the mere fact that he is even able to do perfect justice with sufi renditions orginally sung by greats such as nusrat and kailash kher (and mind you his teri diwani was probably better than kailsh’s even!!!) is amazing in itself and I can bet my life that none of the other little champions can ever come even miles near him in that!!!! As well as classical music.
Pls do think abt it.
And as for voice quality and range and natural effortless singing, he once again stands apart.
Well for me little champs is finished now and hopefully zee forever because they really suck and as for sonu the worthless and suresh the spineless I hate their dishonesty and they suck real big time.

If this news is true ” Amir’s elimination” then Judges must be very happy because this is what they wanted. Specially Sonu Nigam criticized him so much in last episode.He was treating this 10 years old boy like an adult, scolding him for not paying attention to him.So sad, Sonu Niggam can’t differentiate between child & adult.
Looks like, public voting has no meaning. This show is run by Zee Tv ,judges & Amir is a victim now.Still hoping to see him in top 3.
Amir is a very good talented singer & he will rise.He can concentrate on his studies now & learn music.
Lets see ,if Suresh Wadkar accept him as his student just like he offered that to Sonu Nigam’s favorite.
It doesn’t matter who wins now.

Hi Padma,i totally agree with you about the judges unfairness to Amir! He is a talented young boy and has got a great voice,and I can predict he will have a great future, actually by listening to his songs he made me cry several times. If Amir is out am so much dissapointed,I could see it coming through the Judges! Saregama pa challenge is my favourite program though am not an Indian…. but I love and appreciate music, actually am from Tanzania(Zanzibar).. lets hope for the best to all the kids! Anamika is my fovourite as well, i hope and pray she will be number one.

Anamika Performs. Sureshji bends to Sonu.and whispers. Sur me gadbud hai. Sonu: Sureshji ise main handle kartha hoon. Final mein bad comments speaks ill of the program. Main Kuch karoonga.
Sonu : Yah Sharam ki bath hai ki hum log yah gaana ko nahin suna hai, Sureshji bhi nahin aur hamara guest be nahin suna. Lekin Anamika u r the best singer of the show. Is gaana aapkeliye thoda difficult hai, par achha insaf kiya, A* for you.

Well, amir fans have their reasons. And yes, he sings well. I guess I felt Vasundhara sang better, with more feeling and justice to the songs she selected. Also Anamika and Vasundhara displayed the most diversity in their song selection and justice to the diverse themes selected by Zee.
That being said, each to his own. I am still a Vasundhara fan.
Granted that Amir Hafez is a very talented singer,but the most disappointing aspect was not his elimination itself- but the distasteful reaction of his family. Apart from the fact that they created a scene and raked up an issue that was over 2 weeks old, and insulted the very platform that has brought Amir to the fore, their attempt at communalising the issue was disgusting to say the least.
Mark Amir’s family’s comments after the show:
” Such injustice is always done to our ‘watan’ (btw I thought all of us belonged to the same ‘watan’) and that Raja and Amanat should had won Sa re ga ma but Zee rigged it so that Aneek won (again btw I fail to see how Amanat, who is a Pakistani is the same ‘watan’as Amir while Aneek, who is an Indian, is not!)
Their comments aginst Tanmay were also distasteful.
It is sad that music, which has always been blind to Hindu-Muslim differences ( right from the days of classical music, upto modern times with film music too) is being dragged into such controversies. Shame on Amir’s family for their uncultured and communal behavior!
It was so shameful to see Amir’s family doing that. My feeling was Amir’s family were looking to get a prize money out of the show…nothing else. They don’t have mind to see how this show has helped him to get where he is today. With this upbringing how can Amir be a good person in life. His family was looking to fulfill their needs from his prize money….shameless idiots…it is understandable that they were upset but look at the way they left the stage and cursed judges, show and poor Tanmay for no reason……cheap people….
Well, i am a big fan of Vasundhara. While I don’t agree with the behaviour displayed by Amir’s family, we’ve got to give it to them that they really value the exposure and money they get from this show. Probably the money and fame meant a lot to them. I was moved to see what happened. Personally even i don’t think that either Rohan or Tanmay is any great shakes that both Sonu and Suresh should go ga ga over them.
Vasundhara’s number of brilliant performances far outnumber all the contestant’s performances put together.
