For the 3 finalists … dont know who the voters are …. must be a bunch of deaf & dumb folks. How is this even possible that the Tanmay & Rohan sing better than Anamika & get more votes.I am from Panjab myself, now live near San Fran …. but the reality – Anamika is the best. No doubt I will support Rohan the most …. but Anamika deserves to be recognized as the best of the bunch.
This is a contest of mucisal talents & not who is a better stand up comedian.
Please dont Indianize the voting process …. corruption & manipulation is the name of the game in India.
For once the kids need to be spared of typical dirty Indian politics & power play.
Anamika has pronounciation problems which come out glaringly very often especially with the Rs. R I mean. Also spirituality and that unnameable moving and elevating magical quality is lacking in her singing. maybe it has to do with her personality, superficial, confused, melodramatic and insincere and manipulative.
Rohanpreet also has massive pronounciation problems with hindi songs. He has a typical and strong punjabi accent and sounds like a girl and profoundness is missing even in his case. He also sings off ket at times.
Tanmay, the lesser said the better. His voice is really not pleasing at all and yesterday’s songs were a complete fiasco. Lacks everything that a good singer should have.
So in short the whole thing is a disaster and since it is so obviously stage managed it is a real shame and insult of the viewers who have kept zee tv riding high. It is just not fair to play with the public’s money and intelligence and time.
Amir brought in magic spirituality and moving people to tears with the beauty of his renditions.
Rohit Shyam also had the talent and sincerity to do this.
Smita was a far more natural unaffected person than anamika and believed in whatever she sang which makes a great difference.
Vibhore was also natural till the judges decided to get rid of him by deriding him constantly.
Sad the way things have turned out but the most injust decision was the way amir was booted out with careful planning within a metter of a couple of weeks.
I am appaled and I feel that we should do something about all this.

Hi,
Judges ( specially Sonu Nigam) first changed the rule to protect Vasundhara from elimination but it did not work. Sonu Nigam did succeed in eliminating Amir ( better singer ) & deprived him from coming in top 3.Indian votes Amir is #1 & after International votes ( combined) Amir is eliminated. Zee Tv & judges are really trying their best to fool public. So sad.
Sonu Nigam & Suresh Wadkar must have gone on vacation to celebrate their victory. Hope, they don’t come back before learning some manners( how to treat little kids & be fair ).Sonu Nigam also needs to take some lessons in public speaking so he never uses ( gareeb, thali etc) for anyone.
Star Voice Chote Ustad show rating must be up.Who knows, what happens with public votes.

You are mistaken that the judges wanted to protect Vasundhara. If they had I would like to salute them for she is the only kid who has the capacity to render soulfully. Inside scoop is that they went all out to protect Rohanpreet. Vasu was eliminated. They could have retained her but they didn’t. It was prolly Rohan at the cost of other contestants. I feel Chote Ustaad has the best bench of judges. Sometimes I really wish Vasu had been there. She would have rocked.

I am posting this comment for my friend Akshay Kumar, the actor. In all fairness, I was extremly hurt when small little boy Tanmay requested Akshay to come to the stage and support him in his song. Whatever his reservations might had been, the fact remains that when you are invited to grace such an occasion, which the whole universe is watching, you do not behave in such a manner which may not only look biased on your part but also may send wrong signals to the viewers, and in particular, to your well wishers. I am not trying to pass sermons to Akashay but I am trying to bring an important point to his kind knowledge that a small boy is a small boy, and if, for a moment he puts himself into Tanmay’s shoes and look at the whole issue in totality objectively, he would realize how gruesome it was on his part to have neglected a kid of 10 years of age. He hugged Rohanpreet as well as Anamika but he did not show the same quality of love towards this little boy. It is really sad and disheartening. I would like to request the management team of SA-RE-GA-MA-PA to apprise the guest about these small facts of decency before they come on the stage to honour such an event.
I would also like to apologize if my these comments have hurt Akshay in any way. There is a big difference between us and the small children. We go to encourage them and not to discourage them. Any nasty and sensitive remark can be conveyed to the participants, off stage, in the most polite and appropriate language.

The whole game depends on which part of India or which state in India spends more money on voting and depending on that Zee plays games.
If a Bengali, Assami, Punjabi participants are there then tons and trucks of votes come from these states. The participants from these states need to be just average singers and they will get into top 3 however excellent the other participants are.
During the non-elimination round it was Rohanpreet who was eliminated and how could Zee offered to risk its profits from Punjab? He gets votes from Punjab, Canada and UK. So, it’s a lot of money for Zee and how could Zee cut down on its profits if Rohanpreet was eliminated and ditto with Anamika. I am not saying Anamika is not a good singer, I know she is talented and so was Amir. But we know about the parochial Bengali and Assamese votes. So, the whole game is which community spends more money on voting so that Zee could make money and accordingly the participants are praised highly and criticized severely. If Muslims had voted for Amir a lot, if Muslims also had spent a lot of money in voting for Amir then Amir was never criticized or if Madhya pradesh was like Punjab state or Bengal/Assam, in that case also Amir was never criticized and eliminated.
It’s all to do with money!!! Why there are no South Indian participants? Because Zee knows South Indians don’t spend so much money on voting. Even if a south Indian is there he/she will be eliminated however good the singer he/she is because north Indians don’t vote for them and south Indians don’t spend money in voting. Also, for South Indians it’s the language, they prefer their local language more than Hindi. So, we see almost no candidate from South India. Also judges don’t go to South India for selection. Its not that there is no talent in South India, it’s just to do with money.
Paisa bolta hai!!! Zee just wants to make good money. In that process if the talented singer has to be eliminated then he/she is criticized heavily and eliminated.
During Raja, Amanat and Aneek time, it was Raja who was leading but Zee wants to have Bengali as a winner hence all that controversy of Zee letting people use software to cast votes. Because Zee knows if they keep Bengalis happy then they keep making good money from them. Zee just needs to have a reasonably good singer from Bengal or Assam state in every competition and their profit will be taken care by Bengalis and Assamese. Raja was from Rajasthan and Rajasthan is not known to be spending more money on such shows. So, why would Zee keep Rajasthan happy? So, Zee smartly made Raja no.2 and made Aneek a winner. So that, Bengalis are always enthusiastic in spending more and more money on voting in every competition!!! And Zee will have at least one candidate always in their competition from Bengal/Assam state.
Hence we see so many Bengali winners Shreya Ghosal (correct judgment), debojit (very bad judgement), Sanchita (open to discussion, if Sameer was better), Aneek (clear controversy). And now it would be either Anamika or Rohanpreet because both these states are profitable to Zee.
That is the reason why Aneek was introduced in the middle, because Zee wants to have at least one Bengali or Assami in the competition to make more money. Aneek would have got eliminated in the beginning because he was like a stranger but Zee wanted to keep him at any cost and hence we see all those love stories and dramas to connect to people and Zee successfully made a lot of money from Bengalis.
These reality shows suck big time and they are conducted only to make people emotional and earn a lot of money!!!
The states which are most profitable are Bengal, Assam, Punjab and Maharashtra. Hence you will see at least one candidate from at least one of these states in every competition. Even if they are average singers, they will be the winners. One more example is Abhijit Sawant. Amit sana was a better singer than him. But Jai Maharashtra!!! And hence Abhijit Sawant was praised highly every time to make him a winner.
If you spend money your candidate will be praised if not he/she will be criticized and eliminated. Simple!!! There is nothing to do with talent. Every channel is in business but Zee is too unethical in these matters compared to other channels.

I am from Malaysia and have been following these to see the winners and i am seeking talents, not votes. I think voting makes politics involved and favoritism is thus being applied to the little talented ones.
I swear that Amir Hafeez is damn good! He shud be in the top 3 alongside with the little vasundhara and annamika. These are PURE talents.
Did you guys notice the way Rohanpreet sing? He can’t even sing classical at all. Ask him to do the exact songs Amir and Annamika sang! I bet the judges knew it was totally UNFAIR to judge these talents via votes.
Come on ZEE, money isn’t everything to these little ones. You have made a laughter of yourselves as judges here. Rohanpreet MUST be totally OUT! Start looking at your ratings! Vishal Shekhar said the voting was clear… well they are smart enough to be good with Zee unlike Ismail Darbar. Amir Hafiz should have been eliminated long back because he forgot the lyrics more than once!!! What a big sin!! Wow I didn’t know that its a competition to chek the memory of the contestants and that too with kids!!! More over knowing the fact that Amir can’t write and read and he needs to memorize the songs by listening alone which Sonu himself acknowledged it in the show and admired Amir for his perseverance and dedication.
Sandip Acharya got more than 95% votes from Bikaner!!! How do you know that he got 95% of votes from Bikaner alone? Can you give me the statistics?
95% of what number????? We know about Prashant Tamang the winner of Indian Idol 3 and he got around 7 crore votes a substantial part coming from Darjeeling and the Nepali community. So, I am talking of such numbers which tend to come form eastern part of India.
Well as I told, I am not against anyone here but Zee. Hope you understand it. People are free to vote for whomsoever they like and if they vote based on who they can identify with, I can totally understand that.
As I have previously mentioned I believe that Zee is far more unethical than other channels and hence examples of winners of sony and star shows are not totally applicable to this argument.
By the way I have said in my previous post that Anamika is a talented singer and I believe it and so was Amir.

I am done with all the reality shows. I only watch news channels now. Also, I am done with serials in India especially K serials, can’t stand any more. I watch ‘Baa Bahu aur Baby’ though, it gives me positive energy unlike other serials which spread only negative energy.
Of course, I like the sitcoms ‘Everybody loves Raymond’ and ‘Friends’.
Off late, I am following US elections. This is so very interesting to listen to these cadidates. I hope in India also we have such debates among the nominated candidates. Waiting eagerly to see what happens on March 4th in Ohio and Texas.

i have really really got disappointed to see the poorest performance ever in last two episodes.
All of the competitors were singing so flat that even a dumbest person could judge that their choices are tired voices.
I am 100% sure that if sonu nigam jee and suresh vadkar jee had been judging in these two episodes they would have surely become disappointed on such poor performances. i have been trying so hard to fin a single song without errors. mistakes could be avoided but damn it.. it were all errors.
only rohan preet sang last song in last performance which was better only because 1) it was punjabi song. 2) only mukhra was better not antra.
and truly commented by some one above. Amir had the spirtuality in his voice which was thrill of the show. people used to await for him to sing and produce a beautiful effect on soul.
but again judges cant be blamed. these three have been trying to rule over others with cheeky tactics. but now they have proved that public voting (or zee’s politics) have been exposed clearly.

This what Zee wants people to be so that Zee can make a lot of money!!! Hence, there was a non-elimination round to save Rohanpreet because he gets votes from across the globe (Punjab, Canada, UK) in the grand finale. It’s during the grand finale time that these channels make a lot of profit. So, Zee wanted to make money from Bengalese, Assamese and Punjabis in the grand finale so Zee didn’t mind if Amir was eliminated in the process of saving Rohanpreet. It’s all to do with money and nothing else.
Please note I am not against any one or any region or any community but only Zee.

he has a swollen head just because he has four hits in the oast year! he thinks he is sucha big shot!
first he acts like hes a huge champion of children when he brings the poor girl on stage (which we all know now is a publicity stunt) and then he shows his true colors when he he flatly and rudely refuses tanmays request! how high and mighty could u be to deny a small child…to simply stand on stage beside him and just move his hips! many much bigger stars have and yet he refuses! its ridiculous for a grown man to break a small childs heart!
and i say this not just because it was tanmay who was treated like that…but simply because a SMALL CHILD WAS ASKING SOMEHING FROM AN ADULT..AND WAS RUDLEY DECLINED.
at one point people like amir khan was teaching us how to love a child when people like akshay kumar proves that really…some people do not value children.
@Rohini – It’s great that your post is totally backed by facts. It’s really sad to see that Zee is sending such immoral message out. Had it not been a kid’s program, it would have been wrong but to bring these politics in kid’s show is horrible. Zee shame on you. I am glad that I unsubscribed zee few weeks ago and not missing it for a single moment. I didn’t watch any saregamapa online either. It’s my way to boycott.
What I still don’t understand is how many people still agree with what zee and sonu did. Many rational folks have giving such great arguments here. I guess people see what they want to see…

So you are alleging that I copied news articles from publicly published news papers? So what are you accusing me of here, the information is public anyway, I am just bringing it to the notice of people in this blog.

I tell each and everyone in this blog to go through all the posts in the thread in that blog (about Zee’s unethical tactics). I don’t have a different mail id there. My id is the same and you can see many of my posts on this topic. We have had a series of discussions. I have copied the article which came in newspapers and not the words of any blogger there. These articles were posted in that blog by a person named ‘musicbuff’ and I posted the article here to substantiate and support my argument.
By the way, such articles are available everywhere and once they are out its no one’s property. It was not musicbuff’s and it is not mine. I never said I wrote those articles or neither musicbuff said he wrote those articles.
So truth, you are one of them in that blog with a different name here and your blog id is truth, ha ha ha.
1. Why didn’t you mention that I started the discussion on this topic in that blog?
2. Why didn’t you mention that we have had such a series of discussion on this topic from last few days in that blog?
3. Why didn’t you mention that a few people have agreed on some points and a a few are still arguing?
4. Why didn’t you mention that I have got the “verbose blogger award” in that blog? That’s because my posts have been very elaborate and detailed and I have taken the time to explain my point of view in that blog?
5. Why didn’t you mention that these articles were posted in that blog to substantiate my point by musicbuff? And that musicbuff said clearly that these articles substantiate Rohini’s point.

I only write when I see something disgusting!
For example when RohitShyam, Smita and Sayon were eliminated then nobody even bothered. Only when Amir got eliminated then Zee became bad.
It happened in the challenge 2007 show also. One by one contestants got eliminated and everything was fair and fine.
When Junaid got voted out, Zee became bad. When Mussarat got eliminated then Zee became worse and when Amanat and Raja lost to Aneek then all hell broke lose!
I see a clear pattern which is disgusting. And whenever the above named contestants get voted out the membership increases by leaps and bound.

Let me be more specific. Aneek was judged champion of SRGMP bengali by noted and highly regarded classical singers. He is NOT average!
Neither was Sanchita or Debojeet.
In the final round anybody can win which is pure luck!

Just because a few champions came from a particular region of India does not give anybody any right to insult that region(s)! Its India first!

ZeeTv just creating these shows to play with people emotions and grab money. Rohini the article you copied about selecting the contestants from particular vote giving areas seems to be 100% true. Nobody condemn Zee for spreading regionalism. They select contestants from particular areas and when votes asking time contestants ask for votes in their regional languages. In the name of talent hunt they are increasing their bank balance. They make from SRGMP C2007 Rs120 crores. What they gave to the 1st runner-up and second runner-up fu*k all. Cheap Banyas. I think it is about time people should not send any SMS. Let N.Eastern areas and Punjab send SMS coz Ztv is there for them only.

You may be confused about one question after reading my first post which has been the case in the other blog also that “these states (Eastern region, Punjab, Maharashtra) vote a lot and hence their contestants remain in the show then why would Zee need to manipulate the votes in favor of these states”.
What I have missed in my first post is that ‘Zee making a lot of money from voting during the grand finale’. Until the competition reaches top 3 or top 4 or top 5 the voting is pretty low, it’s only during the grand finale that the number of votes increases substantially. And that’s the time (during grand finale) Zee makes a lot of money from these states. Until then Zee sees to it that at least one candidate from one of these states remains in the show so that Zee can make a lot of profit in the grand finale by getting votes from these states.
You may ask why these states don’t vote heavily other times, a couple of points to note:
1. People really get into the “vote for so and so” mode once s/he reaches in the top 4-5 of the contest, until then the level of involvement in the show and identification with the contestant is low. Also, the public is looking for affirmation from the judges and the voting in general, that their region/state’s contestant is a good one and not a dud. The last thing anyone wants to do is support a not so good singer. This argument can be verified by the huge amount of votes that pour in, in the final stages of the contest and not in the 1st few weeks. Zee has to ensure the survival of at least one contestant from these states in the initial weeks so that Zee can make lot of money from the votes this contestant gets in the final few weeks.
2. Once in a while, the contestant may not sing that well and hence overall the votes s/he gets are lower. Or the people in his/her state may get a little lax at voting. This could happen either because of some more important events occurring in their state or as a pure case of probability that folks from a particular state once in while will vote less than the norm. Whatever the reason (contestant’s poor singing or lax voting), the effect is the same. If they let all contestants from these states get eliminated, then a steady source of high income to Zee in the final few weeks would be gone!!! Zee cannot afford that and it is in such situations that it steps in by either keeping a non elimination round or introducing new contestants in between (like aneek and Abhijeet) or bringing in a wild card entry etc etc. Judges support this by suitably altering their comments.
So, I don’t know if they rig the votes but I believe they alter the result by such unethical tactics.
Please note I am not against any state or community or region, I am only against Zee’s unethical practices.

You are so very good in analysing. You have given the clear picture how Zee eliminates each candidate per se according to the Revenue they receive from each state. They may be coaching or advising the Judges to act accordingly so they can brainwash the public.

Rohini’s citation is still flawed. Because just giving a citation doesn’t help..either you got to rephrase the words of the original writer or you got to use paranthesis. Go check APA (Americal Psychological Association) Manual I guess the latest eidition is 4th. It has all the guidelines of what is not plagiarism. Rohini clearly plagiarized !!!Rohini better have some originality!!

Problem is even the citations given are half . It seems I have been watching some other program! When Aamir was in Bhopal the same number of crowd was there to receive him! It happened with Raja when he was in Bikaneer, Amant Ali, Junaid and Mussarat. Nothing has been mentioned about those incidents, but only about Punjab and Assam.
No, I must be watching some wrong channel and need to switch my cable provider!
BTW, in the site mentioned by the great exponent of fair play I also wrote under the same screen name in challenge 2007.
