3 people from Pakistan did not make it to the Surinam show on 24 nov. Somebody let me know the current status
Where can I buy the tickets for Chicago Dec. 15th show - and where in Chicago is the show - does anyone know?
@$hashi
From the link :

which is about the SRGMP concert in Suriname, it is mentioned that Poonam could not make it to the show because her mother died. If this is indeed the case, we are saddened by the fact. Also, why you have not mentioned or thought it important to mention it on this blog. Please look into this matter and kindly let us know about it. Thanks for the nice work that you have been carrying on.
Hi Ashraf: I tried this link and I am getting a message about a virus in the translation aspect. Is there an other way to get the text? Thanks.
Uttam
@Ashrafji
Thanks for the link. Indeed, the news is not good. With Mussarat, Amanat and Poonam missing from the show, there is no excitement left in the show for me, at least.
But is the news about Poonam’s mother right? I hope and pray that it is wrong.
@Rekhaji
It is indeed very depressing news that besides the three good singers from Pakistan, Poonam is also not on the tour. While suring the apnicommunity website somehow I came to know that during the Best of Saregamapa show (on Zee Music, which I was unable to watch) Poonam mentioned that her mother was ill, and while others were making preparations for the World Tour, she was facing the dilemma, whether or not to got, having to leave her mother in such a condition. I have not been able to ascertain any fact about her, as there is hardly any site or forum which might provide the necessary information. Lets hope Shashi or Basuji find out the truth.
I also came across an info (whether a fact or a rumour) that Amanat was unable to go on tour as he had to undergo a surgery in his throat. Without these four star performers, the entire show might just be a farce rather than an event to be enjoyed.
@Uttam
I have been able to successfully visit the link. However, you may please follow the link below:
http://www.surinametimes.com/smartcms/news.asp?nID=10255
you will see the text “[print bericht]” on the top left of the article, click on it, then on the resulting page select the text, go to google, using their translate service, translate the text from Dutch to English. This is all that I know can help you. Hope you are able to succeed this time.
To everyone the moderator of SRGMPchallenge2007 site, anshi has posted this info:
Challengers Amanat, Mussarat, Junaid and Poonam did not perform on the first two shows of Saregamapa World Tour 2007.. at Port of Spain, Trinidad..
Amanat, Mussarat and Junaid could not make it because of either Visa problem or the State Of Emergency Situation in their country..
But the most sad part is..
Poonam could not come because her mother is very sick.. She did even mention this in her interview at Best of Saregamapa Challenge 2007.. that she is in two minds whether to go or not for World Tour.. as her mother’s health is not good.. and she doesnt feel like leaving her in this situation..
All these challengers may join the tour after December 15th…
Note: The reason for Challengers not attending the tour is not confirmed.. But the news that they actually didnt perform for first two shows is confirmed..
This is really sad.. I was only going for this concert just for Amanat and Poonam.. Hope they join other soon.. So that I can watch them live..
Which means that Poonam’s mother is only sick, and that is why Poonam was unable to proceed with the rest on the World Tour.
To Ashraf and Rekha
Welcome back to saregamapashow….
Regarding the saregamapa tour, its true that Amanat, Mussaraf, Junaid and Poonam were not part of first two programs (cos of visa problem and Poonam couldn’t go cos her mother is ill). But its not confirmed whether these participant will attend rest of the tour or not. I have sent email to New Jersy event manager and waiting for replay. The organisers don’t have any official website nor the Zee. And they dont even give the proper info…If these four contestants are not going on tour then its really disappointing for their fans…
Regarding Poonam, I have no idea about the health of her mother. There is no any news availabe…i also only saw her in interview (best of saregamapa) saying her mother is ill…Hope she will be fine soon and Poonam will be on the tour…
Shashi
@$hashi,
Thanks for the information. We all pray to the Almighty that Poonam’s mother is well, and gets speedy recovery, and that Poonam alongwith the three Pakistani singers, joins the tour,so that their ardent fans like us are not deprived of the great opportunity. This is also a great opportunity for these singers to showcase their talents, and in the process get more attention of the bollywood big wigs.
As for welcoming us back, we were never gone, although the frequency of our posts did go down, I always made a point to visit this blog daily, and will continue to do so.
Great job Shashi, keep up the good work.
Hello Shashi,
Thanks so much for the information about the World Tour. It is indeed disappointing to see that the most talented contestants can not be a part of this show. I was planning to go to the show only to meet Poonam and Mussarat. I will pray for Poonam’s mother. With God,s grace she will come out of this sickeness and will be able to share Poonam’s success.
All the major cities in US are hosting the show before Dec 15 so I have doubts if these 4 talented ones will be able to join the rest of the group. Let us hope that they can.
Thanks for welcoming us back but like Ashraf said, we never left this blog. I visit it everyday for information although I must admit that not much interaction has taken place from my end.
You have done a great job in making this blog such an interesting place to meet good people so we will be around.
Thanks
Rekha
Hi Ashraf: I tried the original site on a different server and it worked fine this time. Thank you very much. I am sure both Amanat and Junaid have many Indian fans as well in New York area and now it seems unlikely that these two are joining rest of the participants. It is very disappointing.
Uttam
where can i buy tickets for the toronto concert????
Dear All,
Please keep us update.
If Mussarat, Poonam, Amanat & Junaid are not coming i have no intrest in the show.
I am very sad to hear about Poonam’s mother.
Would like to find out who is coming to Chicago ?
For sure i am not going to see Mauli or Aneek.

Raja, Harpreet, Aneek, Sumedha, Mauli & Diwakar(Little Champ Finalist) are already on the tour party. Mussarat and Junaid possibly have visa issues and will join when things are sorted out. Poonam too is also expected to join the tour. Amanat and others won’t be on the tour.
Mr.Pankaj Shukla who is a big name in journalistic circles has confirmed that Poonam has also recorded a song for the bhojpuri film Bhole Shankar. Pankaj Shukla said “You will be glad to know not only Poonam but I have recorded a song in the voice of Ujjaini as well. Poonam has sung a very melodious separation song and Ujjaini has worked wonders for a song that she shares with Manoj Tiwari and Indu Sonali. Poonam shares credits of the song with none other than legendary singer Shailendra Singh in the film Bhole Shankar.”
I hope you people will appreciate this news. Just pray for speedy recovery of Poonam’s mother.
Thanks Ashraf..I have already updated the schedule…Amanat is not comming on the tour (confirmed) but others are expected to be there….
$hashi,
You are doing an excellent job, and we really appreciate it. However, if any one of does post any comment/extract from other site on this blog, we do so as our contribution, and to supplement the nice work that you are already doing. This is the only way we feel we can help you. Our only motive is to keep this blog live and active, and be the source of discussion and information to whoever would like to visit it. When we were in dire need of information regarding SRGMP this was the only blog that helped satiate our thirst/hunger for the much desired information, and that is why we not only would like to just visit and appreciate, but also to contribute in whatever manner we feel we possibly can. No other site can take the place of this blog. Even though we have been frequenting Senty’s blog, and in my case visit lots of other sites/blogs to gather information, this is the only place that I appreciate and long to visit most of the time.
Oh thanks Ashraf for nice words…btw where is senty? havent heard anything from her..is she going for any concert? and what about you? are you going for any event?
I will attend london event..though prices are too much (£30 or £50)
thats VERY dispointing that Amanat wont be on the tour…hes the only reason why me and my cousins were going to go and i was sooo excited!:(
@$hashi
Prices do seem to be on the higher side. But what do you expect these organisers to do. They are out to make a killing and derive maximum advantage from the current popularity of SRGMP contestantants.
Senty is very much around, and active on her blog, writing comments and Shayri. Don’t know which concert she might attend. As for me, I work in a call centre in Bombay, and I never intended to attend any of the concert. I enjoy watching it on TV or download the videos from Youtube and watch it on my PC.
With the best of the lot missing from the concerts, just imagine the state of mind of sponsors/organisers - the face they have to put up, excuses they have to put forward, and what not. With Amanat finally not going, let’s hope Musarrat, Poonam and Junaid make it in time, so that the much hyped but not too greats do not hog all the limelight, and that the deserving at last get the recognition and plaudits they duely and rightfully so deserve.
Guys n gals,
We just came back from the Saregama show at the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey and we had a rocking time there. I never realized Harpreet was such a good singer and dancer !!! His energy and singing skills were the highlight of the show. Mauli was her usual best and was doing most of the talking during the show besides singing..Musarrat and Junaid sang some slow songs. Sumedha sang 2 slow songs of her quota of 3, the faster one being Beedi from Omkara. Each singer was allowed to sing 3 songs individually all by themselves. Raja was amazing - all the girls were going crazy over him and he sang quite well. Aneek was good as ever. The surprises for us were Harpreet who sang great songs and Diwakar who has absolutely stunning voice - I never imagined a kid could have such mature voice !!! The last one hour of the show was a medley with multiple singers singing some great numbers. Unfortunately for us, Amanat and Poonam did not sing as we were told there were some unavoidable circumstances.
Other than that, we were all dancing to the tunes and had a great time. For those of you still on the fence deciding whether to go or not, I would suggest you do go. I am sure everyone will have a great time….Have fun folks…I think NJ folks were lucky enough to see all of the singers active and at their best. I hope the singers keep up the same energy throughout their remaining US tour…
HI Sonu…
Thanks for the update…wow!!! it seems you have really great time at the show…Do you have any pictures of this show? and would you like to share them with us?
Shashi
hi guys
does anyone know if saregamapa is coming on tour to south africa???? we are huge fans out here and really wana meet the stars.
Sorry Shashi. I did not carry a camera with me, silly me !!! I am sure some photos will turn up online soon.
@Sonu: Thanks for giving us update about the NJ show. I am glad you thoroughly enjoyed it. I am hoping they will schedule a show in New York City as well. I suppose some ethnic newspapers like the ones you see at grocery stores in tristate atea has given a formal reveiw of the NJ show you attended - if you happen to see such write-up will you please drop a line on this site. Actually I am trying to get more details about the NJ show so as to determine if I should attend it when it comes to NY.Thanks again.
Uttam
Hello everyone,
This is what I came across on the Challenge2007 site:
Poonam Jadau - One of the strongest contestants of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.. who got eliminated towards the end, has her kitty full with offers. “Winning was never my concern. I was more happy about getting a platform to showcase my talent and so just concentrated on my performance.” No wonder then the girl’s bagged big offers like from Nikhil-Vinay, Sajid-Wajid and a US movie where actor Gracy Singh would be playing the lead.
I am extremely delighted by this news more than anything else. This shows that “Upar wale ke ghar Der hai Andher naheen.” At last people have awaken to realise and recognise the true talent. May the Almighty bestow upon Poonam lots and lots of such offers, and some big ones from big banners too.
From what I have been reading on various sites, Aneek has turned out to be not so popular on the world tour. Raja is way ahead in terms of popularity, and even Harpreet and Sumedha have overtaken Aneek when it comes to popular support.
Someone asked about SRGMP World Tour in South Africa. Well, Aditya announced on Saturday that they will be touring South Africa. Details are not yet out.
hey can you please do a concert in new york!
The Show in Continental Arena, NJ was exciting and exhilarating. It was so exciting to see them so up close and personal. After watching them for so long on TV, it was a treat to watch them perform live. I was very close to the stage so as they came through the crowd, was able to wish all of them well and shake their hands. I also had an opportunity to speak with Mauli and Aneek after the show. They are so humble, polite and sweet.
I think everybody missed Amanat and Poonam. Raja was clearly the seasoned perrformer and you could see has years of experience. I think he broke a few hearts especially a lot of the girls have realized by now that he is married. Everybody was delighted when Diwakar sang. He got a standing ovation. Harpreet, Mauli and Sumedha did a good job. Mussarat was fantastic but I wish he would have sung “Afree Afree”. Aneek was very melodious and sang the beautiful number from Kal Ho Na Ho. Wish he would have sung Main Agar Kahu. He is such a young boy. I give him lots of kudos for holding his own in this harsh competitive world of music and films.
The most beautiful thing was that the team spirit and the friendliness amongst them all that had always seem to have come through during the SRGMP show was so apparent at the live performance. Raja and Aneek seemed to have a rocking time singing a few songs together. It is so nice to see young people having fun which is I think is what ultimately matters.
God bless all of them. I wish all of them much success in life.
@Mousumi: Thank you very much for the detailed write-up about the NJ show. How come you have left out a very important member of the group: Junaid - he has a huge fan following. When you get a chance will you please let us know about his performance in the NJ show.
@Ashraf: I agree with you. Even in the advertisements on Indian TV I see in New York, Harpreet,Raja are definitely getting more attention than the winner of the contest.
@anonymous: Even I am waiting for the annoucement as to when the show is going to be performed in New York. When this annoucement is made please do drop a line on this site.
My thanks to all of you,
Uttam
Lets thank to International Promoter from england Mr.Safdar Hussain whose hardship with all the thrust made Musarrat and Junaid join the show in New Jersy.
He went twice to Pakistan to discuss matter with U.S Embassy in Islamabad, Once he visited from england and finelly he went from U.S.A to Islamabad.
His 100 pct day and night very hard efforts made it psbl to obtain visa on Thursday/29nov afternoon. He and Musarrat were in Islamabad last three days.
The time was too short that Musarrat even did not visited his fmly in Lahore. They flew to Karachi to join Junaid and same night trvld to Dubai and connected flt to USA to arv Newyork on Friday/30nov afternoon(same night was the show in Nj). Musarrat came without his luggage but Mr.Safdar proved to be so helpful supportive that he bought him some cloths and Jacket fm dubai Airport in a short transit time.
Everyone rocked the show in NJ.
Raja proved to be the best entertainer/perfomer.
Musarrat proved to be a real genuine mature singer who touched the soul.
Divakar was fantastic and got a huge standing applaud.
Harpareet was very much involved and very energetic throughout the show.
Juanid was stylish and energetic.
Sumeda sang nice with elegance,She looked like a beauty queen in her white dress.
Aneek was good too.
The last almost one hour was at peak when all the performer were singing together at stage.
Audience really enjoyed by clapping and even dancing.
Sik/NY.
Just came from Atlanta SRGMP show. Amanat Ali and Poonam weren’t there. I was very disappointed and felt betrayl. Everyone did a good job specially Mussarrat, Divakar and Mauli. I don’t think that Ismail Darbar’s gharana is coming to this SRGMP tour.
@anonymous:Thank you so much for posting a very useful and interesting information (11/3/07). Looks like Safdar Hussain is a very determined person and proved that where there is a will there is a way. He should be thanked profoundly along with the two very talented singers whose presence he made possible. You are ahead of all the sites in providing us this info. If you get a chance please update us with the latest about Amanat and how he is doing. Thanks again.
Uttam
@anonymous: Sorry. I meant 12/3/07 not 11/3/07.
Uttam
Uttam:
Sorry I do not know, how I missed Junaid. The fact is I was rushing. But he definitely sang well. He looked a bit tired maybe because of this last minute visa business. I am sure that as he settles into the show he will keep performing well.
Did you get to see them live as yet? If you get a chance you should, you will love it.
Like I said, everybody sang their heart out.
Mousumi:
Thank you very much for the quick response. I understand from one of the posts that Junaid arrived US only on 30th Nov afternoon. I guess he was driven striaght for the concert to NJ. That probably is the reason he looked a bit tired.
I haven’t had a chance to see the performers live as yet. I certainly hope that they will perform in New York.
Thanks again.
Uttam
Dear Uttam i dont want to tell lie. Since u hv asked about Amanat. Then let me tell u the fact that its his father who is been greedy to sell Amanat at a higher rate to other promotor in future. His father does not understand the value given by Zee to Amanat on saregamapa music challenge 2007 stage. He also does not realize that Amanat wl be more valuable and popular after live performances with zee team. Promotors, zee, friends all tried to convince his father but one of his father’s promotor is all behind the scene. They even tried to stop Musarrat but thanks God he refused their idea.
Zee is still trying to convince Amanat’s father but I dont think he wl agree. His father is even trying to blackmail promotors tah he will sing instead of Amanat and wl charge higher rate plus wl give false reason that Amanat is sick.
Mr.Safdar Hussain has tried utmost thru all means but all in vain.
Its really scary that Amanat’s future wl be raelly bad if Zee files lawsuit against him for breaching the contract as he has signed two years contract after grand finales in India.
Lets hope for the good.
Hi Anonymous:
Thank you so much for sharing with us this behind the scene situation. Most of us have been concerned about Amanat’s health but it seems that’s probably not the issue.I am one among thousands of fans of SRGMP2007 and most of us don’t really think about business aspect. This news is something which never occured to me. Many thanks to Safdar Hussain for all the efforts on his part to make the show a grand success both for participants as well as so many fans. Whoever has seen the NJ show is talking very highly about it as noticed from this site itself.Well, thanks again.
Uttam
@$Shashi
Great job with the updates of the World tour. I’m sorry I have missed a lot in the past weeks/months been hecka busy with office work, deadlines etc. In fact, I have been guest-appearing in my own blog .. And totally missing lil Champs.
No clue whats happening in lil Champs.
So thanks for the regular updates here. Awesome job !

Uttam:
Since you did not get to see the show as uet, if you go to You Tube.com and type in “saregama show in New Jersey” in Search, you will get to see Aneek, Raja, Harpreet, Sumedha, Mussarat perform.
You will get some idea about the show.
I would like to know the validity and source of the news that was posted a few post above. I don’t believe its true and regarding this as a personal attack on Amanat, his family and their reputation, unless provided with some valid evidence.
Also, I am reluctant to accept this news due to that fact that an Anonymous user has posted it.
Regards,
Khurram.
I too agree with Khurram that the news or rather allegations against Amanat seems to be totally frivilous and unfounded. The poster of that comment does even has any guts to identify himself/herself. Amanat has been a very beloved and popular contestant of Challenge 2007, and some baiter of his might have made these allegations to malign Amanat’s as well as his family’s name.
Unless and until these claims are substantiated no one in their right senses should give any credence to the above mentioned allegations against Amanat.
@ Khurram and Ashraf Hussain: Thank you so much for making us aware that an outrageous anoymous comments on the one few posts above are very likely by some one attempting to tarnish image of our dear Amanat. I feel bad that by answering that post I might have inadvertently dignified those hurtful comments. We all learn from such experiences. Thanks again for your wisdome and warning us to be careful.
Now on a different subject:
@Mousumi: I canot thank you enough for telling me about two clips on the NJ concert in YouTube. I found them and loved the experience. I haven’t heard any thing about their schedule for New York. I hope we are not left out.
Have a nice weekend folks. Bye for now.
@$hashi,
We have not heard or read anything further regarding the SRGMP World Tour. It would nice if you could kindly update us on the goings on, especially whether Poonam will be joing the Post-US leg of the Tour. All we get to read is the highly partisan views on Raja’s website.
We have also not read anything authentic about Amanat’s absence from the Tour. If Amanat and Poonam do not join the post-US leg of the Tour, it will be huge disappointment for their fans, and for themselves too, as they stand to lose a decent compensation along with International exposure.
Sometimes I get a feeling that being proteges of Ismail Darbar they have not been taken on the tour, as ID launched a tirade against Zee TV. Unless truth comes out in open, we are all left to speculate.
@Ashraf
I am not sure about Poonam..one source said she is ill
“Ali reportedly had throat problems, while Yadav had to be hospitalized for a stomach ailment, one of the singers told India-West backstage.”
