  How many time Amanat has been declared from mentors like Shehkar, ID and even HR that he is true winner. How about legend singers like Jagjeet/Pandit that Amanat is winner of SRGMP.

  Check this website statistics that who is on top. Amanat and Raja are close in votes 38% and Aneek 24%. Check-out http://www.saregamapa2007.com and see the voting statistics. Amanat is leading with almost 50% votes over there. How Zee is getting Aneek on top….? This shows that the # 1 contestant has already been planned no matter what are the actual votes….! How shame is to the integrity of this show and Zee. They call this show is “World cup of singers”. To me it is “Zee cup of its own (Aneek) singer”.

  I bet if Amanat would have been from India/Hindu, he could have won the contest as he is way above than other contestants. —The Most versatile singer—Amanat!

Look at all the winners of all the music contests in India and none of them are won by the most talented guy! And in this show Aneek is by far the best singer.. and that is my perspective..   Michael, do you seriously think the votes cast on this website is a good representation of the voters.. This website is not even visited by 1% of the voters.. so dont baseur conclusions on this website..

  Judges had approved all three singers.. Aneek is the most technically perfect and versatile singer.. If you think otherwise fine.. you dont have to take cheap shots at Aneek to proove ur point. I love both Raja and Amanat and I would not feel sad if even these two win!!!

  My only advice to u is look at the positives and not negatives.. Amanat could reach the top three only because he is loved and respected by many in India.. I like him but I believe Aneek is better! My 2cents!

  There is a difference between a versatile voice and a versatile singer. A versatile voice suits mosts of the songs (with a lil needed variation in tone), whereas a versatile singer is who can sing most kind of songs tho his voice may not suit it (in other words, he may not be the best singer for that song but he can sing it).

  Aneek’s voice resembles sonu or maybe since he is a fan he sings like him; either way, In the last 3 years i have seen 10 singers with exact same voice and none of them made a big break; Aneek however is best of that lot.

  Lastly, Has HR promoted Aneek cheaply, brought him into limlight? YES he has…if you look at today’s (12th october) episode and where Karina Kapoor walks towards Aneek, HR came to the stage and pulled Aditya away from screen space (who was singing with aneek till then and was heading to join both kareena and aneek). HOWEVER, that has nothing to do with Aneek’s talent so no blame to him.

  2) RAJA: IS he an excellent singer? YES]

  Is he a versatile singer: NO

  Does he have a versatile voice: NO

  Raja has been pushed by his mentors again and again mentors to sing outside is sufiana, qawali, classical song base and he has failed most of the times. Eventhough he pulled MITWA (lagaan) of as a singer but he sounded nowhere as a hero (let alone Aamir khan’s voice; watch original on screen and you know why Udit Nayaran ruled playback for sometime). Second case is Paredesi Pardesi (again for aamir) where he was off key as well.

  Having said that, the song that does sound good to his voice, there is no one better for them. In my opinion he has sung “dard-e-Disco” better than sukhwinder (live with no effects at one go) and definately better Piya haji ali (then rehman). He is an exceptional talent and lets face it, versatality is not required to succeed, one can be sucessful in his own range and domain; example: kailash Kher.

  3. Amanat: Is he a versatile singer: Yes

  Does he have a versatile voice: YES

  Should he win the competition: Not necessarily.

  We know from the very start that this is a viewers choice show. So if viewers with to vote for some singer they can and we shouldnt be frustrated at Zee or Sa Re Ga Ma or the judges since they dont hold the cards.

  For a playback singer two things are very important: 1) A UNIQUE voice, 2) A voice that suits a range of hero’s. Though if HR can sing for everyone then we should take the second condition off. But you still need a unique voice to be sucessful. Apart from Mohd Rafi or Kidhoreda; examples are Udit Narayan : the only singer who never sang cover songs to get noticed, still suits most hero’s then any other singer (condition 1, and 2 satisfied).

  Kumar Sanu; was most popular when he made up his now popular nasal twang distinctively different from his kishore clone days (incidentally, no one critized him for being nasal and himesh was bombed, KS is far more nasal then himesh).

  Sonu Nigam: To step out of the image of rafi sahab, he came up with chart busting songs in pop scene with his now unique and popular style; easily the most versatile singer along with K.K.

  Speaking of K.K, he said in an interview that his voice use to resemble too much like shaan so he changed it to what it is today; so again, Uniqueness is the key.

  From All three contestents, I see Amanat to be most sucessful as a playback singer with respect of the above mentioned attributes.

  As for the show, again, its viewers choice, we dont have a say.

  p.s. you dont need to be versatile to be a successful playback singer : Example, Himesh and Kumar Sanu.

  I would like to add one point.
  Sonu struggled from 1990 to 1997 to get rid of Rafi image. It took 7 years but he did it. Because he was tachnically a good singer.
  Why not Aneek do the same. He is one of the best if you compare technicality.

  I think he can get rid of Sonu image too. If you listen to his Manna Dey songs and all other non-Sonu songs. He sang 24 other songs which are not Sonu’s songs.
