As I have seen almost all the episodes, Raja entertained me the most…Raja made even the mentors and many other contestant fans jealous of him and thus we see many anti slogans against Raja.

Though Amanat is more trained and technically better than Raja, I vote for Raja…

very well said. As many on this site already know I am a huge Raja fan myself and have supported him since the first say he stepped on to the stage thru good and bad times.

This is my observation that most spoilers showed up on saregamapachallenge2007.com before any other site.
Also Zee TV does not count the votes themselves. They hired a third-party consulting farm to do that. So if you add up these points you can be assured that information is leaking all along.

Do you think you will win the title?
Raja Hasan: I don’t believe in winning or losing though I know there are a lot of expectations and hopes from my fans and family. For me, the fact that I have reached the final itself is a big achievement.
Amanat Ali: The contest began in May and when I was part of the selected 40 contestants, I never thought I would reach the finals because each was better than the other. Now, I am working very hard to fulfill the expectations of my parents and fans who have supported me.
Anik Dhar: I am very happy to be part of the finale because all the three of us are strong contenders. I am hoping that I do well and I am training hard.
If not you, who do you think deserves to be the winner?
Raja: When the judges themselves have refused to name one singer, who am I to choose. However, I think when it comes to being a trained singer it’s Amanat and when you talk about perfection it is undoubtedly Anik.
Amanat: If not me, I think Anik deserves to be the winner. Not only is he a good singer, he’s also versatile.
Anik: Singing wise Amanat, voting wise Raja. Seriously, I think it should be Amanat.

$hashi is right. I said so a long time ago. Remember the best help we can provide to Poonam is to empower her. Help make herself more marketable so as to create demand for her talent which is already there. Sometimes, Talent and commercialisation of that talent are two different things which may or may not happen the way one might thinks. But always some new opportunities come along. You know that how much I appreciate her singing. For me, she was the best candidate. Anyway, to make herself marketable is going to be achieved in Phases which is good because she will feel more confident when she will cruise through these waters herself while we can provide support. Number of strategies are available that can be dicussed and can be executed once this final is over, but always she has to be the decision maker.

I am so grateful for your reply. I feel at ease that your support is with us in one way or another. It is fine with me if we discusss another strategy after the finals. It appears that the news about their USA tour may be true (intially I took it as rumour) in which case, do you have any information which cities they are going to visit.
Another small question, will you be posting videos of finals on this site. I understand it is going to be live but people like us who have no access to Zee TV channel will miss the “grand finale”.

I have not seen your posts for quite many days and thought you must have gone on a travel expedition since you are a great seasonal traveler.
Actually, I kept myself also away from blogging for many days because lot many comments were out of the decency zone.
I quite agree with most of your statements. You are right that she has to sail through rough waters herself. We all have done that at one point or another in our lives and it does boost one’s confidence every time you make it on your own (of course, with the help of God for sure). It is just that I feel if we could provide her a small boat (the support network), her sailing will be little easier. My only worry is that after the finals, every one will go back to their own lives and we will loose the momentum. I may be wrong but that is the concern I have.
Otherwise how are things at your end?. Dear Senty has a created a separate music forum so please share some of your shayari on that site.

Thanks for your valuable comments. I too believe that the initiative must come from Poonam herself.If she shows an inclination for certain option the we are always there to help her. I have been corresponding with Basumatikaji and let it be known about the same. One other gentelman from the US has actually been corresponding with me and asked me about the cost of accommodation in Bombay, so that Poonam can be settled in the city, he is willing to pay the cost, and is planning to organise concerts in the US.I have told Basuji that first of all Poonam need to take a decision in this regard.

As far as Final is concerned, even I am looking forward to it, simply for Poonam’s sake/performance. It is because I have lost all faith in Zee, Ismail Darbar, HR and VS team, after seeing the way they acted at the time of Poonam’s elimination. Anyway the travail will make Poonam a tougher and more strong willed person.
Bearing in mind points 10 and 11 of the SRGMP contest rules, Zee people can still pull a Hadouni, and announce Poonam as the Joint winner (She is already a winner amongst the girls). Let and hope and pray for the best.

Poonam’s tour to US countries, along with other contestants of the SRGMP, is 100 percent sure, because Musarrat confirmed this to me when I had a talk with him. This tour is likely to begin from 25th of November. I will try to find out which cities will they visit.
We can think of some strategy for Poonam, once this finale is over, because all of these contestants are under a contract with ZEE till 13th. After that, they are free to take their own decisions and decide their future line of action.
Don’t you worry ! God is always there for those who have no one for them. Real talent cannot go unnoticed and Poonam has already been noticed by such personalities, whose decisions could make a difference. The purity of her heart and simplicity of her behaviour are certainly going to pay her. To rescue you from the sadness, I am writing the following lines ! Please read them and be cheerful:

Poonam has been a well know face by now, and I have come across people on various other sites who praise her so much. Starvoiceofindiashow.com even has a thread commending Poonam on her rendition of Kuhu Kuhu bole. They have thoroughly analysed this song, and complimented Poonam for singing such a complex and complicated composition. Considering that she has such a pure and untainted heart, and the emotions which she has stirred in our heart, the day is not far when she will be crowned as a new singing sensation, and a true successor to our legends Lataji and Ashaji– AMEEN

Actually the Too-Too-Mai-Mai going on about the “who will win the contest” issue was getting so boring that I decided to keep away for some time.
The efforts being made by yourself and Basu are incredible. I want to say that I am always there to help, if there is something I could do in this regard.

1. The final winner, which will prove the honesty or otherwise of this show.
2. Poonam and Musarrat’s performances.

In a single movie songs, we can hav Sukhwinder only for once, no more than that, that’s gonna be Raja’s case. However we can have Sonu Nigam for any genre songs in a single movie because he’s versatile and that’s Amanat’s or Aneek’s quality.
When it comes to Raja during performance, he is so out of this world n as soon as the performance is done n he’s asked a question, he wud go naive. Raja ur so lucky that Indians r voting for u, u dun deserve it cuz u’r not versatile at all!
Not because I’m Pakistani, I favor Amanat, If not Amanat then I’d luv to see Aneek as a winner, but for some reason I can’t stand Raja.
It’s pathetic. for some reason India is not voting for Amanat and this cud b no other reason than Amanat being a Pakistani. However Pakistanis shud be thankful to India for giving Amanat such a gr8 honor. No doubts abt that!! Whether Amanat wins or not time will tell who gets more work Amanat or Raja.
Raja is a super drama, made a habit of becoming innocent and diplomat at every single place even when asked for who’ll be the winner, if not u. On the other hand, Aneek and Amanat think the same way as sensible listeners n viewers wud say.

From TORONTO, Canada: We are voting for Amanat with 100% confidence that he is overall the most technically proficient and versatile singer of the bunch. If you don’t think so, then your thoughts are largely sujective which doesn’t count for anything when it comes to reaching an ojective decision as to who the winner should be in any competition such as this.
To reinforce the above, you absolutely cannot ignore the comments of Jagjit and Jasrat Singh to Amanat during the ghazal episode.Their definitive/conclusive comments was their public endorsement that he should be the winner.
Their comments can also reasonably be considered a wakeup call to this judging system which uses public votes to determine a winner of the competition. I think the voting has worked well to determine the best 3, however from this point on the winner should corectly be done by qualified music directors/professionals who have objective “ilm” in the art of sangeet.
If anyone watched the Amul Star Voice of India with Khayyam as the guest when they had to decide which eliminated singers come back, even Khayyam (who composed for classics like Khabi Khabi and Trishul) adamantly stated that the public should not determine winners. But rather, the ultimate winner should be determined by a qualified group …its just common sense. Whenever the Olympics roll around, competitions are judged by qualified groups right? Right. This should be no different when it comes to the Final 3.

Why cant u just support who u think is great instead of hating on raja and his fans? I dont get that.
But anyway its not like it really bothers me because in my heart and mind raja is by far the best and i dont appreciate when it is said that people are voting “blindly” thats sad that someone would say that. And to say that raja does not work hard is again not a fair comment…how do you know that? how do u know hes not actually workin harder than the others? It’s a great joy to see you here again.I was not gone on a travel expedition yet but in December , I am heading to Eastern Europe. But there are lots of days still.
Rekha, God will help Poonam for sure . Keep faith in Him. I feels really great to see all of you back. I too was missing you. I myself was on the verge of leaving the forum forever, as I kept visiting it throughout the day, day after day but not seeing any comments from you. But your comeback has prompted me to stay along. It is heartening to know that so many people are coming forward and are willing to help Poonam fullfil her dream. I have come across 2 individuals, once in the US and the other in Canada, who are willing to organise concerts for Poonam in those countries. If things do materialise the way we are expecting then we are in for a great treat of having the pleasure of listening to this pocket size powerhouse.
Ghaffarbhai you are right that God will help Poonam, thats why he has created so many of her fans. People like us and those will throng to her concerts shall act as means (provided by God) to help her achieve her goals.
I too will visit Senty’s blog. It is like an oasis in the desert (so full of crap which self proclaimed lovers of music – but who are in fact so naive and have no sense of what music is, call music).
Have you people watched the Hungama episode just after Poonam’s elimination? She was so calm and composed that those not familiar with her will find unbelievable. Her neighbours and people from her school were so impressed by her achievement. It was really a treat to watch that show.

Bahadur Shah Zafar(takkallus – zafar) was the last mughal emperor of India,
in whose court there were famous poets like Momin, Ghalib and Ustaad Zauq
who was the royal court poet. Zafar himself was a very good poet. The
British banished Zafar to Burma (around 1857), where he died, remembering his
beloved India to the end. Here is a famous ghazal, which Zafar wrote during
his exile in Burma.

Dictionary : dayyar – durbaar, normally a place where one goes everyday, a frequently visited place where the heart feels good, here however, it means Burma, which Zafar says is like a barren land to him;
napaaydar – inconsistent/frail/temporary;
daagdar – sad/hurt/full of sorrows;
daraaz – long/tall/extended;
koo-e-yaar – street of lover, here it means streets/land of my beloved country, since the ‘yaar’ here is India for Zafar.

Wanted to clarify one thing that some one called Anshi has publised some information regarding the votes that Aneek is on top, followed by Raja, and then Amanat.
Is that true if not how did that person get this information?
I think some dirty politics is going on in Zee TV and think they dont want Amanat to win though he is a good singer.

There are some great hindi poetry like someone already mentioned compositions by Gopaldas Neeraj… we should add those as well.
Regarding the telecast, there is the long 4 hour SRGMP slot on Saturday morning (PST) on Zee. My DishTV DVR shows this…
So if I understand correctly, the LIVE starts Saturday at 7.30am PST / 10.30am EST … also confirmed with folks in India that it is on Saturday 8.00 pm IST …
I’m not sure what the 2 hour slot tomorrow (Friday) is for…

anshi is the moderator of the forum called saregamapachallenge2007.com, where most of the accurate spoilers are posted before they appear on any other site. It appears that you have not followed the trend of SRGMP properly. Just recall the time when Musarrat was singing, and he was castigated by VS that he has got stuck with only one genre, and HR was having a tough time holding his fort. We all know that Musarrat is very much capable of singing songs of any genre. Besides Poonam he is the only contestant who has got a highly powerful voice. It was because of HR that he had to sing songs of only one genre. Somewhere around that time HR happened to see the SRGMP Bengali show and saw the talent of Aneek, and also about Zee’s plant to induct Aneek in the mainstream SRGMP. From then on he left no stone unturned in hyping Aneek and virtually abandoning Musarrat. Last time around Debojit defeated HR’s Vinit. So this time ID is also tailing HR and even VS have not just stopped their banter with HR, they too have gone overboard in hyping Aneek. Furthermore the show of extreme agression on HR’s part vis-a-vis Raja, and a somewhat lukewarm effort on VS part to support Raja, has proved, what was coming. It is no surprise that Aneek will win the contest. As all the Inernational votes meant for Poonam were also counted in favor of Aneek. But don’t worry even though if Aneek wins the crown. Raja and Amanat have bright future ahead of them as they possess immense talent and manly voices, compared to Aneek, who though highly talented, has got a childish voice fit for playback singing meant only for Sachin Tendulkar.

As shayari is my first love, you will always find me in that link on your site. The very first ghazal posted by you was very good. I appreciate your taste in this field.
The bhajan you suggested for my list of classical bhajans ( Jyoti kalash chhalke) is from the 1961 film “Bhabhi ki chudiyaan”. The lyrics of this song are written by Pt. Narendra Sharma and the song is composed by Sudhir Fadke. I think we can have two categories for bhajans and this one fits in the second category. I will post a separate write up on that in another post.

This ghazal from the great shayar “Bahadur shah zafar” is my favourite too. Mohd. Rafi saheb has given his golden voice to this ghazal in the film “Lal Quila” and
whenever I listen to it, I am full of tears, at the thought of disappointment that must have been felt by once a ruler of this country.
Your ghazal prem is evident from your choice of this one.

This is a fantastic blog and I have been reading it since the last 8 weeks. I absolutely love the debates here. This is true democracy!!
Well, though I personally support Raja for the fact that he has dedicated himself to music, relocated himself to Mumbai and has been struggling for recognisation. It’s the effort that counts.
I have a lot of time for Amanath. He is a fantastic singer with immense control of the surs.
Aneek is undoubtedly outstanding. If not for Himesh, I think he would have been the most popular contestant (but sometimes I wonder, if not for Himesh, would he be here at all?)
The best man will NOT win the contest, cause best here is a perception. I particularly like Sufi, hence might prefer Raja, someone else might like Aneek’s style of singing or that of Amanath. Hence, best is different for each person.

Amanat deserves to win but he will not. Reasons: You can’t have a paki win on Indian land. It will create chaos among the illiterate Indians in India. 2nd Amanat is frm ID gharana and ID won last year.
So now we have Raja and Aneek. HR has been crying so Aneek has a very good shot at this. Furthermore ZeeTV has been competing with Sony for Bangal TRP so Aneek may have it. However, now that the show is about to be over ZeeTv might not give a crap and just hand it to Raja. They kept Aneek for so long for TRP reasons as they did mauli for a certain time.
Raja: Now he has fan following. Plus they want a Raja Hindustani. They have been calling him that for a reason. It’s called creating a Raja Hindustani thus creating an image. Entertainment industry is about creating image and image leads to popularity. It does not matter how Raja sings and among the two he has messed up the most. Yet, he is still there and still a good singer. The point is no matter what Raja is the winner.
BTW your voting does not mean crap. They have to preplan everything and they don’t have the time to sit there and wait for the results before they start to plan the show. Learn the rules of entertainment industry.

When > Aneek sung ” Satrangi Re” people praised of his caliber. When he sung, “tumko paaya hai ki–from om shanti om” people started listening to the song becasue he sung is beautifully. “Sandeshein aate hain..is yet another example of his prowess.
When Raja entered the show, ” meri zindagi ek pyas” cretaed a whirlpool in me. It was awesome. He created the same magic with “vande mataram” and ” chak de patthe”.
So, all are good, and all of them have their share of people supporting them which in turn is increasing TRP of ZEE. Result of SAREGAMAPA is not goign to increase TRP and you know that after it is over its TRP is going to fall down like anything.
All I want to say is that may the best man win.

It’s clear to see how much love all 3 contestants have received from their fans. As for all the arguing among the fans, it is just a proof of this love. We each want our favourite to win and so much so that we become emotional when faced with a difference of opinion regarding the winner.
I am personally a big fan of Amanat and offcourse want him to win. However, I cannot say that I have not enjoyed performances by Aneek or Raja ( I am not including my other favourites i.e. Mussarat& ponam) since they are no longer in this race to win. Therefore, let’s all end it in a more positive note and not fight with each other. We know there is only going to be one winner for Saregamapa but we have already made all 3 a winner by giving them our love and support.

And, I think all of us now will agree to this fact that Aneek won’t win, because Zee has to come up with a different name this time around when they announce the winner as they want(read plot) to re-pay back the exuberance which public has shown by showing that one day vote count has actualy made difference. BTW I think the vote count which was revealed yesterday was only uptil tuesday. So, we may witness overall count increasing to much more than 3 crores contrary to 1.7 crores right now.

your gesture for helping Poonam is touching. Definitely besides being a good singer, she is a good person. She deserves to win a prize for coming first among the female singers. Zee has earned high TRPs for this show and can afford to make a good gesture.
However I feel that instead of making it look like charity, she should be given a good chance to sing, and get paid for that. Zee should give her a chance.

By the grace of Almighty, Poonam got a little bit of recognition in the form of a Trophy and a Car. I am not sure what use that car will be for her. Zee people, without hurting her self-esteem, should have given her some singing contract, plus some cash reward, to enable her to pursue her dream.
