Raja has great voice,but he is not good in surs,
Anik has nice voice,but 2 problem with that guy,
First Sur are not Strong as Amanat,Second Very familier Voice,So less Chance to hit In market.
For me Amanat is Number one and also i can never Forget Mussarat.I daily watch his performences On youtube.(Best of Luck Mussarat).

I had the same feelings(when Mussarat was eliminated) going on in my mind 2day while seeing Poonam go.
I hope & pray for her success. Did she get any singing contracts????
I must say Amanat completely blew me away today. Aneek, Raja and Poonam all did fabulous job also. I know the final will be based on a lot of things, personality, region, type of songs people relate to; I have no problem with who the eventual winner will be. In democracy, majority rule even if I disagree with them. I have a healthy perspective about the value of saregamapa award. Personally, in my heart of hearts, the winner is already Amanat. In the long run, the true test of any artist; Amanat will be up there with the best of all time. Like we see Jagjit Singh or Ghulam Ali today, someday someone will be singing Amanat’s ghazal or do a rendition of his song. I have no doubt of that whatsoever. That’s all I have to say…I wish all the contestant the best.
today was amanat’s show totally, truly aweinspiring, and this is the first time i have said that about him.. and first time after mussarat that a srgmp singer has has the effect on me.. albela saajan was beyond fantastic..it was the “saanware” moment for amanat, this song.. the ghazal rendition was brilliant as expected, altho he seemed to loose his breath between some lines..
aneek - my respect for this kid has gone up, his surs were perfect.. but his voice was too boyish and lacked gravitas for the songs..nonetheless he was v good..esp the last 1 minute of manna deys song was unfreakin believably good..today kid you were up against tough competition
raja- the ghazal was v good, the manna dey- so so
poonam- only saw the ghazal, she was brilliant and captured the pathos of the ghazal oh so well.. u will be missed girl

i have been away for the past few weeks because of my serious commitments to my work and ramazan. i had a chance tonight to catch up with saregamapa videos and i luckily somehow managed to watch all the last 6-7 episodes in one go. i am so happy to see some of the performances from my dear Amanat (flawless) and Aneek (little penguine) that i can’t express in words. I guess Ustadon ke Ustad have said in the show already.
Its great to see these guys performing amazingly well on the show, this show is a huge success just becacuse of these young stars from all over the world.
It was a bit unfortunate to see poonam go she was very best in the show and i do salute HR quoting ‘tum tamaam ladkiyon main winner ho’
i can still feel the same heat among this club of reviews as it was few months ago and is still the best from all the rest.
flawless pappu: has so changed, the way it used to be, then issues about his singing style, dance, performing, nervousness, etc. etc. He truely has proved all wrong and shown that how much talented and verstile he is. its like seeing him growing up in front of our eyes in the last few months. The way he use to be ‘papu bacha’ and the talent he has shown on the stage in the areas of singing, acting, comedy, dressing, dancing and not to forget performing. he will truely go all the way, he just got to stick to his simplicity. ‘waqayee main sub ko nacha raha hai’ and in gazals episode i predicted longtime ago that he would pacharrr pacharrr ke marey ga (HR style) and as expected he extremely well, ‘hungama hai kyun burpa’ ustad gulam ali sahibs first gazal, he truely sang better than all the rest and then trying to sing ‘albela’ in all the vocal octanes was nodoubt the best and full of emotions nobody could do as best as he did.
i still remember about 8-9 months ago we were accidently watching the final performances of ’saregamapa pakistan-middleeast’ where he sang ‘mitwa’ and then ‘tera jadu chal gaya’ and then some other song that i dont remember, so well that i could not believe such quality in his voice such uniqueness in his style such politeness in his speech such smothness in his singing such understanding of techniques such feel to his work such an emotion in his words….i think i have said enough…
penguin: mini sonu, again he is my second best, my all time favourite is ‘muhammed rafi sahib’ he sang ‘tumhari zulf ke saye mein’ beautifully that i have got no words…’mere rongte khare hogaye man’
and baja, i mean mithun oh, raja: i am having a feel that he is in serious under pressure. his todays performances werent up to the mark. he has got to work hard to put a fight in this contest among the three ARAs to make this contest more interesting and challenging…
all these guys are winners! i just hope that everybody gets a job specially ‘mussarat’ and ‘poonam’ i really feel for these for some reasons. i hope you all agree, i would soon like to hear some songs back ground sound track ‘raag’ of ‘mussarat (ustad nusrat fateh ali khan sahib)’ and playback singing for rani mukerji and kajal by ‘poonam (lata ji + asha ji)’

It is very clear that Amanat Ali is the best of all the singers that this show had. But, he will not win this contest because he wont get the required votes. Another excellent talent will go into oblivion after the channel has made it its money.

Pandit Jasraj ji- no words to describe the pleasure of listening to him on this show.
Jagjit Singh- as always the king of ghazals himself singing his favorite-very enjoyable.
But the show stealer happens to be Amanat. He sang Gulaam Ali’s ghazal with such ease and perfect sur– jiyo Amanat, dil kush kar diya.
Poonam, tumari awaj toh bilkul kudha ke ghar tak ja rahi thee. Truly soulful singing. Sad that you will not participate in the final round but you are a winner already.
Raja was fine but Aneek’s ghazal singing was ok. Aneek was supposed to sing Chupke Chupke raat din according to the posted news so what happened? Rafi sahib ki ghazal aur Gulaam Ali sahib ki ghazal singing mai kafee antar hai.
Aneek should have sing Gulam Ali’s ghazal for proper comparison.

Well Amanat did steal the show… Like many of u made a comment, the “Hungama hai kyo barpa” is vivid in my ears too!! “Laaga chunari me daag” is equally vivid.. Truly both Amanat n Mussarat r musical gifts from Pakistan to us..
And as for Aneek is concerned.. All those who didn’t find his performance good at all - i dont know where do you all see the mistake? Can your ears be better than the Maestros themselves??? That kid gives every performance his all… “Laaga chunari me daag” was just a true classical singer singing w/o a single note here or there… Ghazal too he sang with perfection. Although i too wish he had chosen a Ghulam Ali or Jagjit Singh song.. But one cannot cut his points for singing, as he dint hit one wrong note.. Then why should he be treated as a childish voice, not upto the mark and so on??
And as for Raja.. I think Poonam would have been a more justified finalist.. Her “Kuhu Kuhu bole koyaliya” was superb.. Raja although sang ghazal well, he rly wasnt impressive with “Jhanak Jhanak..” Its the final so Raja has two amazing singers with him, each better than the other.. Raja has to come out of his shell.. Today while singing in the 2nd round, I felt as if ther was too much strain on his voice n i found it going nasal at some places too.. I was wondering why dint he choose semi-classical a song which was based in the Raag that’s popular in those Rajasthani style of songs.. is it Mandvi? i’m not sure.. do correct me if i m wrong..
anyway am eager to watch the finals.. i hope all 3 give ther best!! hope the best person wins this!! but pls dont hesitate to vote when the singer has sung well.. and dont keep grudges on the gurus and thats why end up not voting for that contestant..

You are spot on, good analysis. I agree with you except the “Sanware moment”.
I am of the opinion that “Sanware” was an exception and no one from the remaining lot can match it. But its credit to Mussarat that he nearly matched it with the fabulus performances of “Sajna Re” , “Tere bin nahi lagda dil mera” and “Chal chal”
And I also believe that today we could have watched and enjoyed another magical moment like Sanware if Mussarat was there.
Having said that, Amanat was best today as acknowledged by the great Jagjit Jee & Pundit Saheb. Thats a great compliment to Amanat and he is winner regardless of what happens in the final (although we know what will be..)
cannn someone pleaseee tell me the musical song that was playing in the background when poonam and sumedha both were eliminated was playing. It is not the ismail darbar devdas one…its a girl humming the background when they are talking about how they will miss everything. I thought it was from baabul or something…but i cant pinpoint it…please help i know yall must know…since yall keep up with it so well! :]

I have read most of the comments but I will definitely give number 1 vote to Anik, Anik and Amanat are both good but I think Anik is the best. He is already number one and I hope wins the title in the next show. He is India’s pride!

Anyways.. here’s my long drawn critical analysis -
First of all, we are all blessed today that finally we moved away from the other mindblowing Joners that were killing us week after week and making us seek entertainment from the wrong side of the stage.
But, today, each of the 4 gave excellent performances…each raising their standard to a height never before reached in this srgmp season.. For that alone, kudos to all of them.
Pt Jasraj’s “Mohe laagi lagan guru charanan ki” was a great way to start the show. I’ve been in awe of Jagjit S for ever and was really impressed with Zee for finally redeeming their weeks of bandar-bazi by taking this one smart step.
It was funny how JagjitS sang “ahista ahista” a little differently to suit the current crop of “music” lovers and twisted the beautiful ghazal accordingly !
For the next generation srgmp, JS may have to compose a rap version of this classic ! Jeez, I hope I am long gone by then !
Hmm… arent you supposed to take off your “hat” when you greet a big dignitary, or in this case TWO dignitaries?

Raja… beta.. mujhe tumse yeh umeed nahi thi !! I had high hopes from Raja coz someone said his dada pardada were ghazal singers and that ghazal singing is in his khoon… He started off well, went out, came back, and then he was all over the place. But he had the right expressions on his face, put on a professional ghazal singer attitude. So maybe he did sing well, and I just dont know what I am talking about.
Two things…
- Raja attempted a more difficult version of “Awargi”. So special credit for that.
- Raja was the first performer today … abhi tak Aneek, Poonam aur Amanat se pala nahi pada hai. So it was not surprising to see so much praise coming his way @ this point.
Aneek - *spoilers* said “chupke chupke”… but he sang Rafi’s “Tumhari zulf ke saaye mein” from Naunihaal. Very beautiful song. One of my most fav. And Aneek, beta, bahut achcha gaaya tumne. Dil khush ho gaya. Absolutely perfect sur. His soft voice suited the song very well. Well.. he didnt capture the essense of the original song. But I dont want to dig for faults here… Again, this is a song I’ve heard a gzillion times. But I cant take away anything from Aneek on his performance. It was brilliant. I think it was a smart move by HR to pick a ghazal that required less urdu diction

It was a beautiful gesture on Zee’s part to bring Poonam’s mom to see her perform live on stage. That too at this level of the contest. A proud moment for any parent to cherish ! Kudos Zee !
Poonam’s Jagjit Singh composition “Dard se mera daaman bhar de” was just divine and extremely heartfelt as many of her other performances. I loved Poonam’s version over Lataji’s ! Sorry Lataji. (More on this later in the non-srgmp
) And Poonam looked absolutely beautiful today.
Mahabali - I died and went to heaven. Did you hear him sing today? God.. I wish Ghulam Ali saab had been in the maha guru seat as well ! Just look at the expression on the faces of the guest gurus !

Aneek - sang the acid test “Laga chunri mein daag”. And was excellent. This guy IS talented. I give him that. Except his voice was not strong for this song. It sounded a bit too soft.
Gaana start karne se pehle guruji ne kaha ki “Finals.. kaam.. work is worship.. khatam !” Aneek beta, agar yeh baat tere samajh mein aaya to please follow it.
Raja’s “Jhanak jhanak tori baaje paayaliya” was another very impressive performance. Bahut achcha laga. E,M,O,F !! There was some talk of dheela sur. Maine nahi kaha.. guest-guruji ne kaha.
Ok, look .. .today’s show was exceptionally good. Some you want to hear again and again and some you clap, nod your head and move on. Raja’s was clap zor se, nod head vigorously and move on.
Amanat’s “Albela sajan” was ridiculously superb !
Now THATS what I call music !
I hope IsmailD really knows what he has on hand ! And takes care of the guy after this show.
If there is one contestant I have backed from day uno, its Amanat.

Poonam’s “Kuhu kuhu bole koyaliya” was another fantabulous performance ! Hey.. what the heck ! She should be in the top 3 ! The winner ! She is way WAY better than “most” people on stage today !
Poonam’s “ab tak ka safar” was extremely odd ! It looked WRONG ! All her performances were top notch ! It felt so wrong that she had to leave today.
Infact, lagta hai, today’s ranking to kisi ne reverse order mein stack karke Adi ko de diya !
Overall, the most awaited and least disappointing episode.
Looks like the chaar din ki chandni is over in an hour and half …. we are back to regular show tomorrow

In Ghazal Raja was not anyway near Amanat although I had never been Amanat’s fan . My candidate is eliminated”Mussarat”. But I would say this because no one, again no one, had been anywhere near the Ghazal Amanat sang. I saw the same expressions from Pdt.Jasraj and of course from jagjit sing sahab. No comparision what amanat sang Ghazal today and others. Poonam gave an outstanding performance and it was better than Raja and Aneek combined together. Long live Poonam.. wherever you go , you are in every heart. I think Final deserved to be in Yalgar Gharana Only..

Well in today’s videos, the first video seems to have trouble as the speed of this video has got decreased by chance and now the voice comes in a funny manner as battery of the player is low …like we used to suffer on cassette players

If Mussarat and Amanat are the musical gifts from pakistan then Poonam is such a unique musical gift to us as well. I just sit and listen to her songs . And don’t you take away the biggest gift you have i.e. Pandit jasraj himself. It’s a pity that I never heard him like this before. What a voice, what a voice. and Jagjit singh I grew up with his ghazals.. You got so much that you can send this way.. If pandit ji ever came this way, I will try everything so that he should not return .What an assets is Panditji.. He mermarized me what he sang on SRGMP.. Amazing…What a command.

Right observation, it was a smart move on HR’s part to pick an easy ghazal for Aneek. The acid test would have been Chupke Chupke—-.
He sang well but it was not “wow” for me. As Jagjit ji said to Aneek “for your age you have sung very well.. Your voice is immature, but as you grow, your voice will become mature.” I think one needs a mature voice for ghazal singing.

And then you have seen his verdict what he said.I don’t think that there was any doubt about what he said. What I do regret is exit of poonam.In my opinion if anyone can give a fight to Amanat is Poonam.. Have you seen her last song? She is tomorrow’s Lata. Other two boys are simply no match to her or Amanat that’s proven today. Panditji’s & Jagjit singh’s clear verdict is there.
Hr did selected easier Ghazal for Aneek but the counter strategy( to sing the more difficult one) worked just fine.
After Panditji’s verdict, there is no doubt as to who should be the best singer.

I just watched Poonam’s “kuhu kuhu bole koyaliya” for the fifth time. Her performance is out of this world. It sounds like a divine goddess singing herself. Sorry if I sound so emotional but that is the effect of her singing. Pandit ji should take her as a shishya. As he told her, she is born to sing shastriya sangeet.
She is at par with Amanat and they should have been in the finals.

ofcourse Pandit is a maestro, a legend cmon.. its sad u nvr heard him like this b4.. if u go back in history of SaReGaMa in Sonu’s days, he has performed lot of times.. n ther’s no need to call him gift as he is legend and he is ours..
And as for Poonam she is ours too.. she represents a middle-class girl of our country.. she is also class.. that is why i said Poonam shud have been in top 3 and not Raja…
And as for Amanat n Mussarat i still stand by what i said - they’re truly gifted, n perfect musical representatives of our neighboring country..

I missed Mussarat Abbas on this show. He would have sung some Ghulam Ali’s ghazal(his hero) and maybe some classical from NFAK and rocked the entire stage. He deserved to be in the finals. Zee & HR to be blamed for his unjustified exit. Raja was a clear misfit today.
But today, Amanat was the clear winner in both rounds. What a voice??? What command on Sur!!! For me Amanat has already won.

anyways, the most versatile voice is gone from the stage. someone said it correctly on the forum, it should have been an all Yalgaar final.
Raja and Aneek have still a lot to improve in their singing across all genres. So does Amanat, but he is a notch above on the remaining lot. Amanat has a damn good voice quality and good control on surs. He is almost effortless in classical. The ghazal he sang today is a fabulous example. Others were trying hard. Amanat was just being natural..no wonder Shekhar said that he felt as if he was in a concert.
Poonam being gone, now my vote is going to be for Amanat. He has the best voice amongst men and biggest potential to make it big! And he deserves it guys. Don’t get too sentimental on regional and boundaries now. Music has no boundaries. Just vote for the guy you think truly deserves the crown and your dollars on the CDs and albums in the coming future. Chances are, you would lock in the vote button for Amanat by such a thinking and reasoning.

p.s.: i don’t like to blow my own horn, but didnt i tell you guys that Aneek sounds like a kid and still has a lot of years to go!? i am so glad jagjit singh was brutely honest and spoke his mind and 2nd that opinion. besides, aneek’s low notes are hard to come by, though technically he is very good.
raja eats up words guys. somehow aneek and raja’s voice aren’t that soothing. for raja, especially gazals - does not work…qawaalis and sufi (high notes) would suit him, but not ghazals.
vote for amanat guys. he truly deserves it, but will have to work on his accent, but has what it takes to make it big across all generes. he would kick butt every time in classical renditions.

I really miss Mussarat on this episode. He should have been there to show some musical magic of Sufi Gharana to Punditji also. I humbly agree to Punditji that Amanat is the best among these contenders now. But all 4 of them are good and still beginners to the ocean of music.

Your prediction was so correct. The soberness that prevailed in yesterday’s episode, owing to the presence of two music maestros on the stage, was completely missing in today’s episode. The ghazal round was indeed like a “char din ki chandni”.
In today’s episode, the Bichhumiya (Judwaa brother of Beshrmiya), who had quietly crawled under a rock yesterday, came out once again to use his sting on the other gharanas and degrade their contestants.
Thank God, the other two mentors (I treat VD and SR as one) do not over react to this man, otherwise we would be viewing a vishwa yudh between the mentors, rather than the contestants.

aneek whenever he sings rafi songs, he sounds like a little kid, even tho technically he is perfect.( i said that even a few weeks ago when he sang another rafi song , i think in the black and white round). i think he will be a heckuva singer in 4-5 yrs

This episode was awesome. Everyone did a good job. I was sad to see Amanat in the 3rd spot cause he is the best of the remaining contestants and he proved it with his performance. I love Mussarat too offcourse but he is no longer in the competition I fully intend to support him by buying his music . And for all the posters who keep saying that Aneek works really hard I am sure he does but I THINK ALL THE OTHER SINGERS HAVE WORKED JUST AS HARD AS ANEEK!!!! Therefore, we should not be voting based on who has worked how hard but based on the following criteria:
1. Who has been consistently singing well across all genres?
2. Who has been picking songs that are harder and not just suitable to their voice?
3. Who performs well for the finals?
4. Who got the most praise from the esteemed maha gurs (Jagjit Singh & Pandit jee)
We should all vote for the singing quality rather that their national/regional affiliation. For me AMANAT IS THE BEST AND HE HAS PROVED IT TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

This is very first time that I See Saregamapa. I was not even aware of this before. I would like to listen to Panditji..He is legend for sure..
As far as my perception teaches me , Art and artists are universal.It will be too little for someone to put a claim on them. By that token panditji is a universal phenomenon. There is no point in confining him to one place only. His fame worldwide explains that art & artists are universal assets.
I have the same opinion for poonam though she is starting her journey towards a great future artist.
Personally I think, Poonam should have been in top 3 and if one reads my previous mails ,you will find me saying it over and over again. It’s rather more than that what I said about Poonam. In my opinion there was no need of even top three. Top two were more than justified after Mussarat’s elimination. Just Poonam and Amanat. Both are equally good so one should split best singer between them.
Everyone has a personal choice and I am glad you have one too. As far as the closest competition of aneek is concerned, I think Raja may look a better choice. There is no match between Amanat and Aneek. This is my personal opion.One may or maynot agree with that. As far as the Votes are concerned, I do not consider it a criteria for a singer to be good or bad.

I am proud to be born in such a country.
Today’s episode of SRGMP was once again the Yalgaar gharana show, with Amanat giving two rocking performances. His rendition of Mitwa really turned the OSO team speechless. He was fantabulous today. Raja’s performance was also very very good, specially the “Chal Chhaiya Chhaiya” song. Aneek performance was good but only second to Amanat and Raja’s.
BTW, the mega final of this year’s SRGMP is going to be televised on Saturday, 13.10.07. I sincerely wish Amanat to win this show, because after Musarrat’s elimination, I think he is the most eligible contestant.

Thank you for another nice mail from you. if you ask me thr truth ,I have not yet recovered from poonam’s Loss.I believe that she is very strong technically and she is the only one who can contest Amanat. There was nothing wrong declaring them a joint winner. There was no need to eliminate her.Personally I think she is technically stronger and original than two other contestant …If Musssarat were not eliminated, this program would be real competetive.

What a performence by Poonam. One wanted her to keep on singing. Life is so unfair.SRGMP lost another great singer in form of Poonam. However, she got great exposure and I hope the Industry will take notice of her and give her offers. If it doesn’t then it will be Industry’s loss. It will be nice if ID could become her mentor. This will be a deadly combination.
Amanat was terrific. He should be voted number one based on this episode.

I don’t think raja is the best at all because he doesn’t have proper sur to perform playback singing. He was just hyped by his attutudes. Amanat indeed is a good singer as well. What a episode.. I really like all the performances by all contestants. But the most I like are Amanat’s performances. He s no doubt number 1 singer as expressed by Jagjit Jee and Pandit Jasraj Jee. I dont care who will win this competition but I must say that no body can beat Amanat. Watchout all his performances. 100/100 in all of them.

What a truly awesome, awe-inspiring episode. I am just speechless. The presence of Pandit Jasraj & Jagjit singh was amazing enough in just so many ways, I can’t begin to describe.
1. And perhaps the most important. HR was remarkably subdued today!!!!!! True, he still was blabbering excessively, but not as much as he normally does. Of course, he did his usual Aneek-hyping, but in the presence of such esteemed judges I think Zee specifically told him to shut up (they porbably bribed him with topees).
2. The caliber of the performance was astounding. It was so mind-numbing to see some of the performances. Quick overview:
Raja was rather good; the first song was very well done, seeing that it was rather difficult, although when doing the alaap I think he went off-beat once or twice.
Poonam sang rather well, specifically the first song. I really thought the performance was well done.
Aneek did well also; although I agree entirely with Jagjit Singh Ji: Aneek’s voice quality is not suited for ghazals and songs such as this. True, he was completely on sur, but the tone that was lacking sort of degraded the performance a tad. Just a tad, though.
Amanat Ali…my GOD. I officially love his voice. He was totally the King of today’s performances. All those who didn’t think he was a good singer before…I’m sure that after today they are seriously reconsidering. His “Hungama Hai Kyun Barpa” was simply divine, and not only that it looked so effortless; you could see very little if any strain on his face as he sang the more difficult parts of the song.
And that wasn’t all! Even after such a top-notch performance, nobody thought that it could be topped, but he proved them wrong again! His “Albela” was magnificent. I felt like crying as I watched him, it was that good.
All in all, Amanat completely “owned” everyone else this episode. He truly deserves to be in the Finals because it is rare that such an individual comes along; excellent voice, very likable personality, very humble. He really needs to get some breaks in the future!

Everyone saw that how easy it is for Grandmaster of music like Pdt. Jasraj and king of Ghazal Janab Jagjit Singh Sahab not to even take another second to decide upon who is the best among three. They just said it right away regardless of public vote against Amanat(least votes). Where HR again tried to blend Aneeks performance or rather I should say to defuse it with Amanat. After Sept 28th performance there is no doubt in my mind ,just like Punditji and Janab Jagjit singh ji that Amanat is without dispute way ahead of other two. Aneek and Raja are very good singers and no one can say otherwise.However, other thing is comparision with Amanat, I don’t think there is any.
If anyone could ever give head to head to Amanat would be either Poonam or Mussarat. Others don’t even come in close range to them. That’s why Punditji took one second to declare who he thinks is No 1. and same followed by Jagjit Singhji.
It’s a pity that Poonam is eliminated by popular vote. If the verdict were in Masters like Panditji’s hands, she would still be on panel of three. Now one can see that how millions of people can be wrong against one Grandmaster. Can anyone from that public can come and challenge Punditji’s expertise? I doubt that.

The thing that is making me write is the elimination of Poonam! i am a pakistani but as it happened i wanted her in! some times boundaries dont mean any thing!today i believed yes music can bind! and after a very long time i cried yes a guy who lissens mostly english music just cried!made ma heart pure!i will pray for u in my every namaz may Allah take u the limits where u juss fly as a free lark singing the beautiful songs and make use of Allahs amanat endowed upon u!
Lastly Amanat u give me goose bumps!ur the ne that prompted me into this show ur Mitwa and then? u never stopped! today it was culmination of ur singing!the gurus said it! U R THE WINNER! Aneek needs riyaz as well raja! they are good but seem ordinary!as their tonal quality is good but its not different(raja has a difference but its unidirectional he will be good for sufi or high note songs)!may eb i am wrong but amanat has sung all!Raja sang ghazal song today and was up n down in notes!the real test of ur voice is ghazal!Aneek in my opinion is a little overated!his voice is cool but again its not unique! Public voting should have stopped at last 8!and gurus should have decied the fates!but!!!
I said to some one about amanat and he said what do u think,and i said iski awaz mien theraow ha,utar charhaow ha,base strong ha” he said and that guy is a ghazal music lover and ardent one said u nailed it!hes an indian and he said he hasnt got any match!any!!
now this aint any competition bw india pak!but the public sentiments will create some bias!but from now on i guesss gurus shud decide the fate of finalist not the votes!coz even 13 yr olf can message whoo has no knowledge of music!just becoz ones bengali one pakistani one rajhasthani shudnt count what shud is MUSIC!

Also, I agree with your comments on the contestants a 100%. Amanaat comes across as someone who has some background and riyaaz the other two are good but very ordinary. All in all they are all quite immature and have a very long way to go still. Panditji and Jagjitji have been too kind with their comments.
Looking at your post I got the feeling that you are associated with ICM either as a performer, academia or as a deep connoisseur ?

I already knew Amanat was going to sing much much better than Raja and Aneek. As Ghazals and Classical singing is like Amanat’s home ground. Right from the first performance, with Mitwa and following songs like Kadhi Aaa Mil Sawal Yaar Vey, Yeh Hosla, he was just unbelievable. I was so engrossed in his singing I heard him like over and over and over. Just amazing. Shekhar was so right when he said Ismail and Amanat combo is going to be an amazing pair. God cless you Amanat!
Poonam, you sang so well, you are truly gifted. You sang kuhoo kuhoo so easily, I absolutely loved it. I have downloaded all your songs and I like them all. I alsdo regularly watch your songs on youtube again and again. You are just awesome.

take a break!! there is good news about Mussarrat. I have talked to him today, courtsy Komal’s provided number. Mussarrat is doing live concerts in India these days and he will remain busy there for another month. He told that he has got tremendous response and its becoming difficult for him to manage the shows on offer.
Thats really wonderful and pleasing news for all his fans. Mussarrat will be coming to Canada & USA in November to do live concerts.

A very nice start with Pundit Jasraj ji followed by Jagjit Singh ji
Pata nahi kaun sa 1942 wala potli se zee walon ne Aneek ko chun ke song diya…mein ne to yeh gana kabhi bhi nahi suni. Dosto aaplogo ne keya is song ko kya sun chuke hain Bahut baar?( Bahut baar chodiye ek do baar?) Truly I have not. It was not a good choice for Aneek….becharaa maar khayega isi pe…He sung it well…but again he won’t get vote, hardly people know about this song other then Senty.
Amanat’s song was pretty popular and he sang it very well. Raja’s song was also popular but I liked Amanat’s performance better then Raja and Aneek in the first round.
Laga Chunri mein Daag was outstanding by Aneek, his sur taal was better,mujhe to boyish voice with sur and taal in right place jaayeda pasand hogi rather then matured voice with no breath control or hilta huwa sur taal. So my vote is for Aneek.
Amanat is tooo good his performances are outstanding, out of the world toooo. I would like to hear songs from Amanat and Aneek in the near future.( Logo aap bura mat maano…yeh meri khwaish hain…zaruri nahi ki aapka khwaish mere khawish se match Karen!) Usi tarah I don’t agree with many people here, I don’t agree any of the comments from Aneek hater group. I feel they are all crap. Mein to CTRL+ ALT+DEL marti hun maan mein….ya fir Ignore button dabati hun. Kiyo ki mujhe pata hin ki Aneek hater log chillate hain jayeda aur pate ki baat kam karte hain.
Not to forget Poonam sang well but she was out based on her last week performances, she was really weak last week. But overall she is a good singer, achche guru aur talim milegi to ek din India ki great singer banegi. I think uski koi formal musical training nehi hain fir bhi kamal kari hain … I wish her all the success in life bas she should not go to lucknow, she should be in Bombay…there is a saying out of sight. out of mind… kaal koi dursa singer aa jayegi and she will be forgotten…. She (needs/must get ) support and blessing of big people in the industry.
I am too happy about our culture which I am able to watch in every show …especially in this show, the contestants always touches the feet of guru ji. Amanat is also doing the same, I don’t know if they do it in Pakistan also. Raja Aneek and Poonam …I am not commenting on them as they being Indian they know the culture, but Amanat is from other country and I am so impressed by his decency.
The Guru’s are really really great… HR was praising for VS , VS praising for HR, sometime ID was doing that for HR and VS …I mean vice versa, which was good to see.
In the second episode OSO ka Aneek wala was not bad at all…he sang it well, peheli baar sun rahi thi lekin kaano ko aur dil ko bhi accha laga. HR ne ekdam sahi kahan ki VS ne Raja ko disco wala gaaana diya which is very catchy song aur Raja ne dhoya sabko, that is fine with me as they are Raja’s guru so naturally they will give him the most catchy one. Amanat wala gaana mere dil ko nahi choowa. Second round me Aneek ne sabko dho diya with variations and outstanding sur and taal(Satrangi re) .
On the whole I enjoyed it very much.

All THREE singers are so good.They have their own style of singing & voice. It is very hard to decide but we all know there would be only ONE winner. My vote will be
1. Aneek
2. Amanat
3. Raja
I would be ok if Amanat wins. I certainly would like to see a winner ( Aneek or Amanat).
Poonam was the symbol of will & wisdom. salam her. It is unfortunate to see her out.
I think Amanat won hands down both rounds. His Albela and Hangama Hai was far superior to others though I thought Poonam came very close in second round. Too bad, both of these singers won’t be a popular winner but they both have potential to go far.
basit, thanks for that Mussarat news, glad he’s doing great. I’d be only happy if he cut a CD of songs previously sung by NFAK and Sukhwinder, just as a starter.

If some one sings a MISHRA RAAGA or a portion of Malkauns, Shekhar Suman will understand what “THENGA?” moreover - He proves that he is a great duffer - by arguing with Mr Javed, If nothing, Mr. Javed has spent 1000 Hrs in the recording room and his ears are trained - also Saroj-ji, BUT FOR GOD SK WHAT IS SHEKHAR DOING THERE? I HAVE HRD HIM SINGING-LORD SAVE IF SOME ONE HAS TO LISTEN. PLEASE SONY stop insulting those talented contestants.
I feel the best idea would be the keyboard player – who can give marks for perfection no one can match his judgment- this would be much better than todays panel of judges of Ustadon ke ustad.
