Thanks for your comments and thoughts. I believe all of us will appreciate what you have written. I also came to know that Poonam will be on the North American tour with other contestants, courtesy Zee. This is a really good news. Through this competition she has become a well known face. Even bollywood people might have also taken note of ther talents, though none has repsonded as yet. Perhaps this could be the lull before the storm. Even Lataji and Ashaji didn’t become what they are overnight. It took them several years of struggle to attain their present status. I have already posted on other thread of our forum that there already are two sponsors willing to organize concerts for her. Plus we also have people like you and others on our forum, ever willing to espouse her cause. So, to sum up her future does not look all too bleak, there are several silver linings.

I think petition is not gona help her in anyway..what we can do is send emils direct to Zee..
But when we think from Zee’s point of view, they havent stated that there will be female winner..So I feel that we shoudn’t expect too much from Zee..Poonam has got some Tour contract from Zee..
What we can do is to help her in her future plans..May be we can set up Fund for Poonam’s album (If she ever wants)…We should be in touch with her and should help her in any means…
I haven’t spoken to her so I am not sure about her future plans..I think Rekha will enlight about her future plans..So lets see what we can do..

Buddy,i will be in Sandiego & Orange county for the next 6 days.As & when i am free i will look into the forum.But my dear friend,u keep on raising the voice for Poonam tilloct 13th.i am sending another email to Zee.Nothing like trying bcse that is in our hands!there is still a 1% chance of miracle in this case but i am ready to fight for that 1% bcse i do not want to disappear from this planet with the guilt feeling that i could have done something for Poonam’s award & i didn’t!

By now Poonam yadav has been declared as the best female singer on saregama 2007! I feel that her elimination was unjust! She should have been in the finals as she is the most versatile singer on saregama! Her singing is soulful & divine! She can sing melodious, classical, as well as masti) songs! According to many of us on this forum, she is the most powerful voice on saregama! Even pundit jasraj complemented her classical singing ability! But unfortunately she is the most underrated performer! None of the guru’s took a special note of her, except HR, who emphasized on her poor background & damaged her rather than appreciating her singing talent & helping her!In her elemination episode,she requested all mahaguru;s to help her in her singing career or help her find her a guru but no one came forward! i am totally disappointed by ID,VS & HR.
By just declaring her as the best female singer of saregama won’t help! We would like Zee to award her as the best female singer of saregama & award singing contracts along with some cash prize to her! Sincerely she deserves it! Many of us, her ardent fans r trying to raise some funds for her! Pls do something for Poonam & don’t let her go back to Lucknow into oblivion! Pls. support her stay in Bombay till she establishes herself as a playback singer in bollywood or help her to find a Guru to pursue great heights in classical singing. This is a sincere request from Poonam’s fan club!

Should we try to help her settle in Bombay. If you are in a position to ask her, please let us know her future plans. Also whether she is willing to settle in Bombay.

I am a VERY big movie buff, but can not sit through such type of movies.

When Pandit Jasraj ji told Poonam that she is born to sing shastriya sangeet, I hoped for a moment that he will welcome her as his shishya.
Imagine, Pandit ji and his shishya Poonam, perfect combination of Guru and Shishya. Guru ke baat pur, if Ismail ji can compose a song like “albela sajan” he can definately give a chance to Poonam knowingly that she will do full justice to it. As you say, she needs just one hit song and he can certainly do that much for her. Hopefully, our prayers will be heard by most gracious Lord Ganesha himself, and that also very soon.

Dude (Thanks for being one at this crucial Juncture ! ), I am not a regular blogger either, but I have been dropping my opinions on various occasions in different forums. Whether you agree or not, there is a genuine need for Good music blog in general ,sangeet, shastriya sangeet and all the prevalant JONARs( dude, way back when they used to write “genre”, am I too archaic ?) where you could share, argue/ and even fight without profanity. I read all the other blogs on this site and was totally appalled by the language and DICTION of most of the bloggers and hence I chose to stick to the few Tried and tested friends who actually understand music and whose arguments are based on faculty as opposed to emotions. I like to hear, listen and even confront, but only with the people who I can assume are perceptive enough to receive a point well and send a mind boggling “REASON”, “FACT” home, or something that I may not have considered. That is EXACTLY how I process information, well, they say garbage IN, garbage OUT ?

I am OK with being a “Neophyte” as far as Music is concerned, for I have total faith that one form of art that will never die ( as long as people can utter!) is Music, and by that I am particularly referencing to Our Brand of Music, Shastriya sangeet, Desi Jonars, bhajans, qawwali,keertan and Ofcourse Bollywood. My Guru once said, all those songs that you start singing at the drop of a hat are those which are based on SHUDH raagas and Thaaths !

The Point is …. You should create a Blog, and if you want you can invite people by invitation or maybe you can let it be open for as long as they maintain their sanctity ( well at least a healthy place to visit ! ) are you thinking about it ? still ?. Absolutely !!!, the other blog on this site was exactly like Bhendi bazar, it even sounded like the Pude-zala, pude-zala !

Dudette, I did read the Post by Basit and also heard the “WORD” from bhopal, , about mussarat’s show there, it was a huge sell out event and as DAINIK BHASKER reported, there were a gazillion gate crashers as well, but it was not just Him only, there were other contestants as well, who ? The newspaper fell short of reporting that. Also the process of inviting him is still on, with very little success, apparently there is no manager/agent to discuss details with yet, but the process is still in full swing, if the Information about his visit to canada and US is credible, we can definitely get to the bottom of this.
AS for poonam, what can one say ? She does need a “GURU” and somebody who can give her a break, being from the tinsel town, I know that You need one Hit, and the industry is at your feet, most of the filmmakers are extremely superstitious, they tend to stick to their fame “JODI” and their tried and tested Music Directors and singers, no film of Rakesh Roshan can begin with any other Letter but “K”, Obviously when you are investing a ton, you need divine help and the asheerwadh of every deity. But then again there are BREAKS for everybody, she needs to be PUT in one spot, I am quite DEFINITE she will be all over the place, but pathetic as it may sound, Nobody, Nobody has committed anything to Her as yet, she does not need charity, and even shows allover india, she needs one Hit in Bollywood, and she will deliver. she has a gift of her beautiful and Powerful voice, She needs Just ONE, only ONE chance, and she will MAKE IT ! The days of monopoly in Indian cinema are over, and never again a Sulakshna Pandit will go songless, bcoz of MONOPOLY. I hope that the so called MENTORS will come up with some sort of an OPENING for her, we in the meanwhile can only pray and wish her all the best! BTW , your passion for Poonam’s cause is Commendable !
