It is really a courageous step and bold move on Poonam’s part to adopt a child, considering her own conditions. She is truly a very brave and daring lady, and has proven class, she is a class apart. Besides being a truly versatile singer, she is also a human being of extremely high calibre, she is at at a level, which none of the other contestant can reach. To hell with HR, ID, Zee (manipulation). Best wishes to Poonam and her child. May the Almighty given them strength, and the child too inherit the same class, talent, courage, magnanimity, versatality, smile, humility, humanity, sanity, purity of soul, and our respect.
Aneek is the best on voter’s choice. Aneek is the good singer but Raja is like HR actor as well as singer. Don’t try to enforce your choice and don’t be emotional. Otherwise it will effect your family as well as your life. Choice may vary and try to accept it. Your choice is yours. But don’t try to other down writing like my sir says and etc.

i have seen that everybody is talking about aneek and raja.and best of all amanat is ignored.if you notice both aneek and raja are doing mistakes but nobody say nothing because all india is on thier behalf so no need to worry for them they will get too many votes.one of them will winner and other one runner up.and this is going to happen 200%.in all these posts you people are advertising aneek and raja and rest is done in the show.if this was the end then why everyone say saregamapa2007 universal.kahan gaya music lovers ka sacha pyar music k liyay.i think amanat must have quit because you people and whole india wants this.thanks all.
guys….it can be seen from the whole drama..that HR is afraid of amanat and raja. thats why he is forcing the topic of aneek too much..so that any how he remains in the competition. no doubt aneek is a good singer.he got voice quality like that of sonu nigam….but today people like to hear different…like sukhwinder, songs with electrifying quality in it….which raja got…so he is been supported at a high level.
amanat is a type of singer who can sing any song…..i can say he is the shankar mahadevan or shaan. because of this type of voice quality..people are supporting him as well. but if we observe…HR in every episode tries to praise aneek without any reason..so that people’s attention gets to him…thats why aneek is saved uptil now….overall….HR is afraid of RAJA most because of his FAN following..and may be he think raja is dangerous for aneek

You guys sound like Besharmiya. Stop !!– if he is good and you know it keep it to yourself, vote for him – whatever you want to do – do with your Ounik.
We have heard enough from Besharmiya of his Versatility , Mehnat, Love etc.
You do not have to do wah wah like Besharmiya. Everyone is watching the show and knows (choice) who is best.

Listen to Rajas performance on 22nd, in the Omkara song, In beginning he lost sur, and no one in the mentors, I mean, no one pointed that out. It was so so obvious. Even, Vishal/Shekhar stood and wistled at the end. I mean, this is too much, this is just favourism and Hypism.
Please please, just listen carefully.

Public votes in competition to a person with whom they have set a personal connection. Good performance is only one part of that equation. Other things, which also come into play, are looks, place of residence, sex, religion, honesty of that person. However, these competitions provide the exposure, which these people would never, would have received and receive training, which sharpens their skills. This is no different from polishing the diamond. Only one person will win competition and with that, some prize. This winner does not have to be one of the best singers because of the reason given above. Recent winner on Indian Idol is a good example. However, the real talent among this group will get work in the Entertainment Industry. Industry is there to make money and will only give work to people who are really good singers. Industry does not work on emotions. So far, very few of the winners at this competition have made big but good singers who did not win are doing much better. The biggest prize of these competitions is to make big in the Entertainment Industry.

Well, I will not sound very nice but one thing I have observed that 90% people living on sub-continent are thieves and “Chors”. I am so surprised that why it is so darn difficult for us to just be Honest? What they did with Poonam is very dishonest.

Btw, do you have any say in what kind of ads can appear on this page? Some of them remind me of girls who are like Himesh Reshammiya errr I mean Himesh Besharmiya. If you know what I mean. I am not able to read the posts with windows maximizes because of certain ads so I read them with windows only wide enough to display the post and not the side bars. I donno whether your problem is with Himesh or Aneek.
I think Aneek is a talented singer and at the same time feel what Himesh is doing is not right.
But I feel SRGMP is all about good singers and not the judges nor the drama they(read some)are creating to pull up the TRP. You all have full rights to criticize Aneek as a singer but should not judge him on what Himesh is doing to him.

1> After all what do we know about the conditions and majburiya’s which force people to do whatever they do. We do not understand but are quick to judge…

Even pulling off 60-70% of all the harkats (khatkas, murkis, zamzamas, taans and so on) the Maestro (Ghulam Ali) adorned the song with will stand him in good stead.

You are absolutely right. Ghulam Ali compositions/renditions are full of Alankar’s (or Harkat in Urdu). In fact for the same antara there will be at least 4-5 alankars….
Alankar’s are ok, I would be interested in seeing if he can bring in thevrav while he does it. Biggest problem I have seen with Aneek is thehrav and coming from W. Bengal the uccharan (talaffuz) and naad (Bangla bhashis give stress differently when pronouncing urdu/hindi words).

I have been following this site for quite some time but couldn’t write due to one reason or the other. I know its too late but still I wanna part of this forum and writing some thing I wanted to share.
I am NRP and live in calgary. I love music and have been watching SRGMP from the days Sonu was the host.
I am totally against the public voting system and 100% agree to a recent quote by Khayyam Saheb that the talent hunt for a quality singer can not be left to the public. Its the speciality area and only the trained people in music can do justice.
We can see the evidence from the success of early winners in this show such as Shreya Ghoshal, and Kunal who were judged by the expert people. While the public voting winners like Debojit or others in II have gone into oblivation. Same is happening in SVOI where the top singers like Toshi, Arshpreet, Peryani are voted out and average singers are still there in top 5. I think its all business in the name of music sponsered by telecom companies. The more sms & telephones, the more business will do these companies and eventually the TV Channels.
Its really sad and unfair to the contestents who are very good singers but going out on public votes.
If any one noted, the voting system is further ridiculous and nonsense with its format which allows as many votes as one can do!! Whats this crap? means a rich person can vote even 5000 times and a poor one may not even manage a single vote. As I said this all is crap and business oriented drama.
Many of friends on this forum have said enough on HR stupidities so I will not waste time on that. And despite my above comments, I would like to thank ZEE for introducing MUSSARAT ABBAS who was the diamond in the ring of SRGMP 2007. I never missed any episode of him and savoured every moment of his singing. What a class singer he is. Although he has been eliminated through public voting but down the line if any thing about this show will come into mind, it will be Mussarat Abbas…
Infact all the true music lovers and specially NFAK fans feel themselves lucky to enjoy and feel the music through Mussarat. And my gutt feeling says he will go places (inshallah). It has become my routine to listen and enjoy atleast 3 songs of Mussarat everyday including Sanware & Chal Chal.
I personnaly acknowledge the spot on comments of $0.02 (which are worthy of million dollars to me). Keep it up man you are doing great. Also Ghaffar was giving good shots before he disappointed with his latest one and in reply I totally agree with $0.02 comments.
I think the script of this show has already been defined and it seems they will make Aneek as winner. I wish Amanat was a winner from the 3 left but we all know it can not be for the obvious reasons.

I dont know what is happening, the show is loosing its identity to be true, the show was damaged due to two reasons one due to besharmiyaa(i am not offending to say so)and the other reason
genuinely, people are voting based on personal epathy rather than accepting the original talent

AMANAT is technically very strong in Shastari Music. He has been extensively trained to sing and perform on Classical, Semi-classical, fast, slow, lite, pop and hip-op music. He has a very good control of voice which he has successfully proven with great versitle quality by performing to all types of singing through out the SRGMP competition.

First of all I would like to thank you for paying attention to even my most inconsequential posts.
I cannot write much at the moment, as I am still in a trance (just finished watching/listening to the ghazal/semi-classical episode a couple of hours ago).
All were great! Amanat was special, in keeping with my hunch!! Poonam’s classical rendition was… well.. something else!!!
Aneek and Raja also succeeded in touching upon some inner strings.
Somewhere you wrote to me –
“See that’s the difference when you use a judge panel as opposed to SMS and the Judge panel on that year was crème de la crème”.
I am the most vociferous advocate of inviting/employing panel of judges comprising musical virtuosi. SMS has been the worst thing for the real music lovers in recent years.
And you also said somewhere -
“I should not be comparing but compared to current contestants he (Jasvinder Singh) was 1000′s of times better, way ahead….”
After watching/listening to today’s performances I hope you will modify your opinion. The current contestants have rarely been given songs of the level that used to be given to the contestants of Jasvinder Singh’s period.
After watching Himesh’s facial expressions throughout today’s show , I would stick my neck out to say, for all his excitabilities and idiosyncrasies, he is a nice and emotional person at heart.
Your each post has been a treat to read. Keep posting.

I think there would not have been a single person who wud not have cried with her. I just wish and pray that some big guns come forward to give her chance and establish her to benefit the music industry. Her voice reaches direct to heart and soul of the public, never realised such charasmatic effect of any voice. Hats off to Poonam. Poonam we are always with you and just waiting to hear u more on any platform.
