Review of 29th September Episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007
Yesterday was elimination episode and Poonam got eliminated.. The show has now got its 3 finalists namely – Amanat, Aneek and Raja.. Today is the performance round and we will get to hear these finalists perform and do their best..[ Finals venue - Andheri Complex - Mumbai at 13th October.. It will be shown Live..]
So, lets quickly begin with the updates:
Om Shanti Om Stars on the show
The show begins and clipping of Om Shanti Om is shown.. Then they show the stage where Vishal and Shekhar are singing the song Ajab si and then they sing oh haseena.. On the stage portrait of SRK and Deepika Padukone is kept.. Shreyas and Deepika enter the stage when they are performing.. All are enjoying.. ID is shown whistling for the song..
Aditya greets VS, shreyas, Deepika and invites Farah Khan on stage..
FK – We all love SRGMP, contestants and most importantly the judges and ofcourse Aditya.. Deepika has already been introduced by Himesh and she is a fabulous actress..
Himesh – Farah is here and she is the best director in the industry.. Shreyas is an outstanding actor.. Deepika is going to get all the awards and is to be the best actress in the industry.. SRK is already a King Khan and six pack..
Farah says, Himesh is number one in positive energy..
Aditya asks Farah to say something about the movie.. She says, the music is already a hit and is number 1 in charts.. SRK is there, so everyone will watch it.. Next is Deepika, and then Shreyas and 4th is VS.. They have done excellent job.. She also says, the audience will get one CD each..
First Round – Om Shant Om songs
In the first round, contestants will sing OSO songs and is selected by VS themselves..
Amaant Ali
First to perform is Amanat.. He sings Ajab Si (singer -KK)
Vishal – This song of KK will suite him and it will be different in his voice..
Shekhar says the costume is suiting for him and that its as if he has come straight away from the promo..
ID – Sing in such a way that VS must feel, they could have taken you for this song and Farah should say that you sing all songs for her next movie

Vishal – This is the first time audience will get to hear this composition and I am sure, he will do it well..
Himesh – this is the first time you will hear it and judge based on the voice of the singer..
Aneek – I am a big fan of SRK and meeting him was great and I always follow him and thats why I have worn his style of dress too..

Farah says superb and audience shout once more.. VS and ID come on stage.. Raja brings Shreyas and Deepika to stage.. They all sing together and have fun..
Farah – dancing is not allowed for me, but after listening to this song, me and my kid both were dancing.. She asks VS to have Raja’s version of song in the next CD.. she also adds that only sukhwinder can sing this song, but you proved it wrong.. Raja says, I spoke to Sukhwinder as VS made me speak to them.. She then says, he will be proud of you..
Himesh – Want can I say, you were outstanding and VS gave the most hit song to you and did partiality.. Tumne toh Aneek ki chutti kardi.. Vishal asks Himesh not to bring any such thing atleast in this round.. Let the competition and comparison be there in its place and lets enjoy music.. Himesh says, that is there, but whatever is truth has to be said here and its true that he was better than Aneek.. he asks Raja to accept this.. Shekhar says everyone sang well today.. Himesh asks everyone of his fans to vote for Raja.. Asks Raja, how much point he needs.. Raja says, I just want your blessings and prayers.. Himesh says that will be there, but how much you want.. Raja says 10.. Himesh – Heights of modesty – Raja.. Gives 10..
ID – When VS told me about this song, I told them that this will be a good hit.. And I ask all Amanat votes to also be given to Raja.. gives 10 and hugs him..
Shekhar asks all VS fans to vote for Amanat and Aneek
Farah says its this positive energy among the mentors that this show is such a big hit.. ID says, its these contestants who have made us turn from Shaitaan to this.. Its not that we are shaitaan.. but this +ve energy is coz of these contestants..
Second Round – Songs suggested by SRK..
All 3 contestants meet SRK.. He gives them a CD of OSO and wishes them luck and says all 3 of you are winners.. He says, compete among yourselves and there should not be any competition between you all as an artist is himself a winner.. You all three are great singers.. Asks all 3 contestants from where they are and whats their age.. To Amanat he says, his family also was there in Pakistan.. Amanat says he has visited that place and everyone in Pakistan loves him.. Wishes them luck for the future..
He gives a message for Aditya and says I know you from the time of Pardes and always call you as Off Beat singer.. You are doing a great job and making your parents proud.. He also wishes all the viewers luck
First to perform Amanat Ali
He then speaks to Amanat and says its good that he has come from Pakistan and I always feel that both countries are the same and there is no difference.. Its music and art that makes them together and I am happy that Hindustan janta has accepted you and is giving you votes.. He gives him Shaukat Amanat ali sahab’s song Mitwa..

FK – You sang much better than the original.. I have to agree with ID that though even I have judged certain competitions, we have not been able to find singers like these people..

Aneek meets SRK.. He gives him the song tu hi re from dil se.. He says there is a word called Uns and that means attraction.. You may not be knowing and when I wanted to know, I called up and asked the meaning..
Himesh – asks him you know na what happened? Amanat gave a fantastic performance and you should sing much better than him.. You have to sing like that for me.. Remember Ur parents, god.. Deepika lifts her hand and says her too..

VS, HR come on stage in the half way when he was singing and enjoy the performance..

Himesh – Tumne aaj dho daala sabko.. This show definitely deserves to be number 1 in TRP.. You sang so well.. Asks him for whom he sang for him or Deepika.. Aneek replies for both.. Himesh is very upset with this and says, from the beginning I have been your guru and in just one day, you changed yourself.. Tell that you sang only for me as I cannot share the love with any deepika.. Aneek says, no – I sang for both.. Deepika asks him to say that he sang for Himesh.. Himesh says he does not want any second hand treatment.. Atlast Aneek says I sang for Deepika.. Himesh is upset but says, I will still support you though you have left me..
FK – asks him who taught the variation as even Ar Rehman did not bring such variations.. It was outstanding.. Asks if he is married.. he says no.. She says, even Deepika is not married
DP – I am genuinely speechless..
ID – I brought full suitcase of marks, but its not sufficient.. Asks how much he needs? He says how much Amanat got? ID says 5000 then give me 10000.. he gives 10.. I wish all 3 of you become winners..

SRK meets Raja.. Shahrukh says, this song is very close to me and also feel like dancing whenever I hear.. This is a very good song and too many of them have worked upon this.. He says you also dance when you sing.. I will pray for you all …
He gives a message for all the mentors and says you all are doing a good job of searching the talent.. He thanks VS for giving music of OSO and says may it be successful.. To ID he says I have not met you after Devdas but always see you on TV smiling and getting serious with these contestants.. To Himesh he says you are number 1.. I havent yet watched your movie but I will definitely do it and I am sure, you have done a great job..
Raja sings Chaiyya Chaiyya from Dil se
All of them come on stage except Farah and dance.. All 3 contestants sing the same song together.. Himesh says Raja is number 1 and says its tough to decide for the audience as to whom to vote.. Aditya asks the mentors to decide who is the titan of the day.. Himesh asks Farah to decide this.. But she says its impossible.. They all have gone beyond marks and cannot choose one.. Himesh says its all because of music and VS have done excellent job with the music.. Farah says its not only music, but the singers have equally done a great job here…

Amanat Is One And Only Versatile Singer In Competition.
So Vote For Great Amanat
George, let me tell you why you get the lasting impression of Raja. Its because Raja got the opportunity to sing in the end. I have noticed, particularly in the last few episodes, that Amanat is not getting the chance as a final performance. The only one I can remember was “Koi Mil gaya” from where Amanat put his performance into the shoes of jet.
I believe finishing vice, Aneek is the best and technically and verstality vice Amanat is the best. Just start counting how many singers he have sung till date as compared to Aneek and specially Raja.
I don’t believe that Amanat can be a winner, particularly seeing that he got a narrow escape by just a few thousands votes last time. But he has already got a life time achievement from Pandit Jasraj (“Amanat’s voice is amanat from God”) and Jagjit Singh (“He is far above the level of this competition”).
And I believe that Aneek should win this, not Raja, because Raja can’t get out of Sukhwinder and Kailash Kher’s circle.

Today all 3 had sung well. Yesterday Aneek and Amanat were good. Raja’s sur was not perfect and judges has pointed it as well.
MY VOTE GOES TO ANEEK. Tu Hi Re is the toughest song in todays show and ANEEK HAS GIVEN A SUPERB PERFORMANCE. Perfect Sur always. You are a star Aneek…Keep it up!!! You will be #1 in the industy very soon. Most of the film stars and music directors already like you and you will be unbeatable. Just like you were so excited meeting Shahrush Khan, there will be many people who will be as excited as you to meet you one day!!!.
The entire first round (actually the whole show) was a grand gala OSO promo with all the glitz and blitz… singing-vinging was secondary.
If there was a Himesh Vs Farah takkar ever, the winner will be Farah
She comes up with some pretty quick witted comments compared to the high pitched random rants from u-no-hoo.
Deepika, our present super model ‘n future No1-in-6-months, looks like a cross between Esha Deol and Priyanka Chopra.
All OSO songs are new first timers for me… so it was a little exciting to sit through this round. And for that reason, I checked out the SONGS rather than the singers in this round.
Amanat’s song was very sweet. Its already being played on TV promos.
Aneek’s song was very ordinary. Again, not commenting on “Aneek’s” performance…. the song itself was boring. Melodious definitely, but it didnt stand out.
I think Aneek’s song got more attention from the gurus, guests etc coz it was a great way to get this song out to the public. Good time and place to Bold Italic Underline so the public checks out this “No.1″ song of the No.1 movie featuring the No.1 actor…
Aaj u-no-hoo ka janam sidhdh ho gaya… when his bachcha got to DANCE with the future-No.1-in-6-months !!! Woaaao !
Honestly, Aneek took almost 15 to 20 mins air time in this round… it was getting boring.
Raja’s song was great ! A “Cash” techno remix with a wee drop of Arabic flavor. And the song was Sukhwinder all the way. Very catchy.
LOL !! “Dard-e-disco” indeed !! Never had a dard-e-disco in my dil ! What ever that is !!
VS gave the most rocking song of OSO to apne gharane ke bachche ko. It was so obvious
Best song, catchy song, and the image of a shirtless Shahrukh to woo the drooling dudettes … perfect to net in the votes.
Aajkal iss show mein there is no rhyme or reason for an encore request.. har koi har kisi keliye once more bolta hai. I kinda wonder what is the criteria for Zee to follow through with a “once more” request ? Looks like these requests are also strategically hyped or shushed by the gurus.
OSO songs mein, Dard-e-disco will be no.1 song, followed by whatever Amanat sang. Aneek’s song was so-so.
Hmm..Looks like Farah is expecting “bachche” ?? Twins? Triplets?
Round 2 -
Amanat is the winner. He is beyond this stage and this show, yaar. His “Mitwa” was more E,M,O,F than Shafqat’s original.

Aneek’s Tu hi tu was too good. Untill GE ARMANIEX went on stage to reinforce that this show is No.1 TRP (arre, hum maante hai bhai…chodo na..!) and extend the TV time for Aneek .. a nice vote maango advertisement for Aneek. Unfortunately, this drama will work. Moreover, HR’s dialogs about Aneek, his love, Deepika, “cannot share with anybody else” etc sounded very weird. I mean *really* weird !
Raja was bad when singing “chaiyya chaiyya” sitting in front of Shahrukh. Nervous ? Chalo maaf kiya. Shahrukhji ke saamne hum bhi nervous ho jaate.
On stage, Raja was gasping for dear life. The problem with Raja is he unexpectedly lets go of the song and then catches it. Maybe someone with a more deep knowledge of sangeet can pinpoint this more eloquently in musical terms.
Overall, his acting jaise bichchoo kaat liya ho will surely get more votes. No doubt. But honestly, did anyone here dig his song ? You think he was better than the others? People in the zee audience screamed “once more” jus coz he went high pitch.. woh tho main bhi karti hoon yaar, when I yell at someone…..till today, no one’s told me once more for that
I actually liked Raja’s dard-e-disco better.
If one’s sarr has samajh of surr, one’d vote for Amanat. Hai na badi simpal si baat !
Desh, pranth, bhasha, dharam etc is beyond us.
Aside from the digs I’ve made at the performances here, I think all three are winners. (Wah kya baat kahi hai !)

Simple…its so damn simple people…Amanat needs to win this show..it is the right thing to do. Honestly, I see the competition between Aneek and Amaanat (im sure everyone will agree with me here). Aneek was outstanding today, however, Amanat was flawless…his Mitwa and Ajab Si were out of this world…truly a masterclass performance. I just hope the Indian public chooses the deserving singer…we already have Vineet who is Aneek part 1…and he is nowhere now. However, Amanat has great potential…look how many different singer’s songs he has sung…no one else has sung like him. I pray sincerely to God to let Amanat win this show and more importantly give me an amazing career. Also to the public to be sensible enough to vote for the most deserving candidate – that is Amanat. India, Pakistan aur poori duniya ki Amanat. Im Indian and I want Amanat to win…I don’t care about religion, culture, country, region he is from. All I care is that he is a divine singer with a stupendous voice. Hence, he deserves to win.

What a complete and breathtaking analysis. At least I agree 100%. HR started again what was left behind by Sumedha’s departure. The same cheap tactics to ask for vote this time with implying Deepika. Same old cheap stuff. Just do it by hook or Crook.Having more time on Stage and keep camera focusing and uttering pure bullshit that even gives me headache now like “mindblowing” out of the world”… etc… He has repeated it so many times for less than ordinary performances of his own Student that it looks like he has already lost a substantial part of his brain.
Raja had really difficulty with Chayyan Chayyan.. His surs on many places looked quite odd and it really lacked real melody of that song.
Mitwa was better than original even.. I agree.. That’s definately not mind blowing to HR because that put his Chela in a very bad situation..

Neeti – you consider Raja singing Sukhwinder songs as versitality?
Try putting Raja or even Aneek to sing songs of other singers and also run the song video in the background and see if it even is worth hearing.
Amanat is the only candidate to win at this point of time and I hope the audience does not let him down as they did this time. I want Amanat to win because he already is a winner in terms of versitality.

I think after Pandit Jasraj Ji’s & King of Ghazal Jagjit singh Ji’s clear verdict ,completely removed all doubts about who is that unique & REAL diamond whom they recognized as The winner. regardless of more public votes in others favor. Who understand music more than Maha Gurus?

The contest is now clearly between Amanat and Aneek. I dunno why Raja went berserk trying to break down the floor, going breathless and speechless. He messed up the second song bigtime. Amanat and Aneek were superb! MY vote will be for Aneek for being more consistent over the contest, his rap numbers and the ability to improvise.
arup is right on the money. the issue with aneek i find is that that he still sounds like a kid and he is weak on low notes.
i also like your test match vs. one day comparison. see, all great one days players would like to excel in test matches, if they want to be considered as great cricketers. hence, i can see and imagine sonu singing khayal, tarana, thumri and try to do some justice. however, i am having tough time seeing aneek do such test match flavours. it could be time and age factor as well. sonu, obvisouly has had quite some years of experience. however, its easy for dravid to adapt to one day conditions, but not the other way around!
you have to agree on that. a one day expertise might be sufficient to weather 50 0ver match.. but sustaining wrath of bowlers for 5 days requires ‘gurda’ and talent of a different level. when it comes to talent such as these, we want “purists” forms, not diluted versions and should encourage the same.
my vote is for amanat. he will be able to adapt to one days! but i doubt if aneek shall be able to play even one day of test cricket of music!
in my format of this show, i would have packed 6 weeks of classical, 2 weeks semi classical, followed by 2-3 weeks of filmy crap. it would have brought dhoodh ka dhoodh and paani ka paani, right within 3-4 weeks.
Especially this time around given contestants profiles, imagine Thumri renditions between Lucknow and Punjabi gharanas! Maaan! Raja would have been long gone. Poonam would have been able to represent Lucknow, the rightful way and so would have Amanat and Musarrat in Punjabi gharana.

p.s: raja is over hyped. agreed. he should not be standing where he is.. he still has a lot to learn and improve. i would not say that age is not with him..
but, he indeed he is over hyped. raja eats up words. his control on breath is horrible, low notes are just not there and voice tone is good for high notes only, that even if he can pull off nicely.

take a break!! there is good news about Mussarrat. I have talked to him today, courtsy Komal’s provided number. Mussarrat is doing live concerts in India these days and he will remain busy there for another month. He told that he has got tremendous response and its becoming difficult for him to manage the shows on offer.

He got great comments from the mentors,, than it cums to Farah Khan, she was amazed by his singing,,, and even give him an offer,,,,Deepika says he was close to the orignal, and gives the same comment the second time he sings �Mitwa� which was sung soooooooooooooooooooo gooood that it was better than the orignal one,,, he rocked in this song,,,, amazing man,,,, true singing,,,
Annek gets to perform 2nd,,,,, he sang it vey well,, got goood comments,, deepika was praising him a lil more than wat he deserved, but well he’s her fav,, so wat can we do,,,( he was good but believ me aint better than Amant)
Raja sings darde dil disco sumthing like this,, he sang it very well, as it was the type of song he usually sings, so it helped him quite well, got goood comments from the mentors and the judges as welll,,,,and even got an offer as well,,,, he’s better than Aneek i think,,,
All three were goood in this episod but but,,, Amant was a lil better ,, he was a lil quite don’t u guys think,,, he didn’t got much support but ur 222 gooood,,,:),,,,Just believ in urself, GOD and ur singing, forsure u’ll doo very well in cumin up episod as u always have…..

These last 2 shows have shown that these are all (including of course Poonam & Musarrat) exceptional singers. To me, the last 2 shows also have shown that Amanat is head and shoulders above Raja & Aneek technique-wise. He also is a great performer, is not awkward like Raja on stage (especially when Raja is trying to dance), and is not trying too hard to impress , like Aneek is most of the time. Amanat seems confident of himself and is lost in the music while he performs. To me, he is a winner among winners. And to think that he is only 19 and has a lifetime of learning ahead – this diamond can only get more and more brilliant.
They are all very good. I still wish Musarrat was here and Poonam was still around. A dream final would have been with Amanat, Musarrat & Poonam.
Saregamapa redeemed itself with the Ghazal special, especially. I wish they would discourage the judges from using the competition as a blatant promotional vehicle. Ismail Durbar comes across as a saint in all this…

u cannot say Raja and Mussarrat like singers versatile, but they are really great at their own styles.
but I must say, Amanat created a great mark of versatality, he is great and should be the winner
RAJA Rules,,say watever but i think he’s theeeeeeeeeeeeeee best.onik is ordinary and there’s nothing gr8 about amanat also. infact amanat stopped in between while singing “MITWA”, as he was out of breath and this is not a sign of a good singer. so raja deserves to win thats it. all the best raja.
thanks divya vyas for your one sided comment.i think you dont have any true taste of music.you only like Mr raja not because of his music.raja cant compete with anik and amanat.he should leave the stage for both anik and amanat.instead of raja junaid would have competed better.
amanat was superb outstanding mind blowing.he deserve to win and he has already won saregamapa.final is just a routine show.i am 100% sure that amanat will be last in the competetion because akhir hai to apna pakistani na.votes of india will be always with raja and anik so amanat inspite of his superb performance cant compete with anik and raja in terms of votes.
