I have been browsing through this forum from quite sometime, but am putting up something for the first time. I wouldn’t want to comment on the talents of the contestant’s coz all of them seem to be good in their own way and am no expert in music except that I enjoy it.

However, I can pass a remark or two on the general behavior of the people in SRGMP since it is on exhibition for all to see. Especially the judges. I think this is more of a competition between the judges and not the contestants. How else can one explain the hippo Bappi giving 9 to Poonam for her “Mehandi” song inspite of his statement that he had not heard that song before and then goes ‘da dad a..’…. wasn’t it one last desperate attempt to save Sumedha and save himself?

Well, what can I say about Him-ass … all that needs to be said is already discussed. I think we should send an appeal to his wife to let him talk more at his house so that we are saved from all his bak baks on the show. He asks Janata to vote for Aneek so that he can continue to stay on the show. I wonder who wants him to stay on? HE seems to think all the people watching SRGMP are his fans and who are these audiences who clap very time he opens his mouth? He has become a virus…. U switch on radio, he is there, go to movies, He is there and u sit at home and switch on TV and he still is there… someone save me from him!!!! Every time I see his face I feel like pulling my hair apart…

I can also understand why HR is so very against versatility. The reason is HR himself is not versatile. Imagine him singing from his mouth for a change! I personally believe any singer with enough practice can practically sing all songs except that the voice may not match the song.

I am also suspicious about HR and ID whispering sweet nothings in each others ears. I think VS has to be seated between them. Well, VS are the only respectable judges on the show.

The only time I really enjoyed the show was when Salman Khan was on the show. HR for a change was quieter (not fully quite) and all the participants rocked.

I started out as a fan of Aneek, enjoyed a couple of songs. His ‘Bulla Ki jana’ was brilliant. But somewhere in between I was distracted by all his jumping jack antics and monkey behavior, love story stuff, his ‘kya who milegi’ dialogue and his shameless barking mentor. I have lost all my admiration and respect for that guy. I will not say he is a bad singer… but I will not vote for him.

I have also very much enjoyed raja’s songs. His ‘maa tuje salam’, ‘teri diwani’ and couple of other songs have mesmerized me. The only bad performance was ‘pardesi’ song and nothing else. I also loved his ‘yeh jawani’ last Saturday… don’t know why HR and ID agreed to pull him down. Even though VS said that the performance was good, HR went on and on shamelessly. Well, who else can have the last word when HR is around? I was also annoyed when HR said on Saturday that Raja gets sympathy votes. Really how low can HR stoop? Raja never had a story to support him and his mentors are the most unbiased ones.

Poonam had my admiration from quite some time back. Not because of her family video or anything. I was bowled over by her ‘vande mataram’ song and have been keeping a track of her performances and find it quite good. It’s sad that she never receives the recognition she should be receiving. Is it the lack of glamour? Or attitude? I have seen HR and ID harass her with the poor mother and dead father story. Have u seen the discomfort on the girl’s face? Who on earth would like to be reminded about fathers death anyway? Now they have turned around saying Poonam gets sympathy votes…. I also wonder why she hasn’t received offers to do playback singing as yet… she is much more talented than Sumedha or Mouli. My votes for her always inspite of her bad throat.

Well, Amanat truly has my admiration; He stood his stand in the love story and continued to deny it all. Moreover his performances have been good too. I miss Harpreet and Junaid too. Will look out for them.

In the end I think the final competition will be between one Indian and Amant. They will make it a huge India – pakisthan competition. Who will win? Zee of course! With all the TRP, adds and votes they will end up with all bucks. Losers? Will be u and me of course! Wasting all the money on votes, risking sanity by continuously watching the HR and breaking our hearts when our candidate does not win.

All the 4 seems to be good. For Vishal Shekar’s sake I wish Raja Wins. For Him-ass’s sake I wish Aneek Loses.

To make the show better, here are some tips to Zee TV….
1. Please put fevicol on HR’s chair so that he will not jump to the stage every now and then.
2. Also give him a mike that does not work
3. Change seating arrangement and make vishal sit between ismail and Himesh

There are so many Aneek haters here in this site! But its OK. You have every right to support your favourite and criticize others. But when, in doing so, you go overboard, it exposes your true colors and the education level that you have so painfully acquired!

No I am not a bengali though I can read and speak bengali.
What I have hear from watching SRGMP Bangla, music gurus like Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pt. Ajay Chakraborty and others were all praise for Aneek, especially for his control of pitch, throw and knowledge of sur. I don’t know anything about music but I will always belive these legends than many of those Aneek haters whose knowledge of music I am unware of.
Secondly, I find that he usually gets the highest marks most of the times from the mentors. All of them cannot be wrong!

Personally, I love every single one of them including, Musarat, Sikander, Sumana and Nirupoma!
So a humble request! Support and vote for whomever you like but don’t go overboard in expressing your feelings!
Everyone is trying their best.

It’s a pity while Mussarat was appreciated by everybody, Sumedha went out without any apparent acknowledgment (in this forum).

She has always been degraded and dismissed with “only a pretty face with sweetish voice”– like stuff.

This forum appears to have overly politically-correct (fake) people who have to pretend that they do not like someone for their looks.

Her pretty looks actually went against her.

Yes, one must not have favourites going by their looks, at the same time one must not jump to conclusions that someone with “pretty face” and sweet voice has to be a shallow singer. It’s inverted correctness.

BTW not being a fashion victim, I rate ‘Sajana re’ as my favourite among Mussarat renditions.

The one word which one can say about him in all the remaining 4 is “versatile”. He had sung classical, disco, qawwali, sad, romantic, punjabi and lot of other stuff and that too equally well. His tone is unique and he does not ape any particular singer nor can he be stereotyped into one.

For the rest 3 I am tired of hearing them again and again in the same tone and aping the ones they have been doing so far:

Poonam – she does good even if aping jaspindar narula and sometimes asha bhosle but only has future prospects in sad songs. She will be out in the next episode because this week it was not up to the level

Raja – aping sukhwinder all the time but and his voice is not very contemporary.

Aneek – aping Sonu Nigam and his breathing into the mike which makes me sick!

AMANAT ALI – you rock dude!

You are a clear winner by all margins and huge ones. You are a perfect candidate to make it big by going solo with an album or doing playback. Your voice will definitely suit the current breed of actors and will definitely become the star singer.

What happened with Debojit, Vineet wont happen to you because those too aped and you don’t!

Keep rocking! I sincerely hope you don’t get out of the show due to the lack of the sense by the fickle audience.

Though I lost my interest in this show, the day Musarrat was eliminated, but I must admit that I am watching this show only to see which Guru/Gharana wins this Sangeet ka Pratham Vishwa Yudh. Yes, this show seems more of a “Yudh” between the Gurus, rather than the contestants. In fact, the contestants appears to be very friendly with each other, and are moved at the elimination of one of them every week. But the way the Gurus (specially HR) utter discouraging words for the contestants of other gharanas, is enough proof of the diminishing standard of the today’s world.

I think, India is the country where we say these lines every year on Teachers day :

“Guruwar Brahma, Guruwar Vishnu,
Guruwar Devo Maheshwara;
Guruwar sakshat Parbrahma,
tasmaya Shri Guruve Namah.”

The Guru, who speaks a lot of SARASWATI MAA and other such words just to impress public, does not knows himself what a Guru is like. At least, he can keep mum, if don’t know, what to speak and when to speak.
