  So, if there is some non-musical reasons, it must be else, which I hate to accept.

  I also spoke for Mauli when she was subjected to similar kind of filth (involving her personally with Bappi Lahiri) in this forum and was soon overwhelmed by the power of blind hatred.

  Before being self-righteously judgmental about others and pretending concern for women’s dignity etc., we need to look at ourselves first and introspect, if we claim we are true music lovers.

  PS: I am bracing myself for another surge of intolerance and bigotry.

  the thing is that raja did not sing that well last time and was at the bottom of the list. i think folks just did not want him to drop out so soon. hence, he pulled in the most amount of votes this time around. see, he can only sing high pitched songs only. his tonal quality and laykari just does not suit masti and fun songs. he and mussarat just dont have it. they start sounding sadak chap singers for such notes! nothing wrong with it.. its just not their type and strength. hence, sufiana and high pitch notes suits them better. amanat sings OK, but does not have the clarity in the words and feels at times that he trying too hard. if scale is any input, he gets 3.5/5. aneek is technically the best of the lot. however, his voice is still kiddish and would not suit all kinds of playback songs. so who is left.. lets see.

  poonam - yes…need i say more guys? she has been phenomenal since last 5 months. just rewind the shows and check it out. be it simple song or tough one. she has been the better of the lot in all kinds of songs, including high notes.

  this time round though, raja did a good job. however, poonam was the best of the lot. not sure as to why was she in the bottom two to begin with!? she has my vote..and should have yours as well. you know it! just do it!

  take it or leave it, these contestents are still better than what you have on indian idol or voice of india.

  only if zee was a bit more consistent in the judging the fellows. too many favourtisms by the mundane judges, who themselves cant sing the song to the quality these guys put out! shameful! especially, the khajoor fellow!

  music is no place to be expressing fake jingoistic patriotism…agar itna hi pyaar hai desh se , to jaaker desh ke gareeb or pichde hue logon ke liye kaam karo..

  1) The majority of viewers and voters for shows like SRGMP are women, therefore why men seem to make it to the top. I don’t think it has anything to do with the ‘Gay Agenda.

  2) Sanjaya on American Idol was horrible, could not sing, and most likely gay, so good that he had your support.

  3) Sumedha was not a good singer, either Junaid or Harpreet would have been better choices for the final 5.

  4) Poonam is the best singer left on the show wether you want to admit it or not. She has been consistenty singing the best but sometimes gets lost in the Personalities of Mauli, Raja, Aneek and Bandariya. So please vote for her before a talent like hers is lost.

  as you go though the tracks, its indeed poonam who stands out from the bunch. however, few tracks from amanat sound very good as well. check it out yourself. doodh ka dhoodh, paani ka paani. very obvious. trust me, audio only makes a huge difference while comparing and listening the tracks.

  Raja’s Rab da jogi was good. Really good. But just one point mujhe theek nahi laga.. the music was more overpowering than Raja’s voice. Its different to hear this song in Sukhwinder’s voice.. SukW’s voice raises high above the background track. Today I didnt use headphones while watching the show. But even then I felt Raja ended the song weakly. If the brakground music was not so overpowering, this song would have sounded not so good. But I’ll give him credit for pulling off a great performance. Good job dude !

  Aneek picked ‘Om shanti om’. Its kinda tough to pull off that big a song. Rishi Kapoor ROCKED in that song in Karz and added the required visual appeal to it. And Aneek’s attempt to try this Kishoreda piece minus the visual bit was very brave. I agree with the judges that he was not upto mark. But I felt he was great in the lo/hi notes department that is a vital part of this song. Towards the end I thought Aneek was struggling a bit to hold sur.

  The “Manzil” CD release was really great for these guys. I was hoping Zee will get *all* the 10 contestants on stage for the release of the CD. The other 5 voted off previously could have used the advertisement too.

  BTW, does Indian Idol or SVOI give this many opportunities to the contestants? In that sense I think SRGMP is great ! Almost all in the top 8 or 10 have made it to CD covers.

  Amanat’s “ek hasina thi” was great as always.
  To my dusht & bhrasht budhdhi Himesh’s “superb, mindblowing” comments to Amanat sounded like an investment towards his own remix/remake of the same film. He has already started advertising the film

  But honestly, if there is one thing I like about Himesh, its his ability to laugh at himself along with the rest of us !

  Sumedha gave another be-naak performance. Very good. What was more ridiculous than Sumedha’s outfit was the blue & gold lady in the audience enacting the song (LOL). Looked like a Sumi near & dear.

  The way things are right now, Poonam will easily win this season hands down.
  Basumatika, you better start planning the party, my dear. Your Poonam was DA BEST today.

  Did the “petition” vote out Sumedha ? You kidding me?? Do we have THAT kind of power ?? Wow .. dont tell me ! I might even believe it !

  Someone said in an earlier post, that Sumedha should have gone out before Harpreet. And I agree completely. Infact she should have gone out before Junaid in my opinion. My one complaint against Sumedha is her nasal tone which she got rid of the past several weeks. Good. Another is that she picked easy songs most of the time. Moot point, since everyone is singing only easy songs now. But having said that, her voice is exillint. Sweet and fresh and all thats been said already.

  So a humble request! Support and vote for whomever you like but don’t go overboard in expressing your feelings!

  The only time I really enjoyed the show was when Salman Khan was on the show. HR for a change was quieter (not fully quite) and all the participants rocked.

  I started out as a fan of Aneek, enjoyed a couple of songs. His ‘Bulla Ki jana’ was brilliant. But somewhere in between I was distracted by all his jumping jack antics and monkey behavior, love story stuff, his ‘kya who milegi’ dialogue and his shameless barking mentor. I have lost all my admiration and respect for that guy. I will not say he is a bad singer… but I will not vote for him.

  I have also very much enjoyed raja’s songs. His ‘maa tuje salam’, ‘teri diwani’ and couple of other songs have mesmerized me. The only bad performance was ‘pardesi’ song and nothing else. I also loved his ‘yeh jawani’ last Saturday… don’t know why HR and ID agreed to pull him down. Even though VS said that the performance was good, HR went on and on shamelessly. Well, who else can have the last word when HR is around? I was also annoyed when HR said on Saturday that Raja gets sympathy votes. Really how low can HR stoop? Raja never had a story to support him and his mentors are the most unbiased ones.

  Poonam had my admiration from quite some time back. Not because of her family video or anything. I was bowled over by her ‘vande mataram’ song and have been keeping a track of her performances and find it quite good. It’s sad that she never receives the recognition she should be receiving. Is it the lack of glamour? Or attitude? I have seen HR and ID harass her with the poor mother and dead father story. Have u seen the discomfort on the girl’s face? Who on earth would like to be reminded about fathers death anyway? Now they have turned around saying Poonam gets sympathy votes…. I also wonder why she hasn’t received offers to do playback singing as yet… she is much more talented than Sumedha or Mouli. My votes for her always inspite of her bad throat.

  Well, Amanat truly has my admiration; He stood his stand in the love story and continued to deny it all. Moreover his performances have been good too. I miss Harpreet and Junaid too. Will look out for them.

  In the end I think the final competition will be between one Indian and Amant. They will make it a huge India – pakisthan competition. Who will win? Zee of course! With all the TRP, adds and votes they will end up with all bucks. Losers? Will be u and me of course! Wasting all the money on votes, risking sanity by continuously watching the HR and breaking our hearts when our candidate does not win.

  All the 4 seems to be good. For Vishal Shekar’s sake I wish Raja Wins. For Him-ass’s sake I wish Aneek Loses.

  To make the show better, here are some tips to Zee TV….
  1. Please put fevicol on HR’s chair so that he will not jump to the stage every now and then.
  2. Also give him a mike that does not work
