I am happy that some one did agree with me that Mussarat and Junaid are standing on their own, with no nick names or favorism from the judges. They got a different voice unline Aneek. Anyway, may the best person win, but i hope that person win with dignity without any favorism. An example is strong favorism for Mauli, when she could have got out if she didnt sing mayya mayya again on Himesh’s request.

Sorry All to shatter your dreams. But Mussarat will be the ultimate winner. His voice is great, he has strong classical background, he sings on higher notes and lower notes at will without distorting the song, his style, his genre is different. Moreover, on his day, noone comes close to his performance.

If you like Ghazals and classical, I am sure you have a better grasp of quality of music. I appreciate that as well. What is most required for a Ghazal for example is feelings.. you dont need to have a “sweeeeeeet” voice (Sumehda :-))
to sing Ghazals. Like Farida Khanum or Shobha Gurtu, they dont have “sweet” voices but my god.. what beautiful ghazals they have sung !!
One singer who has an excellent grasp of sur, taal, does the correct harkat is Amanat. I even loved his “mere watan” song ! (So what if it is a Pak song :-)) Amanat has never disappointed me in even one of his performances. Everyone else has slipped somewhere or the other. Amanat also stresses the right words in the right way with the right emotions. I just love that.
Many have commented that he lacks passion.. I never understood what that was about.
So, my choice for a complete singer is Amanat, Poonam, Aneek, Junaid. I like Musarrat as well. I hope he stays till the top 5.

Everyone liked Harpreet last time coz he used some emotional sentences and drama-baazi to influence ppl’s opinion. In my opinion, he is just an average singer(BUT 1000 times better than Mauli and Bappida). There are many singers like him in India.
I agree. Mussarat is a singer himself, and he never dissapoints me. Even though, his voice is a but shaky, it doesnt matter. Because the whole performance is just great. Amanat is also very good. And i like Junaid very well, he got such a sweet and uniqe voice. SO i hope top three is Junaid, Mussarat and Amanat. I hope Harpreet and Poonam reaches to the top five. This is my opinion =)

Madam Pallavi, please don’t think you are a very smart lady. Your comment about Aneek is totally stupid.
Lets say today we get someone like Lataji, should we just throw her away just because she has similar voice like Lataji.
First of all I don’t think Aneek sounds exactly like Sonu Nigam. He has his own voice and he can sing any type of song. Even though if he sound like Sonu Nigam, whats wrong with that? Director will take him because he will charge lot less then what Sonu Nigam charges.

You were being rude to Raja, Aneek, Amanat and their fans. You should learn to respect others first than you should expect it in return. Respect is not given but earned.

But yeah, i cant change what i think about Aneek. I think he is going in the same path as Vinit. And I just think that Raja is beeing to much hyped. I personally like Amanat, but he is beeing given a lot of attension and i dnt think this is fair towards other contestance like Mussarat, Junaid and Harpreet. I like Poonam aswell, but she i think she is also given a lot of attension bcos of her mom and yeah. But without any doubt, she is a great singer but just not my fav. And this is my opinion. At this point all singers have their unique qualities.. thats why they have survived so far. Including Mouli..
From now on, we have to eliminate these guys one by one. So we will shave to look at who is more unique and who do we want to listen to more. If we have a sonu-like voice, I would pay to listen to Sonu, why Sonu-like?? If the music producer is paying less to Aneek, thats his problem. We, public have to pay the same $$ for Sonu or Aneek right ???
Coming to the comments about Lataji.. there was Arati Mukherji, Suman Kalyanpur, even Anuradha poudwal who imitated Lataji.. didnt stay around much.. did they? Remember any of their songs ?? Other unique voices like Ashaji, Geeta Dutt stood on their own besides Lataji. Thats the point being made here.

In my opinion Poonam is taking over raja & i really love the way she sings with so much sincerity,passion & dedication!I loved her Vandemataram,it is better than the original!She is not using any X factors as she doesn’t need one,her singing has enough strenth!I loved Amanat’s eh watan!
The worst moment of last episode was when Shekhar appealed to gujju’s to vote for mauli & Bhappa Dohi (that’s what i call him)appealed to bengali’s! I hate this regionalism & it created a -ve feeling for Shekhar in my mind!i never liked bhappa Dohi,but his cheap publicity tactics have made me to wait for his departure from the show-with the wishfull thinking that both his Shakira & barbi Doll exit from the show asap!
i sincerely hope that they kick mauli this week & not scapegoat Junaid , Mussarrat or Harpreet!That will be the Black day of SRGMP 2007 season!

The week when Mouli was voted No.1, Junaid got most International votes, right ?? That means USA also voted largly for Junaid too.. right?

In a post above there was a fight about Harpreet. I think he is good.. better than Sumedha and Madam “M”. So at least for the next two rounds Harpreet can do better and try to blow our minds.
Amanat or Aneek will easily bajaofy Raja’s baja if they meet in the finals… based on quality of performance.
I think that a reason for Mauli having fans in india is beacuse she is from America, and that gives her a lot of attension. She is pretty aswell. And we all know that India is very affected by the west and so are todayz indian youth. They way Mauli sings (item songs) is western affected. I think this is a reason for Mauli beeing liked in India. I have a friend in india who never saw srgmp. He just saw one episode where Fardeen was invited. After the show he said: Mauli sings very well, and she is veryyyy pretty aswell. Im so gonna vote for her.
But we who dont live in India should judge correct, and plz vote for those singers who has showed consistensy!
in my opinion mauli is a pretty good singer and aneek is really really good he should not be kicked off at any cost. i also agree that some of the songs he is chosing are the ones vinit choose. mauli did not preform her best that day, but that does no mean she is horrible!! i think harpreet is a good singer too. and junaid. wat ever happens i hope that none of the good singers go. and i think aditya narayan is brilliant at everything he does!!!

Yes, everyone including Mouli is good. the good thing about Mouli is she sings with energy. But compared to the others, she is so-so. Thats why so much of hullaboo about others getting knocked off in lieu of her.
Since we are voting based on weekly performances, Mouli was verrry bad last week.
Next to go should be Mouli or Sumedha. Others are way ahead in the race, neck-to-neck.
The reason Mauli is being hated on is because the only reason she is still on the show is because of her first performance. People are sick of the judges trying to hype her as a great singer when for the last 2 months it has been clearly proven that she is below average. Any one who knows anything about singing knows that item songs are extremely easy to sing and take no talent whatsoever. Item songs are only used as a distracting method for the aam janta.
Maya Memsaab, Either you dont understand music or your comment was sarcasm !!!! If Mauli is a good singer, then how do u define a worst singer.
Mauli came this far only bcoz of favouritism by judges, remember how HR gave her a chance to sing a second song when he sensed the Mahagurus did’nt like her first song/performance. What was the result then, a well deserving & better singer was made a scapegoat to keep Mauli.
I dont understand why Aneek is being hyped so much!!! I dont think he has anything special to grab someone’s attention for a long time.
His style is not uncommon, nor has he sung any classical songs to show his depth and understanding of music.

Bappi will fall low to any depth to favor Aneek.
One cannot DEFINE a worst or best singer… anyone who appreciates music knows that.
A teenager appreciates Lindsey Lohan or Britney Spears.. the same music sounds harsh to a mature 30/40+ somebody who likes old hindi film songs…or bhajans.
Mouli’s “mast” must have attracted the college / highschool kids who have the most time and enthu to get involved in this voting game. Tell me which teenager will vote for the beautiful “Rasme-ulfat” sung by Amanat over Mouli’s “mast” ???
The teen population is driving this show in India.
I am not endorsing Mouli in any way…. Just making a point that this is the most believable reason why Mouli is winning despite low-grade performances. She sings more jazzy, in-vogue songs that the public can immediately identify with.

I think rudeness or not, one needs to be clear in one’s thinking.
Common Minimum Guidelines for thinking could be as follows -
1> The name of the show is SRGMP and by implication the show is an attempt to uncover a complete singer - good voice, good voice modulation and good technical skill sets. Does not and should not include dancing or personality or skin show.
2> If someone is getting hyped, its the gurus who do the hyping (except in Harpreet’s case who is coming across as a sympathy case(seeking sympathy) most times - Sick, Punjabi and Jalianwala bagh..). If guru’s do the hyping or Zee does it via Aditya we should not take it out on the contestant. We should still judge the contestants on their merits.
3> Specially for Pallavi: Sir/Madam, song selection could be influenced by the “guru” and in this case there is a continuity factor named Himesh R. Who was Vineet’s guru last time and is Aneek’s guru this time.
On the singers, Amanat good performer, good control of sur, pitch, good modulation and recently has put soul in his singing. For the person who asked - what is this soul? Emotion is the language of the language of the soul. If a song gets you into the frame of mind where you understand and are moved by the intent of the situation/lyrics then the person is injecting soul into the rendition. In Amanat’s case, he sings properly but with zero emotion’s most times. His singing sounds neat clean but without feeling. He has got opportunities to sing for two movies already and will improve with time.
As opposed to Raja, who sings good. Has a good voice is good with the high notes but not so good with the lower notes. He always tries to go to the higher notes at the start of the song and keeps it high throughout the performance to hide his weakness. But he injects a lot of emotion into his singing and therefore sings with soul. He touches a chord deep inside and makes you feel something because when he sings he tries to imagine that he is singing for the Almighty…
Aneek is a very good singer. For the cognoscenti, he is as close to the perfect package as possible in this show. Almost all the gurus know this and have acknowledged secretly that he is pretty good. He does have a different voice and is extremely versatile. He has been already selected by Asha Bhonsle to sing in her new album and is singing for Movies also. Ismail Darbar has always acknowledged that Aneek is the most dangerous performer and foremost contender for the winner position in SRGMP. Vishal was moved to tears this time by the performance and so was I. That’s soul for you. Shekhar, Bappi and Himesh have commented that he should be in a studio not in a contest.
For some of the other comments –voice quality is important and everyone has a different voice. If two singers sound like its because one of them is imitating the other. Early on Mukesh used to imitate Sehgal, Lata used to imitate Noorjehan…There are all kinds of voices and singers…
Poonam is in a different zone. Despite coming from a very handicapped background (something Zee has tried to use for additional TRP and additional votes via sms), she has always smiled when the topic has been raised and not tried to look miserable like Harpreet. She also must have put in night and day to sing the way she does…All her songs have been difficult. Songs like Mere Maula Karam ho Karam or Vande Mataram or Taare hai Bharati are extremely complex compositions.
My vote for Poonam, Raja or Aneek.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion on what turns them on but in Singing the foremost thing is technical skill and emotion/intent. Pls. do not lose sight of that and pls. do not judge people. Someone was shocked and distressed when Aneek was compared to Harpreet. I am in total sympathy with that person…
Junaid and Mussarat as severely constrained in their singing and I reserve further comments on them.
Sumedha and Mauli will soon be out of the competition…

Yeah, maybe he get influenced by Himesh Reshammiya, but then i think Himesh should realise that he cant make a new Vinit. Aneek should try different songs, and stop singing the same songs as Vinit. Aren’t you buttressing the point I made. If you see that particular episode in both instances you will see HR egging on Vinit/Aneek. In Aneek’s case he went to the stage to push Aneek into saying the magic words.
Finally, even if Aneek is such a person and has a shoddy character, I would still prefer to judge him on merit rather than superficialities.
Based on his talent and merit as a singer, he stands head and shoulders above the rest of the lot, except for Amanat and Raja.

A light song, beauty of this song lies in its simplicity and Raja did full justice with it.

Simply Enjoyable performance, gave a new life to this song, which was not heard so much before.

Excellent Performance, again made changes to the song and was so successful. All judges praised him and came with one comment that he sings every song by owing it.

He showed amazing voice modulation and judges truily appreciated him for that beautiful performance.

Splendid performance, an unmatched performance on that day.
Teri Deewani
Few People still feel that he made mistakes , but majority appreciated the way he modified the song and gave an absolutely stunning performance. Really spark of the show. This much energy was required for such a powerful composition and he delivered in such a style.

A True Legend- No Comments
Specially hear that phrase, when he starts ” Tere paas hi main aa raha hun..” A phrase filled with such real emotions. I personally don’t think that any voting Can match that performance.
For Sure he has already reached the Masses and people connect with him, whenever he start singing….
Wish to hear more great performance from him in future.

Leave judges, they are now doing the same for Amanat by crafting his love story, they are doing for poonam,so who cares for them.
I dissagree, Poonam has sang the most difficult and different type of songs. If she were a guy she would be hyped as the number one singer no question asked. Every song that she has sang has been superb.
Mauli is the best singer. She will win the competition in the end. Everyone will hate her now would be counted as BIG LOSER.

This entire SAREGAMAPA show is scripted and fixed from the beginning. The winners are picked b4 the show started. It doesn’t matter, who sings better. The winner would be the one that Zee producers like.
Watching SAREGAMAPA reminds me of watching WWE, where everything was scripted and FAKE. Plz dont waste ur time on debating, who will win. I bet the winner, would be the least favourite contestant(as it always happens in these kind of shows)

After this its difficult to predict.
Very interesting discussions going on here. Anyway let me come to the point. Okay, some people are talking about originality. What is originatily anyways? No one is original beacuse they all are singing the songs which are already sung by some other singers(e.g kailesh kher, asha bhosle, hariharan, sunidhi, sonu etc). So first of all there is no point of arguing if he/she is original or not. I read somewhere that Junaid’s voice is unique. I do not agree with that because at times he reminds me of Sonu Nigam ,which is perfectly ok with me, if he does justice to the song. In my opinion, a singer should be judged according to his/her voice quality, technic and rendition. It would not be fair if we judge them regarding their
originality/uniqueness. We should also not forget that even top singers like Kumar Sanu used to sing Kishore Kumar’s songs and Sonu rafi’s songs in their good old days.

So far all of them except Poonam has sighned some bollywood contracts.Why Not poonam? She is so verstile & has such a powerfull voice! Can anyone pls throw some light on this?

Originality is not about singing a “original” song.. this competition is not about that… Originality is about singinig the song in the style that is most suitable for the singer to showcase his/her talent.
In that regard, Sumedha is the least original of the whole lot.

This week we are going to see a real shocker from Saregamapa Challenger 2007 show.. All 3 Pakistani Challengers Amanat Ali, Mussarat Abbas and Junaid Shaikh are in bottom 3.
This result has created lots of controversies and arguments amongst all the mentors and even the director of the show. A huge fight is going on for 3 Pakistani Contestants for being in Trishanku.

i agree mauli didnt preform well last week & that she is not that brilliant. and i actually DO understand music!! i didnt say mauli is the best and that she will win! i think amanat, raja, and aneek will be in the top three. the preformance that she did on the tenth was very good too. she just did no preform her best on sunday! like i said wat ever happens i hope that none of the good singers go.

The Paki singers were always at the recieving end. Judges were always harsh on Pakis, no judge left a single stone untouched when it came to criticizing Paki singers for their mistakes. But for Indian singers, the same judges were lenient. I am an Indian but I could see the contrasting treatment being offered to Paki singers. All our Indian contestants are guilty of using political speech or emotional drama to influence judges and Indian masses.
This show is a farce, a money-making oppurtunity for Zee & nothing else. I would also like to tell the all Paki singers(Mussarat, Amanat, Junaid) to leave this show mid-way. They are already stars b4 ppl who care for good music.
This show is fixed. Zee will ultimately decide to crown either Raja, Aneek or Mauli as winners.
Thats it,,,, I am done with this show if any good contestant goes b4 Mauli.

I think judjes and public were a little more harsh on these 3 singers from the bigining.

But this is not an insult of those singers, this is an insult of India, Indian public and indian judges.

Good news. After reading the news of three pak singers in trishanku- there is some good news. It has been decided that on thename of Independence- no one will be eliminated this week. This decision was taken after heating arguements by mentors who thought it is unfair.
If this is true- which i think will be. I just want to say that though we Indians love our country- we also love music and justice. No other country would have taken this decision. and if anyone sitting there is partial to such an extent- this was such a good opportunity to eliminate pakistani singer as all the blame would have gone to faceless- janta.
I think this is the time- we all vote sensibly and eliminate the right candidate- which 80% will agree on Mauli. No one else deserves to go before her

At the end, I think it will be Aneek and Poonam at the top spot.
Aneek is truly the best male singer, his voice is simply mindblowing. He chooses the right songs and gives his 100% into all of his performances.
Poonam is the the best female singer, simply outstanding. She has delivered brilliant performances.
And now for Mauli, why isn’t she being voted out already. From all her horrible performances, today’s has been the WORST!!!!! After her performance, I felt that she deserved a 5, and no one no one gave it to her, but Himesh, thank to him for that. Mauli was the weakest, like always. Not was her sur out of place, her high notes were simply just screeching. Did anyone see Ismail squint.

Mauli needs to be voted out, and there is simply no reason that the judges should back her up, why are they giving excuses for her. You do not need to back up a horrible singer. There is no hope for her, she is just unbelievebly horrible.
Mauli needs to be voted out asap, and should be out by the next episodes, at least before the final top three.
