Review of 4th August Episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007
Today’s show begins with Mauli, Poonam and Sumedha singing Kambakth Ishq hain jo and the guys join them a little later on stage.. They also dance and sing together.. Then guys take the center stage and girls go on side and they all sing Love ke liye kuch bhi karega title song.. Then Raja and Junaid come on stage and perform few dance steps.. Then guys and girls join together and sing chalta jaaye ishq musafir.. As they all sing and dance, Aditya and Fardeen Khan enter from the stage below.. Some special effects are also shown..
Aditya says Fardeen Khan has a lot of attachment with the Saregamapa show as he was the one to give the winning crown to the winner in C2005.. Fardeen Khan nodes his head and gives a message for the contestants.. He says they are lucky to get such a huge platform.. They all are talented and the gurus are also supporting them.. As all being talented and also have such a huge platform, they will do very well..
Aditya says Fardeen’s new movie Darling is going to be released and the music release will be on this show today.. And this is the first time its happening on television show.. Regarding the movie Fardeen says this movie cannot be categorized as it has thrill, emotion, makes one cry and also laugh and also has great music.. Aditya also announces the music is given by Himesh in this film.. Himesh continues that he has only done one song and the rest is done by Pritham.. This is Gulshan Kumar’s movie and Ramu the director has done a great job.. Fardeen sahab is outstanding..
Today’s Theme - All are celebrating Friendship’s Day today and so all the contestants will sing song which their best friend has suggested..
First to perform Rock Gharana :
Before the performance, Aditya says Prashant chadda, the best friend of Himesh has a message for him and a clipping is shown.. He says Himesh is more than just a friend and he has given whatever I have asked for.. I asked for a music video, then a film and now i am asking him to get me married.. Ask him what he says for this request.. Himesh is too happy seeing the clipping and thanks for making his day with this message and says before getting him married, his sister Roopa is there and she is also my sister.. so, i have to first get her married and only then can get him married.. This nok jhok goes on between us, lets see this year who wins it..
A clipping of a message from his friend Arindam is shown.. He says you should get lot of name and fame.. He is a little kanjoos, but a great friend.. Wishes him Happy Friendship’s day and requests him to sing the title song of Saathiya..

Joy’s best friend is Anjan.. He comes on stage.. He says Joy is a good singer and that by now everyone knows.. He is also a good arranger and wanted to become music director and he can play more than 27 instruments.. He also adds that they both started their struggling together but Joy got a great platform.. Huggs him and wishes him Happy Friendship Day and also requests him to sing Roobaroo song from Rang de Basanti..

Bappida’s best friend is Subir Mukherjee and his uncle is Kishoreda. He says Bappida and he were very close friends and they used to even take Bheedi without telling their parents.. They both used to be very naughty at young age.. Bappida always used to go along with his parents wherever he goes and one day Kishoreda asked him to come all alone without his parents and they also did a movie together.. Bappida then says he and Subir did a movie together named Rock dancer and one rock star named samantha came from UK.. He was very naughty and just for fun we used to take bheedi
Performances:
Sumedha - Her friend’s name is Gatha.. She first gives message in clipping saying Sumedha is a very good friend of hers and even if she gets lot of fame and name,she will be her best friend and says if she forgets her, then she will never excuse her for it.. She then comes on stage and gives a gift for her from all her five friends.. She says they used to call Sumedha as cat and so giving her a gift which is a fur cat doll.. She requests Sumedha to sing Aao Na from Kyun ho gaya na..

Mauli Dave- Her friend’s name is Lopa and she is standing in front of a high school.. She says she is missing Mauli so much and that during a lunch break, she was telling some joke to her group of friends but Mauli did not much laugh for the joke and she herself became a joke but she says, she miss Mauli a lot.. He requests Mauli to sing Shakalaka Baby from Nayak..
After her performance, Bappida comes on stage and audience shout once more.. Aditya requests Fardeen to come on stage and dance for the song.. He goes on stage and she sings again the same song..

ID’s best friend is Sanjay Leela Bansali.. He says how he met ID and how they became friend.. He says he saw him first time during recording of Khamoshi.. He was the one to carry violin on his shoulders and kept on smiling at me.. he said first he thought he was some mad person and then next day Kunal gave a call and said if you are looking for a MD, i can send someone.. Next day, ID came standing on his door.. Sanjay was shocked and then the journey of their friendship started.. he says our friendship will never break and you are one of the valuable friend.. Whether we fight or have any misunderstanding, we will definitely be good friends..
ID says Sanjay, Main aida hoon, pagal hoon but you are a farishta for me and an angel sent by god.. Our friendship will stay forever.. We will fight even now, but friend we will be always..
Amanat is the first to sing and Vishal says - even before you sing, we will give you a 10. you were in trishanku yesterday and we dont want you to stay there next time..
Amanat’s friend is Suman.. They talk over phone and He requests him to sing Kabhi toh nazar milao title song..

ID says Dont mind Vishal’s comments.. Amanat says he can never take the comments in negative sense.. Himesh continues from there and asks Amanat who is his friend in India.. He says Mauli.. Himesh says, is there any girl friend for you? Amanat says neither in India nor in Pakistan.. Himesh then says he has got some rumour that he is having an affair with one of the participants and that participant has rejected one proposal and that proposal was given by Aneek.. and says to Bappida - “kahiin woh aapke gharane ki toh nahin” ID says he will take bharat to Bappida’s gharana.. Mauli is laughing at all this.. Amanat is confused.. Himesh asks him to take a promise that he does not have any affair.. Amanat starts doing that, but Himesh says to Aditya - go on with next performance and we will find who the girl is
Next to perform is Poonam - her friend’s name is Meetu.. She says Poonam is very sweet and caring friend.. She is very lucky to have her as a friend and all should get a friend like her.. She has also brought a gift for her and says this has all love from Lucknow… She requests Poonam to sing Mujhe rang de from Takshak

ID - asks Aditya, She is from my gharana - wouldnt you ask for once more?? He then says once more and drags Fardeen to stage for dancing..
Fardeen - You were the best singer tonight..
HR - Marks is 10.. Asks her to smile and says you should keep smiling always..
VS - Excellent performance.. gives 10.. Poonam says she is so happy as they have given her 10.. Shekhar says she deserves it..

ID says she must concentrate only on singing and not on anything else
Next to perform Hit Squad:
Shekhar’s best friend is Sujoy Ghosh and they did many movies like Jhankaar Beats together.. Sujoy says Shekhar is a very good friend of his and that there was a movie called Brand Beauty where he had done acting also.. they met first in the movie called Kabristan and all Kabra were there near them when they first met.. He had to fall down and faint seeing a girl.. And that is one of the most memorable moment that he had with him.. Also adds that he is very sensible and easy going.. Shekhar laughs hard and says I will deal with him later.. Asks Aditya how they caught him.. Aditya says its all research team work..
Vishal’s best friend name is Shiraz.. He says during a show of Pentagram the last performance was going on and a spot light was following Vishal but suddenly Vishal disappeared.. Then they found that he fell down from a six feet height stage.. He then came back with a back pain but completed the song.. He says Vishal may seem aggressive but he is very sweet and says whatever is there in his heart.. Vishal says what ever he is today, he owes all that to Shiraz.. He met Shekhar, his wife because of Shiraz and he is part of Pentagram too.. he also adds, he may compose music or not, he will defintiely be part of Pentagram
Performances:
Harpreet is not well and Raja comes and leaves him on stage giving him a support.. Aditya says Harpreet’s close friend is Sunil Kumar the contestant of SRGMP C2007.. Sunil comes on stage and shares an incident.. While they were coming for auditions, they were travelling via train and there were few people who had harmonium and dholak and were singing and asking for money.. They asked 30 from Harpreet and Sunil, but they gave only 15.. They demanded more and Harpreet said you did not sing so much for you to get even 15.. They then said they will give 40 if he sings for them.. Harpreet took harmonium and Sunil got the dholak and they both started singing but they never got the money.. He requests public to vote for him and says consider him as a child and give him votes as he is not well.. Requests him to sing Channa ve ghar aaja ve..
VS after his performance, says once more.. Vishal takes the shall from ID and goes on stage.. They all start dancing and Vishal says that ID has gifted that shall to harpreet for this performance..

Raja’s friends are Ahmed and babu.. Babu is a school friend of Raja and Aditya asks him to share few experiences.. Babu says they all used to watch in a TV show room but the shopkeeper always used to drive them away and one day Raja said he will surely come on TV one day and today he is here.. They request him to sing Teri deewani from Kailash’s album..

Tulsi Kumar sister of Gulshan Kumar is introduced by Himesh and says - she is a great singer and sister of Gulshan Kumar and also mine.. they sing tadap tadap song from Darling.. Himesh then calls Divya, wife of Bhushan on stage.. She says Pritham, Himesh and her husband has given a great music.. So, dont forget to listen to it.. Himesh says Pritam’s all songs are super hit.. They release the CD and Divya distributes to all of them.. Fardeen says - “T series has planned to give CD for all the audience today..” Then ID, Himesh and Fardeen throw some CD’s towards for the audience..

These judges are really CRAP…How do you explain high praises for Mauli…Is it just me or can anyone sing the crappy songs that she sings…Please someone explain this to me…

I believe either mauli or joy should be eliminated and i hope a complete singer like Amanat is not shown a yellow signal.

HR & ID just were totally confused as to where to locate the unnecessary flaws in Raja’s singing. BD is always full of criticism for other contestants, and he surely becomes deaf when he hears Mouli…
Raja, you were simply brilliant. it was not just a copy of Kailash Kher singing. Raja put its own notes and made it really marvellous.Really God’s own Voice.
after listening this performance, i really don’t think that number 1 or any position matters for you in Saregama.You have already reached the masses.

lol i saw the episde it was real good! junaid rocks he sings real good! i wonder what happened to harpreet .. like why he was sick? umm anyways does amanat have an affair with mauli or sumheda lol. himesh and ismail said its a gurl from buppi larys gharana. i think its mauli cuz they kept zooming in on her face lol. leave ur opinion and vote for JUNAID!
I will come to the contestents later but first of all I would like to talk about the so called mentors. Bappi lehri, just stop with the nonsense of promoting mauli as shakira. I mean enough is enough. I was just wondering what would be mauli’s style, how would she have sung differently if bappi hasn’t labeled her as shakira. Also, Saregama 05 had the biggest problem that contestant got votes coz of their region. And now bappi is requesting bengal in bengali to especially vote for mauli. Bappi, just stop it…
VS. so far these guys are far better than other mentors but this time neither vishal nor shekhar made any sense. Criticizing amanat and others that sur wasn’t good. Watch out.
Himesh. Too much with the affairs. I mean aik film kia release ho gayi, romance and affair stories hi khatam nahin hoti. Stop hurting contestant’s images. Just keep the talking to minimum.
ID. He is fine but sometimes seems to have Himesh’s personality. I liked him when he danced on stage to support poonam. But didn’t like the way he dragged Fardeen. But it was ok.
In this episode it seemed like no mentor gave points based on singing. They all had other reasons. I mean PLEASE.
have been watching srgmp for many years now, i must say this year is the toughest competition.
I just wish they had not repeated the mentors - ID & HR seem to have formed a team. ID - can you pls stop adding points and stop asking people to vote ‘coz someone is from a particular state/ region?? I wish Zeetv wud edit these comments. This is a music performance, not a a parliamentary election.

I agree with the above comments about Mauli. I really do not think Mauli could have gotten the most votes. Its the judges who are trying to bring her above everyone else. Why they are doing this? I don’t know. And yes, it is right that by looking at these comments you can see how many people actually would be voting for Mauli. I have nothing against her but I just think that she is not a good singer and quite frankly should have been eliminated by now.
When anyone else sings well, the judges either a)calmly give them 10 out of 10 without saying much, without appriciating much, and without coming on the stage or b)only 2 out of three judges would give them good points and one (usually bapida) would just pick out a small mistake and give them a 7. I mean come on, just because they don’t belong to your gharana, doesn’t mean you don’t give them credit for it. We can see how fair they are. And when it comes to Mauli, they call her Shakira??? Oh please stop it because if Shakira found out who she is being compared to, she’d die of a heart attack. Anyhow, Mauli is good at singing those item numbers, but now its time for real competiton. Those who are actually deserving should get credit for it.
Amanat, Sumedha, Poonam, Musarrat and Junaid and Raja are great and should stay at the top. Good Luck to you all:)
For some strange reason tht is difficukt to figure out….just dnt understand why do some judges -HR and BL want Mauli on teh show ,when she is just not worth it.its now JOY or MAULI’s turn to get eliminated.

hello ppl! i dont understand one thing why is it that vishal and shekhar have got problem with mussarat singing the same type of songs when raja is not doing anything different -even he is choosing the same jonure of songs-with that visal-shekhar have got no problem but whenever musarat sings its a problem tell them to pay more attention at their contestants and not to be too confident over raja- secondly i dont get the logic of putting singers like amanat musarat or junaid in the bottom 3 oh for GOD sake ppl like joy and mauli and aneek should be in the bottom 3 not such briliant singers like amanat,mussarat or junaid i mean how can mauli get the highest number of votes thats so unfair to other contestants like poonam for example who sings way better than mauli i guess our voting is of no use when zee tv wants to decide for itself whose the best singer- and i think its kind of their trick to put the pakistani singers in the bottom three every week one of them must get the yellow light why not for once all the pakistani singers get through in one go….my GOD wat logic anyways thats my opinion n pls guys those voting for mauli spend some time voting for other contestants who are way better n sound better pls..thats my request…

I know the reason why is Mauli being favoured by all the judges, unfortunately if I say anything here, it will be censored, you people know well why is she compared to Shakira..lol.
I think Amanat should concentrate more on singing rather than showing his interest in girls, I think he should leave this job to Junaid.
I would suggest Mussarat and Raja to buy some decent Kurtas for next show.
I would appreciate Bappi Da for his scoring, I think he is the most fair judge, but at same time I would critcise him for supporting Mauli.

I don’t understand why mouli is getting 10?Marks should be given for singing not for dance. I appreciate Vishal n Shekhar for giving her 8. Others also should have given her less than 8. She sould have been kicked off long long long back.She don’t have the potential to become a playback singer and Aneek got very less marks. Bappida is very kanjoose in giving marks to other group contestants. I wish he won’t be there in next sa re ga ma pa. Voters plz vote for the best, its a request.

I like Aneek amongst all the singers but don’t care if he wins the competition or not, since winning this shouldn’t be sole criteria for becoming a playback singer. Also, the hatred for Mauli is infantile at best. She has her weaknesses & strengths just like everyone else including the god himself Raja! At least she doesn’t forget the lyrics.
Well after I reviewed criticizing abt Mauli and Aneek, I didn’t resist my self to tell the person whoever has wrote that crapy things. Mauli is way different singer thn sweet tone girl…its like Himesh who has got different voice. About her performance, she got rocking performance, according to me, Vishal shekhar gave 8 points cause they wanna favour Raja infront of public. Raja was geting highest votes since 3 episode…he got 30/30 points, even though he made many mistakes in song. Mauli sung 4-5 variations in the song..if u know some singing…know this. And yaa Aneek is well deserving candidate who has got 30/30 more than any candidate if u consider all rounds. so please be honest while puting your opinion in public. Well deserving candidate can be any of these…all are really gr8 singer…!!!!! undoubtedly gr8 singers!!

I guess when someone makes basic singing mistakes that can be called as variations. And therefore of course MAULI brings in much more variation in her singing compared to other contestants :))
Raja, Amanat, Aneek, Mussarat, Poonam are the deserving finalists. Raja first only because of his singing from the soul renditions…technically and versatility perspective both Amanat and Aneek are very good. Mussarat as has been established is good in Sufi genre and Poonam has to yet sing melody based songs…
Sumedha has good tonal quality but sings pretty flat she does not go for the high/low notes but melody and similarly Joy also does not have the range, his high notes tend to curve before they peak.

u guys don’t see bagger on sare’pa show…she is poonam and her mentor. please don’t cry on her life situation/background. don’t use that as a base to vote. everybody has problem in life in level of more or less. i am not saying she not a good singer but sometime she sings and looks like noise. but i must say few her performance are much better than others. just to say that

You know what this is like? It is exam in science stream and all students get science paper but one student gets arts paper and that is what they are given marks on. lol you know what I mean…..arts student in science class aka Mauli in saregamapa C2007.

Mouli can best described as a bedroom singer (Yes i means bedroom not bathroom), unnecessary she inserts those xxxx sounds in every song she sings and recent performance was also not an exception.
I wish and pray that Mouli gets out this time, if, not then unnecessary another skilled singer will have to leave the show.surely there has to be one winner, but if good candidates are out @expense of worst candidates, then it is not justified.

POONAM has sung really beautiful songs. Till now she has sung all the songs well. She has brought LIFE into the song “Tare hai baraatein”, its better than original song. She also has a good attitude n she seems fully involved in the song she sings.
Its really GREAT about her that without having any coaching she sings so well.
About Poonam, one question - does she really have no training? I mean she stresses the low notes properly and also sings to taal. In some of the songs she has sung exceptionally well. For someone with zero training she would have to have exceptional talent to be able to do so.
I hope atleast this time mouli gets out of the show. I’m waiting for that wonderful moment. She is not at all a potential candidate who can become a playback singer. She can only dance n can sing only and only “mayya mayya” . She was supposed to get lost long back but don’t know why she is still there.

I have a feeling zee is going to keep mauli till the very last because of her massive fan following and to retain their USA viewership. So, even if she recieves the lowest amount of votes, they’ll still retain her in the contest. It’s appalling that such a reputed show is stooping down to such a level.Mauli isn’t a HORRIBLE singer, but she ain’t close to being good either. She has no soul in her singing. I am not a Mauli fan.. nor do I want to see her win over other more derserving candidates.
BUT …
we have to accept the fact that Mauli sings popular songs that the common Janta can identify with. She sings in tune (She has not slipped tune even once.. her mistake is in singing in a lower note that is very rough to the ears. ).
The averange Indian knows the “Mast” song more than the beautiful Ghazal “Rasme ulfat” that Amanat sang. So the “Mast” won over the ghazal. Not everyone appreciates poetry. But almost everyone appreciates a popular “mast” song. So it is least surprising that Mauli won over Amanat in a public vote.
Mauli has a very cute personality. She is warm and caring even to other participants. She stands up and claps when other performers do a good job. She comes across as a friendly and sincere person in the Hungama shows. She does not have the arrogance one would expect out of a US born Indian.
If Mauli is more outgoing and talkative on stage, thats because, in the US, kids grow up without the self-consciousness that a Indian kid normally has. US kids are not shy to talk out their minds. Its a cultural thing.
So, having said that, I think Mauli derserves to go .. no doubt. But she does not deserve so much of hatered and mud-slinging that is happening to her. C’mon she is a kid out to show her talent. I think she is better than Sumedha who is sailing smoothly under the radar with just her “cho chweet” looks. Sumedha cannot sing a song that is outside her range which is plain sweet mediocre numbers. No alaap, no high sur, no low sur, no variation.
Vote out Mauli.. but vote out Sumedha before that as well. Thats fair.

The problem with Mauli is not that she is a bad singer (not good either). The problem is that after one song she was hyped as the greatest singing discovery on the planet. But when it was discovered that she really wasn’t that good the judges made it a point to still stuff her down our throats. I believe the people who are angry with her still being in the show have a legitimate gripe. She has been shown extreme favoritism throughout and that is unfair to other singers, but that is not Mauli’s fault the fault belongs to the judges alone. They could have just admitted that they made a mistake and sent her on her way, but then there would not be all this TRP and USD.
Let me give u the latest!i am from miami,USA & the whole saregamapa is a planned programe (farse)as i tied more than 10 times to vote for poonam after her Rang de,fantastic performance(pls ask indian shakira to atleast sing one line of it)wasted % 10 to vote for poonam by sms & it won’t accept or register! There is a hype around Raja as well. He is a great singer.. but why is he being singled out over others like Junaid, for example, who is equally good (if not more versatile) ?? If Raja is getting so much more air time than others, certainly, he will get more votes. This is unfair to others.
Aneek, Junaid, Musarrat and Harpreet are 100% relying on their singing talent to get votes. Everyone else has some natak around them to promote their names.

I think if a postee happens to express a inane or inept(unwarranted and unsolicited) opinion, responding in the form of chastisement would initiate a game in which others would readily jump in.
Its similar to the Osho analogy of a person jumping into a muddied river to clean it up. You would stir up more muck and pollute the river more…I think that’s how negativity spreads.
I do admire you for standing up for sanity and decorum. But I think in this case its misguided

I do agree that singing skills and this singer’s character these are two mutually exclusive attributes. A person could be a good person without being a good singer and vice versa (I have known some extraordinarily putrid characters being very good singers). One should not venture opinions on people without knowing them (and in almost all cases do not opine or judge even if you do know them

I agree with you Adiya is immature but don’t you think maturity comes with age and experience. Aditya is only 20 yrs old and Shaan is 30+ so it is totally injustice to compare him with Shaan. Shaan is way too older and experienced than him so definitely he is more mature. If you want to compare then please compare with someone of the same age.
