Review of 11th August Episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007
Hi Friends and welcome back to your favourite show Saregamapa Challenge 2007. Today is very special day as saregamapa is going to celebrate Independance Day and Todays guest of honour is none other than Cricket Legendary Kapil Dev…so lets begin the show updates..
Group Performance:
The show begins with Raja, Aneek and Harpreet singing Rang de Basanti title song.. Then the girls – Mauli, Poonam and Sumedha join them for the same song.. Then they all sing and perform together..
Aditya says today we have a special guest but before that Pakistani contestants will perform.. Mussarat, Amanat and Junaid come to stage with drum, Guitar and they also play the instruments and sing jasbaat junoon toh himmatr na kar.. apni hogi pehchaan
Aditya welcomes Kapil Dev and kapil Dev enters the stage.. Aditya asks him how he feels coming here as this is also a world cup.. He says now world cup is going on and congratulates everyone.. This is not a cricket world cup but after seeing their talents it seems that there will be no problem for the next generation.. This credit goes to the television industry for giving them the platform.. This was not available in the past before 20-30 years.. He also continues that its nice to see that all are supporting their country and wearing dress supporting the country.. He says – before we were brothers staying together and now we are staying separately.. Its only that the house has changed, but the culture everything is the same.. He says all those who have come to this country – we will see to it that they are given due respect and they feel like they are at home.. He wishes the Pakistani contestants and says may the best man win..
Aditya says that is why we are celebrating the independence day of both the countries..

Vishal – Im so proud of you.. Everyone sang in english, Joy sang in Arabic but this is the first time some one has sung in Sanskrit.. Proud because you chose such a song..

Poonam says she never wanted to win this contest as she did not want any luxurious life.. Himesh says only sometimes Saraswati gives blessings and so you should never say like this..

HR – you do well in one genre.. why do you want to deviate? what do you want to prove? you should be proud of your genre.. if you become trishanku everyone would be unhappy.. select the song in which you can sing – 5
Bappida – gaane mein sur ooncha neecha ho gaya.. But I am sure, public will support you in this matter..
Vishal – It was not a great attempt – but I am sure you can do much better and requests public to vote for her..

Kapil Dev – There cannot be any better song than this which we could dedicate for the mother land.. This is an extremely good composition..
HR – This is an immortal song and it would be unfair to make the comparison.. So, give you 8..
ID -if you do riyaz, then you will definitely do well.. give8
VS- I an sure you will take te comments given by HR and ID seriously gives 9.
Bapida comes to stage and says this is my favorite song and if on this earth Saraswati maa resides on someone’s throat, then thats Lataji.. My father is a great music director and he has done a song with Lataji in Bengali.. I would like to sing that.. He then sings that song..

Kapil Dev – Harpreet asks Kapil Dev to talk in Punjabi and says he met him in a stadium and also he bowled for him and Kapil Dev played his ball.. Kapil Dev asks him why he said he is not a big patriot and that it hurt him a lot.. Harpreet says he is a patriot but he has not done anything for the country.. That is why he said this..

The person who finds maulis song good is tone deaf!! the above post rightly said – mauli has given only 2 gud performances so far, infact i wud say only one -mayya mayya…even in sunidhis mast she sounded like a mad screeching woman… to think of it even her mayya mayya lyrics were soo messed up but she scored becoz of her confident personality and becoz she had like a loooong time to practise and make the song sound right. all her repeat performances of mayya mayya also are like a parrot repeating…this clearly shows she is just FAKE n is camouflaging all her mistakes very smartly…but poor girl just cudnt do it anymore on the independance day show…. finally truth came out!! I think Poonam stood out in the I-Day episode. She has been improving steadily from the outset, comes from a zero training background.
To render vande mataram, in sanskrit, and despite the incredible complexity of the composition with such ease. Hats off!!
I am sure now, she can if she practices be one of the greats (yes and I am using the word great intentionally). If she can come this far in 4 months or so, with the dedication she has right now a year or two with good monetary rewards ….watch out lady singers of the Bollywood Industry.

guess what mauli is out next week.i heard this from a source. But i am not hundred percent sure. According to the source next week mauli juanid and mussarat will be in bottom three and mauli will be voted out. i just hope the information that i have received is true.

Why was Mauli speaking in past tense about Independence day celebrations in the USA? like “jab hum celebrate karte the”, “jab independence day functions hote the”… dude, get this straight, they are still happening so dont talk like you’re 100 years old and it used to happen in your zamana only. geez!
So sorry for you guys, all you talk About is Mauli. You all must secretly like her. She is not going out next week, Mussarat or sumedha will be out next week. Dont you see Saregamapa ads in america, most of the ads come before mauli’s performance, you think they will let her go??? NO WAY. YOU’LL HAVE TO LISTEN TO HER FOR 4 MORE WEEKS. SORRY GUYS LEARN TO LIKE HER. She’s good when SHE WANTS TO BE.CANT DENY THAT.
2 of Mauli’s top songs- Mayya Mayya anD Man Basiya were viewed on youtube about 250000 times. Combined all top songs of all the remaining contestants were viewed less than 100000 times. What does that tell you Mauli Haters. THERE ARE A LOT MORE PEOPLE IN YOUR OPPOSITION. LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT.
Chocolate Rain was watched 5 million times, that doesn’t mean that the song is good it means that there is hype.
Mauli has been the worst performer on countless nights but the judges have tried to hype her to keep her in the show.
So stop lying to yourself that this girl has singing talent. Don’t worry she most likely will succeed and become a pop singer and special effects will fix all faults in her singing.
But in this show her making it this far has been a travesty. And all real fans of singing have spoken.
Hype or no Hype if 5 million viewers watched it then it is a hit. Regardless you like it or not, Who ever started the hype -chocolate rain singer is the beneficiary-same with Mauli. The issue is not whether she is good or not, She is the most popular and liked by general public, you may like mussarat( Sufi type of singer who forgets his lyrics and messed up Tere Naam Song) but most of the general public is for Mauli. There must be something in chocolate rain for it get the hype.
There are two points Mauli lovers are making -
1> That Zee is trying to deliberately promote Mauli, just to get reach into the US. In this they are supported by the Judges.
2> A lot of people are watching Mauli videos as opposed to the other contestants.
I think people who dislike Mauli’s singing(if you can call it that), will readily concur with both points.
1> Yes Mauli is deliberately promoted via rigging and other deceitful means at the cost of good talent. This is unfair, but one needs to learn to live in an unfair world. However, you need to keep fighting unfair things and not condone or live with it.
2> The vast majority is tone deaf and vote/view for all the wrong reasons. If people have been viewing Mauli’s videos and not of Raja, Amanat, Aneek, Poonam and some other really good singers then it proves the point that the vast majority have no idea what they are listening to they are so intent on the hype and “performance” on stage…
As I said before, no competition, everyone will grant you both these points.
But Mauli disliker’s will continue opposing poor quality contestants being promoted actively.
Sorry, but that’s the way it is.
whoever said 5 million viewers watched it…plz get ur records straight!! this shows u can go to any lengths to prove that she is watchable…agreed she is watchable but plz accept it- SHE CANT SING!! maybe if she was on a personality contest or a show like indian idol it would have been better for her…

Mauli messed up big time with Swadesh Song…No doubt “Maiya Maiya” was brilliant but then even Mohd Aziz and Shabbir kumar have sung one or 2 songs brilliantly…Mauili is better than most of us who are no gud than a bathroom singer but from the lot now in top 9…or for that matter in top 11 when abhijit went out…she dsnt deserve the place….you cant take away the credit from her even for one song…but now when the comparison is with the people lefdt…if the last has to go…then its Mauli….noone other than her…musarrat is brilliant no doubt so neone saying that messing with lyrics then it has happened couple of times with Raja who is no doubt the Winner of the show in all probability and he is just brilliant….we cant say that mussarrat is average …he is really good….yes…bingo to the guys above who wrote Mauli song n the Judges stuff as well…Mauli’s time is over…still she wld get stage shows for maiya…n she can earn sm gud bucks…

What’s wrong with you people, leave her alone, If you dont like her dont listen/see her. SHE IS NOT GOING TO WIN THIS SHOW, so what difference does it make if she leaves now or 3-4 weeks later??? All you haters are behaving as if her presence in the show is hurting you all personally.

I believe Mauli looks like a beast and on top of that she is a giant…
Also both Sumedha and Poonam look much better then Mauli, they just don’t wear mini-skirts…

Mauli, come back to the states. Aneek deserves to win the competition. At least I won’t have read the infantile comments on this blog, of idiots who probably can’t sing worth a damn.
Mauli bad, really bad! Stinks with a stench! Did anyone notice her voice crack while she ended the “antra” of the Swades song? And the judges give her 7?! Thanks to Himesh for giving her a low score. Hope she is finally thrown out. We don’t need SaReGaMa to be popular in USA at the cost of screaming manly voices.
It is sad why some men have developed a dislike for Mauli even as she is singularly responsible for Saregamapa to rank as currently the most popular reality musical show in India. I have a feeling that they are awed by her physical stature and feel their own inadequacies. There can be no other reason as most of the time Mauli has been scoring very well with the judges as well as the audiences. She has made less mistakes than the other contestants and some of her renditions have been standout.
Inadequacies, out of the three girls still left she is the ugliest. The hatred for her is only for her singing prowess which is non existent. She can only sing low, and I mean very low as anything high will crack her voice into a horrible screech. She has had One standout rendition, some have been passable as kareoke while most have been horrible.
The week Anita was booted Mauli was given another chance to sing the same standout performance.
The week Shresta was booted it was generally accepted that Shresta had performed much better then Mauli.
The week Mauli sang Taal se Taal she butchered it so bad that she was the first on the show to receive a 5, not only that she received all 5′s.
Then this week she butchered another beautiful song and again received a 5 (should have gotten all 5′s).
Her fans are populated by little girls, horny boys and Gujju people and all of the above are not listening with there ears but with there eyes.
She should have been out a long time ago but like you said TRP, and that is THE ONLY REASON THAT SHE IS STILL IN THIS SHOW.
Just look at Ismail Darbar’s poor face during Mauli’s previous performance and that is how us the public has felt during the majority of her performances.
At best she will become an Item girl. I believe that she is a glorified karaoke singer.
In terms of effort and quality of singing so far I would add Poonam to that list.
But knowing that this is going to be a voting game and mass voting support will go for a singer who is more likeable, I would agree with you with the exception of -
It will be
1. RAJA
2. Amanat
3. Aneek
4. Poonam/Mussarat.
Mauli haters -You have all gone off the deep end. May god help you all.
Mauli was better than Shreshta on that day, It was Vishal – Shekhar who tried to oust Mauli that day because they knew that this is the only way they can get rid of her or else she might even win this contest.The were playing politics.
