Review of 21st July Episode of Saregamapa Challenge 2007
Hello Friends, Yesterday we saw elimination of Apurva. Today is going to be a fun episode as the special guest on the show is Salman Khan to promote his forthcoming film Partner along with Lara Dutta….
Initial performances, Theme and Introduction of Guests
The show begins with all the participants along with Aditya singing Ho gaya re Ho gaya from Partner. First the guys and Aditya start singing (you are my love) and then the girls continue.. All the contestants are having some instruments in their hand and are also playing it. Amanat and Raja have drums, Junaid has a guitar. Girls are also having some or the other instrument. once they complete, Do you want a partner song is played in the background and Salman enters the stage from somewhere down the stage.. The promo of the film is also shown.. Even now the contestants are playing their respective instruments.
Aditya welcomes Salman.. Salman asks - “Kitna bada ho gaya hain yeh, Iske naak se bhi tapakte thee when I met him first” He asks Aditya if he remembers or he has forgotten.. Aditya says the film name was Jab pyaar kisi se hota hain.. The scenes where Salman and Aditya played the important role in the movie is shown..
Aditya asks Salman to talk about the movie Partner.. He says the movie has had a good opening and he had to do a lot of hard work as govinda was part of it and he made him do the shots more than 10 times until its perfect. Its a funny picture and it was fun doing it.. The hardwork can be seen in the picture..
Aditya calls Lara on stage.. He calls her aunty as Salman had asked him to address her like that.. Lara asks him not to call like that and says she will call Salman as bhai then. Salman then asks Aditya not to call her aunty. About the movie she says - she is a Journalist in the movie and she is one who is always behind stories and she is behind Salman as he is one among Don gang.. She wishes all the contestants best of luck.. Today all contestants will sing Salman’s hit songs.. Salman says - “He will not allow if they sing Aamir or Shahrukh songs”

Rock Gharana
Joy - Salman gives him an advice before he starts.. He says - “Naak se mat gaana”.. You can remove the topi. So, remove it.. Himesh says - “Salman is in front and he cannot say anything now”.. Joy says - “He loves Salman and will love till end of the life.. Salman thanks him..
He sings - Dil keh raha hain from kyunki.. The energy level was really good..

Lara - The way you sang with fun and energy - I liked the performance..
Salman - I liked your performance, but did not like the way you hold the mike.. You should have hold it in Himesh’s style.. Have worn, Jacket, Cap so you should have done this also.. Himesh says - “I cannot say anything when Salman is in front of me”.. Salman then continues - You could have done better, but was so good.. This would have been Himesh’s first song but Kunal sang it (asks Himesh who sang then gets the answer from Joy) In this song there is a different style adopted by Kunal - you tried to bring it - but you could have done better.. But somehow you did well.. Himesh says - “Naak se nahin gaaaya na isiliye

Himesh - He praises Salman.. He says he is a good human being.. There is no one like him and for his carrier he is the important person.. Asks him to give some points for Joy as Bappida has given very less and he does not want to talk anything about it against anyone.. He also says during C2005, the TRP of the show was very high when Salman visited.. Salman gives 7.5 and says for me 7.5 is going on and so want to transfer it to him Everyone have a big laugh over this..
Mussarat says to Salman - I dont know how I am going to sing as you are in front.. Salman encourages him to sing well.. He sings Kyon kisi ko from tere naam..

Aneek starts his performance.. The tune is played.. Once Salman listens to the song, he asks if he is going to sing this song.. Aneek says he is sure of that.. He goes to the stage - removes Aneek’s coat and shirt and asks him to perform.. Aneek is totally confused but then he had to perform so continues..
he sings O O jaane jaana from Pyaar kiya toh darna kyaa..
Aditya says - Once more and asks the audience if they want Salman on stage or not.. Salman asks Aneek to wear the shirt again.. He says - he will give 2.5 for his body, 4.5 for confidence and 2.5 for his singing…

Poonam - Before starting she says Ismailji had given her this song to sing and said she has to bring tears in Salman’s eyes.. Salman says he is a good actor and can do even if he does not get it.. Ismail tells Poonam - “When i composed this song, Salman said — (It was a beep) about the song.. I was really worried as i was new” You are new today - dont worry you will perform well..

There is a break and then Aditya announces about Salman’s new film MarieGold.. Lara praises Salman for this movie.. He asks if she was pulling his legs or praising him..

Harpreet sings Jeene ke hain char din.. During his performance, Salman comes on stage and takes the shall that Harpreet is wearing and start dancing..
Comments:
Salman - Tussi great ho.. But will only give 9 as the costume he was wearing was not appropriate to the song.. He should have come in towel..
Aditya says Harpreet is Devdas type and sings sad songs, but today sang such fast number.. Harpreet says he had heard this song is salman’s favorite and so chose this song..
Vishal asks how he could get that 10.. Lara says, she will give one point.. She says for showmanship give you 10..

Salman interrupts her and says, Only because of this your marks are going to be cut.. Very good performance. “Aisa bhi koi gaata hain??” (Asks Is this singing) Then appreciates him saying he did a very good job.

HR - Says give you 100% - Best performance of the evening. Requests his fans to vote for him. Points - 10
VS - again give him a standing ovation.
Salman says - If there is someone who can break this flow, then that is only Bappida asks him to give him 10. Tells, - ” main aapke pair padta hoon.. Kyaa kar rahe ho”. Bappida speaks nothing and gives 10..
VS are really excited about this and says they are really lucky to have him in their gharana.
Raja tells Salman that it was a wish come true for him. He had once wanted to meet him but he could not. He could not get Salman but got Arbaaz. So, told him lies that he was music director.. Salman says he should have said he is a producer.. He says he has a good connection with Jodhpur also..
Next Aditya calls Hunk of Saregamapa - Junaid on stage.
Before the performance, Junaid speaks to Salman. He says he has nothing to say all is said and done by other contestants. But he has been a big fan of Salman and has always followed him while work outs. He always does a step that Salman does in Hello Brother and he does that and shows to Salman. Salman does not remember then Junaid makes him remember that it was the step when he used to meet Arbaaz in the movie. Salman says he is always there in present and future and does not consider about the past.
Junaid sings Aisa pehli baar hua hain from Har dil jo pyaar karega.. During his performance, VS stand and dance and so does Salman. After his performance they says they are really proud of him..
Salman asks him from where he takes the voice? All of them in audience, Shekhar shout - Once More.. He then starts singing.. All the mentors except Bappida start dancing for the song. They all come out of their place onto stage. Salman also enters the stage. The other contestants come out and start dancing. All mentors too start singing the song that Junaid sings.
Final Performance by all
Himesh says something to Salman in his ears softly. Then he starts waving his hands. So, does Salman in HR’s ears.
The title song of partner starts getting played.. Do you want a partner is played - Salman sarcastically replies NO.. All are enjoying the song.. Himesh and Salman hold the same mike and start singing and shouting. It doesnot seem like they have a rift between them
Bappida says there is a movie of Lara Dutta in which all songs are sung by Mauli. Lara says - this is one show which has so much of talents.. May the best one win..
Everyone are enjoying and dancing on stage and thus the show ends

Why havent you posted anything on Amanat’s singing and his score on the Guru meter??biftbrm
GUYS.. WHY AMANAT ALI hasn’t perform on this episode? This is a big question now? what’s the conspiracy theory of this SAREGAMAPA team of ZeeTV? Is he not well or he can’t sing any of Masti songs of Salman or he has got VISA problem also? I really wanted to see how Amanat is going to sing these funny type of songs of Salaman. He should not be allowed to just bypass this episode.
Yeah… 21st july episode does not have AMANAT’s performance. He is a Front runner singer. I miss him this episode.
hi i am from canada, they showed amanat perform. he sang chori chori from Lucky. He sang very well and was awarded well by the mentors. Vishal said that he was wrong in doubting amanat’s verstility. Since he sang and very different song, they were very happy. hope that helped.

In this episode, BL was all the time trying to impress Salman? Advising all his contestants to come under Salman’s Umbrella. He was sounding too stupid. I don’t understand why is he not comfortable to give good marks to the contestants from other gharana while all other Gurus are appreciating and giving good marks to his contestants.
Amanat sang really well the song Chori Chori. I want to see the contest between Amanat, Junaid, Raza, Aneek, Poonam as 5 finalists.
Good show today with Salman. After reading so much about the Salman episode, I was expecting a lot of bad vibes as I watched the prog today on TV, but it turns out that Salman was playing around and just making fun of everything.. all in very good humour. I did not sense any ill feelings between HR and SK.
Mauli performed well. Much better today. But still not as good as some others. She has to really accelerate to catch up with the front runners.
Junaid was awesome. I loved his performance yesterday as well. He was too good.
Everyone was fantastic today. It will be very difficult from now on to vote people off.
I did not like one thing … when Salman put Aneek on the spot by removing his shirt. This is a serious competiion.. what if Aneek had messed up his song because of embarrasement or whatever !! That would have cost him the competition. The public is fickle minded.. it may not have understood the predicament Aneek was in. Anyways he did great even in the situation. Good for him !
Next to go - Mauli, Joy or Abhijit. Difficult choice, but the rest were stellar today.

All the contestants are really good and its going to be a tough competition for them…Today Junaid Shiekh rocked the stage. He was really good and I hope he does the same next time too. Raja Hassan is like the baadshah so i dont think he has to worry about anything because if he doesnt even win..so many music directors are going to offer him in the future. But in my oppinion, the people that might make it to top 5 are Raja Hassan, Amanat Ali, Poonam Yadav, Aneek Dharr and Mussarat Abbas. Mussarat is really good too but sometimes he’s average but most of the time he sings well. Poonam is alwayss good, no questions about her. And Amanat has a really strong voice that attracts the audience. So these are my thoughts…

Well, it was really rocking episode because of Salman. And all the contestants done great job. Especially Junaid. He rocked the stage. He doesnt need to win any competition because he’s already been hired by Vishal/Shekhar and they will surely rock in the future together. For Mauli, yes she sang the song nicely but it is also true that it was like an item song even this song “No Entry” is not a very tough song to sing like musarrat and poonam’s songs and they have to struggle alot to present their songs nicely and I think they performed very nicely. So she proved that she can only sing item or club songs not classical/shastria, neem classical and other kinda stuff. She s limited to club songs so for her standing in this show to stick on her position, she has to prove alot of things in singing. I’m impressed with the performances of Junaid, Amanat, Raja, Aneek & Sumedha. Sumedha is no doubt a good singer and she has soft, sweet and very melodious voice. She s perfect for recording, yes I agreed with Lara. At the end it was the show of two hereos, one Salman and one Junaid. Mind blowing performances. Some people talked about Musicians, so I think this was pre-recorded orchestras or tracks and singers have to sing on recorded karoake.

This Episode was so much fun. Even though the musicians were missing which had a negative effect on the quality of the songs, but overall it was tons of fun. OK.. Let me be the first one to admit that i really underestimated Junaid’s singing ability. This guy has a really bright future with his amazing voice quality and energy. He rocked the stage.
Also, I was really impressed with Sumedha. She looked really hot and gave her best and I agree 100% with Lara Dutta that she is ready to hit the recording studios.
Raja, Aneek, Mussart, Ammanat and Poonam were also good. Actually, I expected them to do a little better . Also, i was surprized by Mauli as she finally selected the right item song that suited her voice.
Now, I have updated my Top 7 List for this show:
1)Ammanat (Enough said)
2)Raja (Watch out Ammanat)
3)Sumedha (A complete singer)
4)Aneek (I want you to sing a classical song to put you on the same level as ammanat and Raja)
5)Mussarat (A very good singer, needs to be a little more consistent)
6)Junaid(I want to see your next 2 performances as good as this one)
7)Poonam (Again, if you could be more consistent, i would have put you in the top 5)
We saw some great performances on 21st July episode but I want to appreciate Aneek for keeping his cool and not losing his concentration after going thru a horrible situation.Salman does’nt know where to draw line and trying to entertain at the cost of others.HATS OFF to u Aneek for being so sporting and bearing everything with a smile.

When you are choosing a particular song for singing please go through the lyrics & understand it first because in 21st july salman khan’s episode you have sung a song which have violated principals of islam. we as a muslim do bandagi(prayer)only towards almighty allah & as per the song’s lyrics it is clearly understandable that the bandagi is towards girlfriend/lover which is not acceptable in islam and whoever says like this is not accepted as a muslim .
If any muslim who has commited this mistake should recite the kalima first & say sorry from your heart to almighty allah.
You are a very good singer & we all wish you win this contest.
21st july episode is best described an episode of raja & only raja, what a great level of singing.
such a difficult song and he did full justice with the song even more.
Sumedha was quite impressive, as ID said about her.Lara dutta judged her very well.
yes Junaid was good, but remember it was just a catchy song with excellent music and not at all a tough song to sing.since it was one of the favourite of salman so he also started dancing with full enthusiasm.but performance of Junaid by no means can be compared with Raja.
Club singer mouli is there only to bring some glamour to the show.even in that arean she fails, sumedha looks much better than Mouli..her act of asking salman to hug was taken from Raja episode, when he asked sunny deol for the same. Ya
Mouli, don’t be a copycat, at least bring something new……

Mr or Miss ccie2x…. U’ve mentioned in your above comment /\ about Junaid song. U should find some other clues to prove Junaid singing as bad. Every person knows that how difficult that song was and how can u say that it is very popular or very easy to sing or it is famous by salman and he personally liked this song. I’m sure 100 precent that for Salman every song which is filmed on Salman as his favorite as Tere Naam or Aisa Pehli Baar, As Dekha Hai Pehli Baar or Do You Wanna Partner. It doesnt make any sense and also u said that Junaid song wasnt easy then come on the floor and sing … just try to sing in bathroom if u shy to sing on the floor. Ask Sonu who originally sang it how difficult that song was and I think Junaid was the only person who comitted to prove that he can filled this song with full of energy and passion. This is not easy to take off every person from their chairs in audience. Every one said ONCE MORE ONCE MORE…. not so easy to sing on the floor straight away. Keep in mind, I’m not linked with Junaid in any relation. No doubt the other performer were fantastic but U see Junaid… his performance were I think rocking and everyone liked it. I dont know how can u put comments like this without any proper reason… Try to appreciate the person who performed well either he is Junaid, Raja, Aneek or Sumedha, Poonam or Mussarat.

Read the post carefully before putting your remarks, first thing i mentioned “Yes junaid was good” Surely he is a great entertainer because of immense energy that he puts in each performance.
I wrote in terms of Singing quality, Surely it was a catchy song and one of the most loved song by salman khan.let junaid sing the ” mahiya” song and check how much justice he can do with the song, it is easy to sing some popular chart-buster and get crowd pulling.
I equally mentioned about impressive performance of sumedha who has already won the hearts with her sweet voice.
For you kind information i am also not related to Raja & Sumedha.
Most important thing is you should learn to respect other views.this is not a forum to fight for favourites.

Wow, what an energy level….
Raja is my hero. He puts a smile on my face with his smile and then makes me cry because his voice is so powerful it touches my heart. I wish people would keep religion out of this situation. I know its hard because it embodies many of our lives but music is for all. It doesnt matter what religion u are, u can appreciate music. Raja embodies music and soul and for that I love him. We are all forgetting that the reason why SAREGAMA is doing this worldwide contest is to bring us a little closer to one another, NOT to tear us apart. I believe Raja should win and that he will win…YOU ROCK MY WORLD RAJA! Keep smiling!
