Saregamapa Bangla and Marathi winners’ entry to the Bramhastra round creates controversy

Written on June 29, 2007 – 12:48 pm | by admin |

saregamapa challenge 2007Controversy just doesn’t seem to leave the sets of Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. The latest issue (in tonight’s episode - 29th June) involves Anik Dhar and Abhijeet Kosambi, who won the Bangla and Marathi versions of the talent hunt respectively.

The channel gave them entry to the Bramhastra round since they are state champions. However, mentors Himesh Reshammiya and Ismail Darbar are miffed with this decision.

When Abhijeet Kosambi of Kohlapur was contacted, he said, “Everything is fine now and we both are now allowed to perform in the ‘Brahmshastra’ round”. He added, “It was declared during the finals of Marathi and Bengali version that we will be included in top fourteen. Well, the judges did not know this and so, they were against our entry”.

It is a little hard to understand that despite being announced before, the judges didn’t know about it or the channel deliberately didn’t inform the mentors about their inclusion. Even Himesh was on his insulting best behaviour and blasted, “Now that Marathi and Bengali winners have been given entry, why don’t we give entries to entries to Telugu, Gujarati and Punjabi winners as well?”

Poor contestants were very upset over the judges’ behaviour, as they were given entry because of the performances in their regional format of the show. It seems to be the fault of the channel for not conveying it to the mentors or their deliberate effort to create a controversy, as including a contestant is not a small issue and the judges should have been informed .

When Ismail Darbar was quizzed on this to why they objected their inclusion in the show, he said, “Like all the other participants they should have been in the show from the beginning for fair competition”. When we told him that the contestants were told about this during the finals of regional format, he said, “I had no idea and I was not informed by the channel”.

What’s your view?

i feel that there should have been a FULL awareness amongst everyone, about the entry of the 2 new participants (ex winners) .. it is ofcourse not fair to all the other participants.. but to have been entered into the bramastra round..we should have some previous knowledge and listening of what these 2 particpants are like… also, it is rather upsetting for them to face this on their 1st entry to the show….. all we can do is wait n watch! all down to the directors/producers and guru’s of the show! everyone should have a fair chance.. thats all i would say on this matter.

true.. i agree i dont think its fair..cuz if everyon is performing in hindi ..why would we choose just bengali and marathi winners, who have jus performed in that language.

good that they won in the regional show..

I feel the show organisers should know by now how the show should go. I am sad to say that the previous SaReGaMaPa had its charm and the quality of the program was so good that it made me to stay tuned with the program, but now with programs like voice of india, indian idol all telecasted in same time the show organisers should have more maturity to keep the quality of the show up rather than telecasting Adithya’s personal advatisements which is unnecessary for the show. He had enough of these and lets be serious about the show. The viewers do not want to see all these nonsense telecasted. If the show organisers feel that they want more viewers to watch their show without switching on channels they should understand the seriousness of the show and what the public is expecting from the show.

SaReGaMaPa has best of the best singers. Let their hard work reflect in the show rather than unnecessary hype to any person to their personal benefit. The true stars are always the contestants and not the one who host.

Bringing in winners of other language SaReGaMaPa would add more confusions rather than a fair fight. The more twists you try to bring in you are losing your audience.

I am a die hard fan of this show. I dont miss any episodes, but now a days I feel that the show is not getting fair and it makes me to feel bad that its not what it used to be. When Shaan hosted the previous episode it used to be good with good level of maturity. Now only the host is given importance and not the contestants. Is Aditya given more importance because he is son of some celebrity? I guess the program should give more importance to the contestants. Please do not lose fans like me. I feel the mentors should also understand this so as the producers of the show.

Why did’nt Gajendra Singh consult with the mentors before they invited the marathi and bengali winners? Or is just another publicity stunt? I think they are going overboard with their publicity tricks..I think they should take it easy..Every epiosde they want a new controvery, why??? Are controversies more imporatnt than singing? Is it a reality show or a talent show? Please stop this nonsense and give the public what they really want..”GOOD SINGERS”

It seems unfair also to the two contestants because now they look like they are trying to sneak in, but they had to make many rounds to come here and to punish them is not doing any justice. I felt sorry for them, I mean just look at how they reacted to the controversy..

They should stop with these publicity tricks by creating false drama, they only hurt the class of the show. How is it possible that the gurus/ judges didn’t know about this from the beginning? And how could they expect this to be cool and acceptable? Today I guess it’s all about creating scandals..

Focus on the great singers you have, invite classy guests, make entertaining surprises to drwa more viewers, don’t ruin the rep of the show.

guys it’s just publicity tricks to attract more people via controversy, as so many people are forgetting Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and watching Indian Idols.

You ask yourself: Is it possible that the mentors don’t know the format of the show? They don’t know there was a top 14 and not just a top 12? You think they’re stupid? They get contracts they have to sign with the format of the show stated.

This is publicity at its worst. The mentors are just making a joke out of themselves and out of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa show. These publicities are cliches now, they should get other methods of publicity.

                      1) Shamita’s fanny after Shilpa winning big bro uk: doesn’t she know you should wear a thong under your skirt?

                      2) Gauhar’s *ss in Lakme: Lakme, biggest design in India, how can they have multiple wardrobe malfunctions in one evening?

                      3) Indian Idol judges walk out round: wtf mate? It’s publiv voting so screw the judges

                      4) Tanushree’s nipple slip: get a life, can’t you take the shot again. She isn’t a hit actress, is this how you get viewers?

+much much more. Stupid publicity. SOMEONE TELL SA RE GA MA PA TO STOP THIS SH*T OR STOP THE SHOW!

As per the decisions making by the judges for the two contestant i.e. Abhjit Kosambi and Aneek Dhar that is really not expectable as responsible viewer of your show. That is very true that they both are outstanding singers but this decision of taking them Inside the competition at this point of time is totally wrong decision from judges and the team of ZeeTV and all….

This my own opinion on the behalf of your decision….

                        Regards,

I do agree with HR if one or 2 region/s is/are given entry why do injustice with others. Either all are allowed or non. This is not fair only one or 2 are allowed. Yes ID is also correct the participants should be there from the very beginning. For that mater then why don’t they give the last 4 finalist in challenge 2005. They were also in saregamapa challenge 2005. I think these controversies are created to make the show more interesting like the sas bhau serials. Somehow our way of life loves to be surrounded with all kinds of controversies. We do enjoy it.

Let’s have fun and enjoy the show. I am in US here also all reality show do create some kind of controversy. So let’s have fun and watch it.
