Review of 23rd June Episode of Saregamap Challenge 2007
Yesterday the Chakravyuh round started and 2 contestants Mauli and Junaid entered into the Agnipariksha round.. There was huge controversy that Srestha should have been In and Mauli should have been out.. But then the decision was final..
Today’s Episode:
Today’s episode commences with Aditya performing and singing the song – Yudh Kar.. He is among the audiences and the contestants are on the stage just waving their hands..
After performance Aditya asks Himesh how he is feeling as his movie is gonna release on 29th and the advance booking will be done from 25th June.. Himesh asks everyone to bless him and asks everyone to go and watch the movie.. He asks everyone to book in advance for the movie.. VS say they are the first one to book and they are booking it now itself for the movie.. How sweet Himesh says he has tried to do natural acting and that its his first try.. He pleads and says – “HImesh ko bacchalijiye”
Performance by contestants – Round 1 – Boys
Raja of Hit IT gharana enters the stage and says there are two songs which his dad chose for him.. One which Raja likes personally is Door Jaiyo of Himesh and the one that he is going to sing he wants to dedicate it for his Dad..
He sings Tere bina from guru
Sunil of Josh Gharana sings Laai vi na gai from chalte chalte.. An AV is shown where Bappida is giving training for him
Amanat Ali of Yalgaar gharana sings Yeh Hosla from Dor.. Excellent performance

Vishal – Today’s Amanat Ali performance is the best so far in the contest.. Did extremely well..
Shekhar – I am proud to be part of this show just because of this performance of yours.. Vishal says to ID – This credit goes to you for searching such a talent and bringing to the show and training him.. ID says he is already a learned singer.. What ever I have earned today, I wish I could give him for this performance.. It seems I have got all the 25 years of fruit.. Amanat says after coming to ID, he has improved a lot..
Aditya asks mentors to give the comments..
ID – Today I want to enjoy the moment of joy which I have got through Amanat’s performance.. So, will not comment..
HR – Amanat’s voice will suite all the leading heroes in the industry
BL – I was the one to bring you till the semi finals in SRGMP for Middle east.. Then when ID joined, he took him till the finals and made him the champion.. That day I told you to get the ticket and come to Mumbai and here you are..
Shekhar’s announcement of the contract:
Shekhar announces the contract for Raja, Amanat, Apurva, Musarrat and Junaid and says they will sing in their next movie.. Sunil need not feel bad.. He is good singer but he is not given the chance because his voice does not suite for the song.. Vishal says it will be an honour to work with all of them..
ID to VS – you have won all our hearts.. You both are very good human being.. Salute you both for that..
Shekhar says – They are good because they have so many people like HR, ID, BL sitting around them.. What ever the public may say about HR and ID, they are real good human beings..
HR thanks them for the compliment and says he has also got good friend..
BL – Congratulates all for getting the contract.. He says there will definitely be many singers who would have got the chance before this contest is over.. He says he has already recorded a song with Mauli..
Comments by Anandji and Results for Boys performance in round 1:
Sunil is a good singer, but can improve a lot.. Sunil is wearing a red shirt and he says today he gets the color of his shirt…Sunil gets eliminated from the show.
Sunil before leaving says he wants to sing few lines.. He sings Tu maane ya maane from wadaali brothers album.. An AV is shown which shows his journey in SRGMP..
After his performance, Vishal says he has not lost, he is winning and going away from the contest.. Shekhar announces that even Sunil will sing for the next movie of theirs..
ID – This is the first time in history that those who are out have got the contract.. One was the Assam boy who got contract from Himesh and another is Sunil..

Comments from Gurus:
BL – Reecha is a classical singer.. She sang the alaap very well. Rimi’s anthra was not proper..
Vishal – All are good singers.. So, cant comment on who will be out..
Shekhar – Everyone sang with a feeling.. All sang ARR’s songs and I always buy two MD’s albums.. ARR and ID..
ID – None of them lived upto the expectation
HR – Tonal quality is good for all of them.. So, they all can record for the movies.. Other decisions, leave upto the Mahaguru..

Reecha was singing like a parrot.. Sur bhi nahin lag rahe thee. You should not cry, but you are out.. Reecha gets out in first round
Reecha starts crying and kuch na kaho song is played at the background.. She says she will not cry, but then becomes emotional and says – Bappida I am sorry, could not do it.. This is not the end of the race for me, I will work hard and go long way..
Vishal – They are winners who are leaving this contest..
BL to Anandji – You have made a wrong Judgment
Vishal says I do not agree to this.. (I think he also supported BL)
HR asks Reecha are you satisfied with the decision? And if not she need not be afraid of anyone and can say it frankly.. Its just a point of view which I want to put forward to the audience and will help you in the near future during Brahmastra..
Reecha first hesitates to say but the after continously pressurizing by Himesh, she says she is not satisfied with the judgment.. Anandji says good that you are frank..

Just then there is a break and got a glimpse during the Ads that VS have got the Brahmastra and 8 contestants have been selected..
Few i could note are – Desh Gaurav, Saaberi, Saarika, Harpreet, Anik, Raja..

Round 2 – Performance by Boys and Girls:
Raja sings Piya re from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan album.. He forgets few lines in the middle and for a second, everything is stand still.. Performance was really good
Amanat Ali sings kadhi aa mil sawa from album of Mehndi Kawal.. One more splendid performance
Rimi Dhar sings Dholna of Shubha Mughal album
Saaberi sings Leja Leja from Shreya and Ustad Sultan Khan album..
Comments and Results by Anandji for Girls:
Both sang well, each one of them have their own style of singing.. Shekhar says they have selected Saaberi and Junaid for singing for VS records.. Anandji says good and thats very nice of them..
Regarding results he says – There were lot of variations in Rimi’s song and so he is choosing her and she also impressed him because of that.. So, Saaberi is out and Rimi is In
BL – Within september there will be many singers who would have made their debut album..
Saaberi says more than being sad for her, she is happy for Rimi
Shekhar asks Anandji to say few nice things for Aditya.. He says, Aditya was very small from when he know him and he has learnt a lot in these so many years.. Chota baccha jaanke humko from masoom is played at the background..
Aditya was smilling and was feeling shy too.. He was looking really cute that moment
HR – Our show TRP is the highest and is doing really well.. One reason is because you are very cute.. All start praising Aditya then..
Results for Boys:
He says – Raja did well, but Amanat was better than him.. So, Raja is out..
Raja just smiles and takes it sportingly..
VS – We are proud of you for taking it in the right spirit.. Today was Amanat’s day and tomorrow will be his day..
Raja dedicates a song for Aditya as he was the one who liked the song which Raja sang and got into Hit IT gharana.. The song is zindagi ek pyaas from Judaai..
ID comes on to the stage and hugs Raja.. ID and HR asks the public to bring back Raja.. HR asks Raja to sing Allah ke Bande so that god’s wish will also be with him and public will also bring him back for sure.. Raja agrees and asks HR to come to the stage so he can hug him..
VS enter the stage and say Raja will be the main singer today and that all mentors will sing in chorus along with him.. All the other finalists also joins him and they all sing Allah ke Bande.. It was an excellent performance.. Enjoyed it

By the way, who was that lady pitchin for mauli whom they kept showing. She was the most entertaining. As long as Mauli is in the show we will get to enjoy her too!

I liked this episode a lot. There were lots of good things and less bad things this time. Good things first:
Amanat, both of your songs and especially ‘Yeh Hosla’ left a lingering aura throughout the event, it gave me goose pimples and I hate to admit I also had tears in my eyes. You are just amazing.
Raja and Sunil you guys turned out to be heroes too, inspite of losing. Raja you really touch the soul of the songs and your choice of songs are also very good and ones that would suit your voice, you realy sound very honest and truthful and your performance shows it all.
Sunil, I think you really have a great future, I hope with your Vishal Shekhar first break, you will prove your mettle. All the best.

Bad things:
Richa, I admit that you might have lost on the finer points of the song, but you had performed the best among all the girls. It was again shocking, but you know what, we are kind of used to this thing now. First with Sarika, then Shreshta and now you. You know you really have a great future and God will be with you.
Rimi, your Dholna song was a smart choice, it suits your voice, at lower scales you really do a good job, your modulations were good, your high notes are not very impressive, I am honestly surprised you came this far, but that’s just my opinion. Your Hai Rama song was not good at all, too much of unnecessary expressions and over sensuousness, very bad.
Shaberi, your voice quality is very good but I don’t know what happens when it reaches the high notes, it becomes very nazal and totally changes the mood of the song. Your expressions are good, but somewhere you miss touching the soul of the song, I really don’t know why. But overall you are better than Rimi, but her Dholna song was much better sung than yours, so no regrets about you getting out.
Yes, I agree with the first comment, that manlike woman with orange hair dancing in favor of Mauli was the most entertaining and hilarious and I duuno if anybody else noticed (you might call me a pervert) but todays highlight was shaberi hugging richa – Four mountains crashing into each other and begging for space, hahaha.
I know we went over this a lot of times, but I dont want people to forget about Sarika. I really want to see her back. Look at the girls that we have today, Rimi, Mauli, cummon, give us all a break. Sarika was much much better. It is just that Ashaji was not familiar with the Bhage re song and she also wanted to prove that Jyoti, who she taught how to sing with an open voice should be given another chance, so Ashaji was ready to sacrifice Sarika for that. We all saw what happened to Jyoti, even though Ismailji thinks she is great, I beg to differ. Anyway, Sarika really deserves to get a chance far more than Shreshta and Richa. Please guys, bring her back!!!
i think the maaguru took a very ryt descision…………..yes shreshta did sing very well n ofcourse better than mauli bt bt bt………..has she been singing like this consistently………answer is definitely no bt mauli is agud singer as well as a performer n thats y she she has such a big fan base………she is very consisten singer…………in the finals we need the best singers nt singers who sing well once in a blue moon…….neways the mentors wont regret loosing sheshta bt they wud definitely regret loosing mauli………according to me mahaguru is ryt….
Bring Raja back by all means other wise it will be a great loss to the Show. He is a great person too. Use Brhamastra for him. This is a request.

Such a shame, shreshtha is out. The world and God knows she sang 100 times better then Mauli.such a senseless judgement by Aanand Bhai. I cannt beleave that. I am from Pakistan But I still beleave shreshtha and wasi deserves for Final. Mauli ko kab ka baahir ho jana chaahye tha. She is looking so beautiful but she is not a top class singer. Judges hi us ko dekh ke runn mureed bann gay to show ka ab kya bane ga,shershtha is out of the show now. Wasi..

What the heck is going on here? I thot Sa Re Ga Ma Pa was a serious singing competition. How can it be that if the good singers are booted out? Richa and Amanat deserve to be in the final. None of the others have their range. Especially Richa from Canada blew everyone out of the water with her western and classical singing skills. She should come back for sure.
I agree with the previous comment. Reecha from Canada was much better than some of the contestants in final round right now.
