Review of 22nd June Episode of Saregamapa Challenge 2007
Today is a new round of saregamapa challenge 2007 – Chakravyuh. In this round, the participants from second round who couldn’t make it to Agnipariksha, will perform. The six participants are Sumedha, Apurva, Joy, Nirupama, Poonam and Musarrat. Out of them only two will get entry to final Round of challenge 2007 i.e. Agnipariksha.
The show starts with our cute host Aditya singing ‘Abhimanyu, chakkravyuh mein fas gaya hain tu’…then he introduces the new Mahaguru for this episode.
Today’s Mahaguru:
Today’s Mahaguru is Anandji (of composer duo Kalyanji Anandji who gave hits like Saraswati Chandra, chaliya, upkar,kurbani, janjir, Mukadar ka sikandar, Lawaris and Don). Aditya asks how he is feeling as a part of saregamapa; He says this is first time he is in Vishwayudh and that it’s nice to be part of musical Vishwayudh.
There will be two round in Chakravyuh today. In first round, one boy and one girl get eliminated while in the second round another girl and boy get eliminated leaving behind one girl and one boy who will get entry to final round of Agnipariksha.
Round one – Boys performance:-

2. Junaid Sheikh from Pakistan (Hit IT Gharana) sings Tanhayee from Dil Chahta Hai…

Comments from Mentors:-
BL - Its very difficult decision because all are good singers.
VS – All three are capable singers. Now it’s totally in the hands of Anandji to judge them.
HR – all of them had sung it well. There might be little technical faults in all performances but overall it’s tough to decide who should eliminate.
ID - for the first time all the singers have sang well, so there should not be elimination according to me. All the best!

Harpreet sang well….Junaid has good style, good singing quality…for Wasi he says the song selection was wrong. ID says Wasi is not well for past few days. He sings sukhwinder’s song really well that’s why he has given him Chayya Chayya song. Anandji wishes Wasi good luck and says he is eliminated today..
So from the first round, Wasi gets eliminated. He says he will definitely miss the saregamapa stage but he is happy that he performed well and got good comments from judges.

Vishal – Shreshta was the best today. Mauli is great performer but for singing she needs to figure it out.
Shekhar – Mauli, the aalap was great but after that sur was flat and pitching was not perfect…Sumana sings very sharp…shreshta was awasome
ID – Shreshta sang first time really well but mauli is performing consistently well so we need singers who perform consistently …
BL – Shreshta sang really well but Mauli also performed well. BL says Mauli is Shakira of India …and he will prove it..

Sumana has good voice quality…Shreshta has really sung it will but the low notes were not proper…Mauli was good… He speaks in Gujarati with Mauli. Then Bappida sang a Gujarati song and asked HR about the pronunciation. HR is also from Gujarat but born and brought up in Mumbai. Then he too speaks something in Gujarati.. Joins him is ID and then Shekhar too…
Anandji then called ID to declare the results. ID shows red card to Sumana…so Sumana Ganguly is out

Vishal – Being a sindhi I was feeling lonely but you sang a sindhi song and made me proud. Shreshta it was wonderful performance. Mauli you need to work hard on your lower notes.
Shekhar – Shreshtha you have powerful voice, Mauli you could have done better than this
BL – The Dama Dum song is very common and has been sung many times at the stage.. So, nothing new.. Mauli follows the record a lot and copies too much…
HR – Shreshtha you have done a fantastic job..outstanding..Mauli is one of superior and star contestants of this show. Mauli is performing very well consistently and she has huge fan following…If suddenly Mauli is out of the show then it’s a big JHATKa…I would say Mauli shouldn’t be out today…
Results:-
Anandji says Harpreet is a good singer and has bright future.. But Junaid was good today than Harpreet..So, Junaid gets green card to Agnipariksha and Harpreet gets eliminated
Among girls Anandji says - Srestha was very good.. But Mauli has a big fan club and there will be no one who can make fans just like that.. She sang well too and just by little difference Mauli gets green card for Agnipariksha and Srestha gets eliminated.

sreshta’s performance was excellent,mauli’s performance was not at all good.i dont know how the mahagurus take decision.sreshta should be there in the show n mauli should be out.
I think these mentors and Mahagurus are mere puppets of the director of the show. Mauli is getting through only because of her one song. If this program is judging anyone for one performance it’s a shame to its fame. It’s just a publicity stunt, as Mauli is very attractive with her costumes and looks and as the program wants more international viewers they are promoting her. I was a big fan of this program but after this episode I would not watch it until this girl with no matching talents with others knowcks out of this program. Shame on the credibility of judges and injustice to deserving singers.
i dont understand why mauli dave is getting undeserved and unneccessary importance and publicity. what is the reason that the judges/mentor and even the director wants her to win though she sing awful? himesh reshammiya instead of defending his singers always defends mauli saying so what if she didnt sing this song well she sang the first song well and makes her sing it again and again.and judges approve it also. why??? judgement should be based on the song sung for that particular episode. if not, then why are other singers working so hard and mauli is always pushed ahead because of that one song.. oh my god. hard to understand. whats happening to the true judgement and honesty of this show? why dont they declare mauli the winner thats all instead of wasting time and energy of other singers.
harpreet was one of the best singers in the show. its a shame that he was eliminated. this is just a major loss for the show and its talent. the fans should bring harpreet back if this show is to be saved. the mahagurus should be successful singers as teh music directors obviously know nothing at all about how to judge this competition.
shresth was outstanding.Here the only parameter to judge should be singing.Anandji should not have brought the topic of fan club!…Just because Mouli has great fan club c should not get all the green signals.Either you follow the principles of Indian Idol where FAN makes a lot of difference than one’s quality or u just give value to one’s singing quality!…Shrestha’s mentor is HR but he supported Mouli…this is also a shame….He does not have the quality to be a GURU!
my mail concern is just because of one horrible and the worst singer ie,mauli the good ones are going out.i don’t understand WHY she is being retained? she should have been the first to be out.
Such a shame, shreshtha is out. The world and God knows she sang 100 times better then Mauli.such a senseless judgement by Aanand Bhai. I cannt beleave that. I am from Pakistan But I still beleave shreshtha and wasi deserves for Final. Mauli ko kab ka baahir ho jana chaahye tha. She is looking so beautiful but she is not a top class singer. Judges hi us ko dekh ke runn mureed bann gay to show ka ab kya bane ga,shershtha is out of the show now. Wasi..

Anandji the so called mahaguru is a biggest idiot on the show till date, who couldn’t see the difference between a good shreshtha and a bad mouli. The show , the judges and the mentors are all for popularity and mass attention. This is no more a singing competition.
