Saregamapa

In the last episode, Apurva from Mumbai (Hit it Gharana) and Sumedha Karmahe from Chhattisgarh, India (Bappida’s Josh Gharana) got Green card and got direct entry to the final round. Now the rest of participants are going to perform in today’s episode and two of them will get eliminated. As a tribute to the legend Raj Kapoor on his death anniversary (2nd June 1988), all the contestants are going perform Raj Kapoor’s songs.[Watch videos of this episode here]

Group Performance:

The show started with Aditya singing Raj Kapoor’s super hit song Mera Joota Hai Japani. Meghna and Shreshta joined him and sang Chand Khila hai, later on Sunil joins the group and sings Pyaar Hua Ikrar hua hai. Sumedha joins Sunil and they both sin duet of the same song. Followed by them were Apurva and Tushar sang Dum Dum Diga Diga and Amanat Ali sang Ramaiya Wasta Waiya. Then all the contestants along with Aditya sang evergreen hit song Jeena Ho Yahan Marna hai yahan.

First Gharana to perform is Josh Gharana

Sunil Kumar sang Mein Shayar To Nahin.

VS – You are an underrated singer but you have a very good voice quality .Your voice has a natural ease which makes the song sound sweet and smooth.
ID – You need to work hard on wordings …
HR – It’s a wonderful composition of Laxmikant Pyarelalji…You tried your level best but you could have done better.
Bappida – Your voice quality is good. Keep it up.

Rajesh Roshan – Your voice quality is good but Need to go with the flow of the song and not just sing the song.
Khayyam – Agree with what everyone is saying, your future is bright.

Next to perform – Vishal Shekhar’s Hit It Gharana

Meghana sang Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandani Me. (This is the best example how not to sing old songs)

HR – it’s difficult to sing old songs, you need to work hard
ID – You were nervous during your performance and that’s why your voice was shaking
Bappida – Your voice is good “but awaj me kampan hai, dara di da….sidha note lagai” (the same advice for everyone  )
VS – you shouldn’t nervous if you are performing on saregamapa stage

Khayyam – When you are performing, just forget everything and concentrate only on your singing.
Rajesh Roshan – I think you have kept your scale little low and the whole songs crashed cos of that

Bappida – It’s a Raj Kapoor special episode and it should have been very musical but you both didn’t perform well
Shekhar – Not up to the mark….Thanda performance, you both sang really bad!
ID – You both tried best but some things were missing in your performances
HR – Singers of Today’s generation somehow feel uncomfortable to sing old songs. Vishal interrupts him and says even common people can sing these songs. It’s difficult to sing these songs badly and they have achieved this. Shekhar says plz go back and listen to what you have sung.

Rajesh Roshan – I liked Shreshta’s performance but don’t know what your mentors want from you. ID says he has already given 90 marks to her. HR then interrupts and says it’s only VS who have problems. (VS need to grow up and give some descent comments)

Rajeshji – Its very difficult to sing on the stage and that of Raj Kapoor’s songs. You both have tried really best
Khayyam – Just follow your mentor’s advice

Results:-

1. Meghana Verma of Hits Gharana eliminated amongst Girls.
2. Tushar of Rock Gharana eliminated amongst Boys.

Meghana said that she had learned a lot from this platform. Vishal says if she is saying from heart then one day she will get the success. Shekhar says even if she is failed today it will help her to achieve success in future.

Tushar says he was hospitalised and that’s why he couldn’t give his best today. He also felt sad that he couldn’t sing his genre songs. HR asked him to sing and Tushar sings a fast number ‘Bichade sabhi apne hai’ (He really sang well). Himesh was so impressed and sang a song called ‘Bhool na Jana’ which he is going to record with Tushar’s voice.
