Bappi Lahiri to sue Abhijeet for abusing him in a recent interview
Recently, Abhijeet abused Bappida in an interview on a news channel. Star News was doing a feature based on Ismail Darbar’s comment on reality show judges. He allegedly mentioned on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa that “it’s a music director who has the flair to judge and not singers!”
When a TV journalist approached Abhijeet for his comment, he simply took off on Bappi Lahiri. It is learnt that Bappida was taken aback when he saw the interview. “Abhijeet is a frustrated singer and I have been tolerating his nonsense for a long time. Now it’s time to take legal action against him. Bardasht ki bhi ek hadh hoti hai!” says Bappida.
Finally, the war is out in the open. For more than a year singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya had been humiliating music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri. It started off when both were judging for L’il Champs Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee. It was clearly evident from Abhijeet’s body language that he had some issues to settle with Bappida.
“We had no idea what Abhijeet has said in his interview,” says Bappa Lahiri, son of Bappida. “Only when we came back from Ekta Kapoor’s birthday party on Thursday, a friend SMSed me saying that the news channel was showing an interview where Abhijeet has unnecessarily dragged my dad’s name and abused him.
It was just not done. I saw the repeat telecast and then called Abhijeet. But he was not man enough to face me.He slammed the phone saying, ‘Don’t call me!’ Now we have decided to take legal action against Abhijeet. Enough is enough,” says a livid Bappa.
Adds Bappa, “Abhijeet is doing another talent hunt show Voice of India for Star Plus. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge is more popular than Voice of India and he must be jealous about that.I really don’t get the idea of hitting out at my dad, when the question was about Ismail Darbar’s comment on singers.”

While it is agreed Abhijit was harsh and disrespectful , yet he has a point.
When Mauli peformed ‘Maiyya Maiyya’
for the first time and got a standing ovation, Bappi Lahiri felt so threatened and insecure that he told her “singer is made for the composer” which implied she should always consider herself subordinate to any composer. .
I don’t agree with that . Singers and compsers are both made for music and no one is subordinate to the other. The recording engineers and musicians are equally responsible for the success of a hit song.It is not a one-man show.
Bappi Lahiri’s reply to the media should be enough . There is no need to show clout by filing lawsuits.
And yes , Bappi Lahiri and other composers should give more chances to singers . This makes the songs sound better.
It is necessary to take legal action against Abhijit. If it is not taken he will not stop abuse to other also. He should be panalized and compensiate.
Seriously! Does Abhijeet think he is the God of music or what?!?!? However talented he is..putting down a fellow-artist and a much more senior is so disrespectful..i always knew he thinks no end to himself but this comment on Bappiji clearly shows his arrogence..Down!down Abhijeet..

Abhijeet was verrry pathetic when in L’il champs he abused Bappi da for no good reason. He definitely seems to be a verry frustrated guy who could have made it big in bollywood, but no surprise that with such attitude he is nowhere today.
Let me ask you one question, Who is Abhijeet in today’s Indian music industry? He is nothing, not even a small pebble. We dont remember him for any songs while Bappi Da is a legend and even Himesh agreed with this on the show. Whenever we hear the song “I am a Disco Dancer” the person who comes in our mind is BAPPI LAHIRI, the Disco King. He is a true legend. I dont think it makes sense when a pebble starts making remarks on a legend’s ability. I think this is because of poor family background and lack of respect for elders and even lack of self-respect.
Abhijith should be sued in the court of Law by Bhappi.First of all he has absolutely no sense of music wonder who ever chose him to be the judge. Adesh is screwing him in Amul Star Voice of India and so has Jatin Pandit rightly done last week.I would be glad to see Abhijith being sued and penalised for his comments.
bappi da u should stop the use of lipstick. i dont want to hurt u but u should try to change ur way of dressing n i must say u r a very calm n nice man n u should take a legal action against abhijeet,he is nothing in front of u
