Abhijeet ’s cheap comments over Saregamapa Mentors - literally cross the limit
Controversy has become a part and partial of all reality shows. If there is no controversy then that show wouldn’t be successful. The war for music is still going on all the talent hunt shows, but now this war has started off, off the screen also. Abhijeet, who was part of saregamapa little champ and now who is judge of Star TV’s Voice of India, recently has passed very cheap comments over the mentors of Saregamapa challenge 2007.
It started off when Ismail Darbar said that singers shouldn’t be judges of any reality show. He was pointing towards Asha Bhosale’s recent judgement with which he was not convinced. But when Abhijeet was asked what he thinks about this, he didn’t spare anyone from saregamapa. He was literally on fire and his target was Bappi Lahiri.
Here are some Abhijeet’s comments : - (I have translated it in really polite language, you really need to watch the video first)
1. Music Directors are not tolerating singers.
2. Bappi Lahiri has sung more songs than Kishore Kumar and that too in bad accent.
3. Everyone is promising contestant for giving break but Bappi Lahiri hasn’t done any movie in last 15 yrs. And nor he did go to the studio.
4. Music Director wants to sing each and every song by himself and that too in nasal tone (about Himesh)
5. If Bappi Lahiri and Usha Uthup sing duet song, Usha will sound like male singer and Bappida sounds like female singer…
6. If composer is asked to sing with Harmonium in station, no one will give a single penny.
Oh my god, I couldn’t believe that Abhijeet can go up to this level. How can he make such comments over the composers who have proved themselves? Bappida’s reply was realistic – “Only frustrated singer who dosent has any work can comment like this”.

well after watching this video i dont have any good view about abhijeet it was really rude of him to say such things ..bappi da is a legend gr8 composer …n i like all da songs of himesh even if it is sung in a nasal tone but it is still appreciated
i think music directors are the most important people and they are the ones 2 give breaks to singers this should be kept in mind …..
n all the 4 great mentors of saregamapa rocks bappi da vishal n shekhar himesh ismail darbar all r very talented …..we all love their music
abhijeet is really mean to bappi da,he gave him de chance to sing songs,i think abhijeets voice is like a girly voice.i hate his songss,n wat abt saregamapa,my fav 1 is Himesh,he rockkkkkkkkk,he give 26 bolckbusters in 1 yr,all de mentors r awesommee,abhijeeet is really a low life singer.thats wat i think.bapi da said true that he jst want fame from pointing on such a big legend.he was veryyyyyyyy mean n acting like a KID.n love HR n his voice 2222222 muchhhhhhh.
I am a regular viewer of all singing based programmes. i remember that Abhijeet has given very bad comments about little kids has misbehaved with there parents in DADAGIRI tone. i feel that he is short temper guy n the way he behave “childish”.
oh really who is that mad saying that abhijeet s voice is girly voice i loive his voice and i evn say that what he said is not so kind but its not even kinf on ur path to say anything bad about someone and here u are blaming abhijeet no so on many sites people are talking bad about himesh now leave it i like boths voice i dont care who says bad about himesh i dont care from where he sings from mouth nose or somewhere else i luv his songs and enjoy listening it

i think mauli dave should not be judged just on d basis of this perfomance ..may be its just tht she was not in a mood which was reflected even in her second songtht is maiyamaiya also .so i think giving her a second chance was the bst step himesh ji had evr taken on the show.she has a diff style and i like tht.ii agree anita was good bt why r we seeing just one performance ..thank god mauli is safe..and i m sure she will perform very well in her next round…u must listen to the song she sung during the audition (i mean all songs )on youtube and then u may decide what is rit ………i think we have got a gr8 singer and she can make it to top singers if given a chance

Yes Abhijeet soemtimes go rude and I dont appriciate it! But his message is clear and justifiable that some composers, when they have chance, they become mean and dont give proper chance to others. They sing more and more songs by themselves (probably because either thay think they are better than others or they want to satisfy their own personal ego or they want to make more money) in either way, it is not appreciable that regular and refined singers sit idle and composers do everything!

It is really bad thing that Abhijit insult to the Composers. I am watching since L’ill Champs that he is a Mad singer. He always want to gain public sumpathy by praising Ligendary Singers. He do not have his own identity, he became a so called singer by singing of Kishore Kumar’s songs. But he said “that is only a reality show where he is judging”. Bappy Lahery is sucha a great composer, he gives a unforgotable contribution to the Bollywood and Himesh is rocking these days. Why Composers not allow to sing, if they have got talet to proof there uniqueness ? I think Abhijit’s comment is result of frustated singer who do not have any position and also it is a result of poor family background.

Well there are 3 things which seem to compel composers to sing their songs themselves
1 Composers work very hard on music but when a song becomes a hit , the singer gets all the glory while the composer plays the bride’s maid.
2. With the digital revolution its very easy to download unpaid hit songs. This eats into the profit margins of producres and hence music budgets have become lesser and lesser. This prompts composers to either sing their songs themselves or get a cheap singer from talent hunt shows like saregamapa.
3. finally todays songs depend more on the music to become a hit. Thesingers a not very superior to the composers singing.So the composers think its easier to sing the song themselves rather than train a new singer or pay the full price to an established singer.

Abhijeet was right in whatever he said… Bappi lahiri hasnt had kaam for many years and his hindi pronunciation would kill every lover of hindi language…and he has sung more songs than kishore kumar in his yuck voice!and coming to HImesh, God save everybody who comes across this arrogant man and his nasal recital!!
AT the same time Abhijeet should not stoop so low to speak about others in a derogatory manner… He is no genius… when will Indian music industry improve????? million dollar question…
Abijeet is so mean! I met him personally in a mela and he came to my mom’s jewelry stall…he talks alot of rubbish. I think that he is just a loud mouth who doesn’t think of what he’s talking about…It’s just ridiculous how he talks about people like that…I am pretty sure that people like Himesh Ji way more than Abijeet anyways.

Although Abijeet didn’t need use that tone, I agree with him that Bappi Lahiri is a joke.
I hated songs sung by him, with his bad hindi and accent.
Abhijeet feels that young singer from Pakistan are steeling his opportunities and is quite frustrated, but with this tone he can’t possibly in good books with any music director.
Bappi Lahiri had set a trend in 80s, DISCO beats. Ismail Darbar & Himesh too has set, Vishal & Sekhar are setting right now.Every person has his time and the new generation will surely shine. But classics will be praised always. We can hardly count on something great which Abhijeet has delivered since last 5 years. Be cool and just do the work what has been given, don’t yap too much.. injurious to health.
Abhijeet is not the greatest singer, which he thinks he is. nobody can beat bappi lahiri. abhikeet was in his nickers, when bappi lahiri Started singing. Abhijeet is not famous anymore, and thats what burns his behind.

Aray yaar tum log kioon baycharay (Kooorh Abhijeet) kay peechay haath dho kar paray ho? Psycho hai baychara budhay ki umar he aiesi hai ju maan main aya bol thia but sensor board should keep khayal of viewers emotions.
Be cool like Ahmad Bhai, dekha nahi jab abijeet ki zubaan angaray ughal rahi hoti hai tu baycharay Ahmad Sir kis masoomiyat or hayrani say uss kay moon ki taraf dekh rahay hotay or usay bardhashat kartay hain. Hum log tu AC rooms main baythay garaam garaam coments theytay rehtay hain baycharay Ahmad Bhai ju Sizzling Oven kay pass he baytay hain So, you guys be as humble as Ahmad ji.
