Here are videos of 8th Episode (26th May) of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007. This episode will be remembered for its controversy over elimination of Sarika Singh of Hit Squad. According of Ashaji, Imran Aslam Mohammad from South Africa and Sarika Singh from India(both from Vishal Shekhar’s Hit Squad) get eliminated from the show but all the judges disagree with the judgment over Sarika. According to them she is better singer than other.

For the viewers its just a talent show.. but for the participants its a platform of the carrer, dreams. I can understand how it must feel to face such a sequence in life.. All I want to say the participants to be strong and not to take such shows as end of their world… and abt the show it was a great show and I dont have that AUQAAT to say Ashaji’s decision was not a good one.
Well, it was amazing show… this episode got a thrilled situation. I think sarika singh should not be eliminated from the show. From all the previous performances she done great job as compare to rest of those two gals. Well, it s a great show that indulges young talent across the world.

Why I agree with Ashaji………
Though the judges praised Sarika. She had issues with her performance.
These are the issues I saw.
1. I feel she was singing staccato.
2. She was showing ‘attitude’ and over confidence. This is her first performance and should be showing an ability to win the audience. In this peformance Sarika was hyped up by her gurus as ‘final material’.
Remember even Nihira in SRGMP 2005 was given the same advise not to show over confidence by a judge in one episode.
Sarika is OK…But till she becomes humble and shows with suitable body language that she wants to sing for audience instead of singing with the attitude of a winner (before actually winning)…
This is when you lose…
To put it mildly; Ashaji was quite vengeful; how can a great singer like her stoop to the level of witch-hunting the best talent. Her comments were wrong. With each note Sarika was proving to be (hmmm) too good for a new entrant. Probably that irked the great Asha Bhosle. Well, Ashaji just lost a fan in me.
I think, as per my judgement, Sarika was some what better than the other girl who replaced her. Weel, take it this way, everybody was telling her that she needs improvements. Even ashaji asked her to sing with open lips again. Means, she did not sing well for the first time which was in the contest.
So, Sarika should be given green light.
I think Sarika needs to improve on her voice quality, the throw of words and the harmony is missing. I fully agree with the judgement by Asha Bhosle and think that the gurus were more of biased.
i thnk ashaji was absolutly right ……..waise sarika was not so gud..thnk god she is out of the comp…but i ahve sum quaries realted 2 vishal….i have noticed tht whener vishal’s gharana;s peole cums she is very hapy though they sumtimes sing bad…but when sum1 else cums she is alwayz the first one 2 fight and start controversy
sarika can only sing well but main thing for a singer is his or her voice ………it is just like try comparing sonu nigam to say suresh wadkar………suresh wadkar is a good classical singer but he doesn’t have excellent voice like sonu ………that is important your voice ……..practice kar ke gadha bhi gane lagega lekin agar acchi awaaz na ho to koi baat nahin…………..aur sarika to naak se gati hai that’s why every one is liking her………….judges i mean……..
