His Memories: “At the age of 16 I organized a musical show for my school. At my head mistress’s wedding I organized a musical show and got Rs.50000. Also when I met Nusrat fateh Ali khan sahib.I am an ardent fan of his and got an opportunity to perform in his presence. Nusrat sahib was impressed & gave me an “amanat” of Rs 500/ as a prize.I still treasure this memorable gift.”
His hobbies are Playing Cricket, snooker, and going for long drive. His Favorite personality is Sonu Nigam and Shahrukh Khan.
Current Status at Challenge 2007:
1. First Stage - Green Signal on First Performance He sung “Mere Naina Sawan Badh” and got green card from Ashaji and entered in 2nd round
The coming Saturday’s episode will see a huge argument on the sets between the judges over Sarika Singh, a contestant from Madhya Pradesh, who fainted on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 out of fear of getting eliminated from the show (Watch video of this drama here). The contestant belongs to Vishal and Shekhar’s Hit It Gharana.
Ashaji not pleased
Reportedly, Asha Bhosle was unhappy with her performance. According to her, the song’s sur and taal were not in order. Vishal and Shekar were not in favour of Asha’s judgment.
In fact, they fought with Asha on this. Sarika Singh sung Lata’s song Bhiga Bhiga where Asha passed her remarks.
The next episode she sung Sunidhi’s song Bhage re mann from the movie Chameli and was highly appreciated by all the mentors from Ismail Darbar, to Bappida (Himesh was not present).
Everyone on the sets were impressed by her song and she was applauded by all the judges of the gharanas, but Asha again ended up remarking on her sur and taal not being in co-ordination!
Brahmastra blues
At this, Vishal and Shekhar hit out. Says Vishal, “Sarika is a very good singer. The only concern for Shekhar and me is to hone the ability of the singer.
No disrespect to Ashaji’s decision. She is a guru but Sarika’s performance was par excellence as compared to other performers on that day.”
Vishal further adds, “ we have the Brahmastra where we get to choose one of the contestant who was eliminated, and all the judges of the gharanas have decided to get Sarika back.”
Asha Bhonsle is out of country and was not available for comment. According to the sources, none of the judges are happy with Asha’s judgment and fed up with the kind of remarks she passes.
This is real war on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007. Himesh Reshamiyya makes Pakistani singer Mussarat from his “gharana” sing a song by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Vishal (from Vishal and Shekhar) takes objection and asks Mussarat to sing any other genre, other than Rahet Fateh Ali Khan.
But Himesh’s point of view was that Mussarat was good in this genre and he should sing such types of songs to get the job in the future. May be Himesh is right up to some extent But the way Himesh was fighting (and shouting) was really scary and was not suitable for such platform. What you says guys?
Wasi Effendi is one of the strong contestants from Pakistan. He is 24yrs old and he is from capital city Karachi. He belongs to Ismail Darbar’s Yalgaar Gharana. He is the student of Jama Millia Poly Technic Institute.
His memories: “I remember this incident in school when I gave the exams for the first time. Instead of giving my papers back to my teachers I brought them home. And I got a tight slap from my parents because of that.”
His hobbies are Singing, and playing cricket and his favourite actors are Govinda and Juhi Chawla.
Yogendra Pathak from London, UK belongs to Himesh Reshammiya’s Rock Gharana. He is basically from India but his got selected in London audition. He is 24 yrs old and studying in Maharaja Sayajirao University.
His hobbies are Singing, Watching movies and his favourite singer is Sonu Nigam

Here are videos of 6th Episode (19th May) of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007. In this episode two contestants, Desh Gaurav Singh from India (Ismail Darbar’s Yalgar Gharana) and Amrita Chatterjee from India (Himesh’s Rock Gharana) got eliminated from this contest. Also, there was lots of contraversy happened between Himesh Reshammiya and other Gurus.
Aditya briefs about last episode and todays episode. Out of 8 participants in the last episode, Harpreet deol from bappi da josh gharana and Poonam yadav from Ismailji s Yalgaar got green card, who ill now go to the next phase, whereas the rest 6 will perform today and out of that 2 will be eliminated.
Aditya welcomes all the gurus and each guru chants their slogan. .
Adi talks about the competition and says that every Saturday 2 will be eliminated and in future this will continue and the best will win this competition who will sign a singing contract of Rs 50 lakhs.
