Magical Mentors – Vishal Shekhar
Sneak peek into the life of Vishal-Shekhar
Vishal-Shekhar are a music directing duo for Bollywood films. They have had a number of successes including Salaam Namaste and Dus.
The duo rose in prominence when they composed the score for the film JHANKAAR BEATS, which included the hit song TU HAI AASMA MEIN . There efforts paid off when they won the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent for Jhankaar Beats. The music for the film Musafir became very popular with youths. They combined techno music with Indian sounds. The score of the film included the music hits Saaki and Dorr Se Paas. 2005 was a good year for the duo as they composed the scores for two hit films: Dus and Salaam Namaste.
Vishal Dadlani is also the vocalist of Mumbai-based electronic band Pentagram, and was a sometime-VJ at Channel V.

Very few times so we get to meet/witness people that truly touch our hearts.. you both have done exactly that. I applaud your sincerity and humbleness with which you come on set each and every day, and support each contestant regardless of their ‘gharana.’ I also honestly believe that good things happen to good people, which is why two of the best judges in my opinion, have the best contestant of the show in the hit-it squad. Raja hasan, is not just a personal favorite of mine, but of my friends and family as well. I am stunned to see him grow with each and every performance. I want you to know that the regular public watching the show may not be holding phd’s in music, but they can clearly distinguish good human beings from the rest.. and you two truly are beautiful souls. May God bless you.. always.. and may you both go very very far in life.

I grew up away from India and wihtout much knowledge of the mainstream indian culture. However, the channels are changing that pretty fast. I havent watched many of the episodes, however the ones i have, i am so impressed by you guys! the way you give advise,it seems to come from the heart,how humble and down to earth you guys are, the way you encourage and above all the way you guys stay away from the self promoting speeches like that guy in the hat is always going on! Good God someone tell him to stop wearing a beanie and a scarf with half sleeve shirts! hahaha
